What a rabbit hole. I took some Jewish studies classes in college and I remembered my teacher mentioning the beard as being an anti-Semitic law. Turns out there was a whole slew of taxes that were imposed on Jewish people or things that were a part of Jewish religious practices, such as eating specific foods (Kosher food). Growing a beard has been a part of the Jewish religion for a long time because it is commanded in the Torah (Jewish bible).

hey jenna, though many old glass panes are indeed thicker at the bottom, they were mostly produced that way due to older, less precise glassblowing methods. when installing them, folks placed them thick side down for added stability! “amorphous” just refers to the arrangement of molecules in the solid. crystals are the opposite of glass in that way-they have very regular lattice patterns that cause their cool crystal shapes when cut. :)

I find myself (3 glasses of wine deep 😅) reminiscing effortlessly about who I was and what life was like when these two beautiful people were actively sharing their incredible lives with us and I can’t help from becoming emotional when the reality of where we’re at now sets in; seemingly all at once, yet not at all; all in one swift movement. One thing I know for certain; I have nothing but love and gratitude for not only Jenna & Julien, but every person that stumbles upon this comment from the depths of a bleeding and yearning heart that better days are yet to follow. May you be blessed and find peace ♥️

I’m a Postmate driver and I have to admit I DO judge people on what they order. Just silently. Once I picked up an order from 7 eleven and all they wanted was one pack of Oreos, I wouldn’t think this was that weird but it turned out I was delivering to a guy in the complex right across the street from the store literally not even a min away. Hey Jenna! Though it is true that many old buildings have windows that are thicker on the bottom, the idea that glass "flowed" over time into this shape is actually a common urban legend. The thickness is due to the glassmaking methods at the time, which did not produce uniformly thin sheets of glass, and workers preferred to install the thicker end at the bottom. Glass, as an "amorphous" solid, is really neither solid nor liquid and does technically flow, but the atoms in glass move so slowly that it would take longer than the age of the universe to visibly warp a window!

From what I heard the „glass is liquid“ is just a rumor. Back in the ol‘ days it just wasn’t possible to make even windows and for stability reasons the „heavier“ side was placed lower.

This podcast is HELL to fall asleep to. Literally impossible. There are like 10 ads, 3 mins apart and they pop in SO loud. I don’t think any other J&J podcast has this many.
