EPISODE DESCRIPTION: In this podcast I talk about the difference between a significant other and a soulmate. A soulmate is word we use to describe a human bond that involves a deep and satisfying sense of peace and connection. We literally wire this connection with our mind over time (our mind is our “aliveness”, that is our ability to think, feel and choose) into our brain, body and mind.

There are definitely some strange things we can’t explain about feeling like you’ve found your souls mate. But I also believe there are scientific reasons why soulmates exist

Brilliant! I’m divorcing my husband after 5 years. He was my soulmate, or so I thought. We started out great but big things chipped away our connections. First, he works out of town so he was gone during the week six months into our relationship and to the end. We saw each other 1 full day a week. A year into our marriage, I found out he was severely behind in child support, like 80,000 behind. It was never addressed. As things unfolded, I detached from him. Is it possible to disconnect, and does the brain rewire and detach the “connections”? I’ve had very deep connections, but found out one of them was more of a trauma bond. I did EMDR therapy about 6 months ago and healed some things of the past. I wonder who’ll I’ll find a connection with in the future? As for now, I’m happy to be alone.

Just remember biblically marrige is final. Ypu can only reconcile to your first marrige. If not then you must be single. Just learn to love God and live like that, God, you, and his people. If your ex husband is divorced, then biblically he was never supposed to be with you anyway. He needs to reconcile to his first wife like the bible says. This is why marrige is so important to do right the FIRST TIME. Just live for God.

Thank u so much dr. Leaf. I love all your videos and your explanations are amazing and so clear. I have a question though: would you think is possible to find someone with which you have this massive connection and attraction which is on a chemical level (soulmate?), but at the same time that same person you cannot live without and that you miss so much even when you don't talk to for 24 hours, is actually your opposite culturally, emotionally and also in terms of behaviors? So you have this great connection and feeling but you think their behavior is not at all at your standards so you don't really commit because you don't want to live a life of fights and disappointment. It's like heart goes its own way while the mind tells it the opposite. It's so weird! I would really love your opinion on this. Thank u so much.

Yes, love story and horror story at the same time. But in the end, Its God’s plan who brings what he thinks the Soul mate we need

I don't know if I agree with this but everyone has different ideas and experiences. I think romance is good and possible. I like how you defined what soulmate means. It sounds like to me that people that understand how to be very emotionally attuned to themselves and willing to tune in to their significant other would probably create that opportunity of "soul mate" but ultimately Jesus' love real love is what is being experienced.
