Also curious on your thoughts about allying Murin & Drar in a Minas Tirith List with Cirion (historical allies as long as Cirion is in the army). Are they worth it? 140 points for 6 might. Or would you be better off just bringing the abundance of other mid/cheap tier Minas Tirith heroes with 3 might each?

Curious if you think Madril would be better than Faramir?
Really enjoyed your analysis of Gandalf the White. I've been using him in a Riders of Eomer army. I understand the value of his versatility, but it's still so difficult to justify his points. You could swap him for Theoden AND Gamling with the Royal Banner, which seems to be a much better option.
Hi all, thanks for a fun listen. I wanted to share a Gondor list I have been building/tweaking and get your thoughts: 1,000 pts 42 total models 12 Might (+might hero) Magic support for all heroes 3 combat heroes with melee wounding bonuses + Gandalf’s elven weapon/strike to jump in with 2v1s to support the heroes. +2 courage for all MT warriors. +1 courage to the clansmen. Clansmen help against extreme terror, plus add a small wounding bonus for warriors. Overall, this is a melee hero focus. March into battle with blinding light protection. If all 3 combat heroes get heroic combats per turn, it could be 6-12 warrior kills per turn. No archers in this list due to the low model count, and built in speed from the marching forces. King Elessar (leader) on armored horse 5 MT warriors with shield 7 MT warriors with spear and shield 3 Knights of MT Gandalf the White on Shadowfax 4 MT warriors with shield 6 MT warriors with spear and shield Hurin the Tall on horse 4 MT warriors with shield 5 MT warriors with spear and shield Forlong the Fat on horse 4 Clansmen of Lamedon

This is my attempt at a competitive 950 pts list. I'm not really used to play at this level, so I'll take any advice including completely changing the list to a different one as I don't know what's good that that many points. Durin 18 Heartguard Shieldbearer 6 Dwarfs with shield Haldir with armour and bow 1 Galadhrim with spear, shield, banner 5 Galadhrim with bow and spear 2 Galadhrim Court Guards 6 Galadhrim with spear and shield Tom Bombadil 43 minis, 7* might, 950 pts The idea is having a solid wall in the middle with the 3 heroes in the centre killing everything with Tom helping them to have enough might to do so. Tom is also there to stop big things like a Mumak or a Balrog.
This list is all about enabling and relying on the strength of the great beasts. The list has magic, and a hero killer, and is pretty mobile with a troll drum and march from the nazgul. Id be interested in your thoughts on the beasts. It should be mentioned that they also come with 9 archers. I’ve played around with the idea of using Cirion tag teaming with the King of the Dead (In an Aragorn leader list). He’s a cheap 3M hero with strike who can reliably pass courage to charge all these big terror causing monsters (+ Harbringer of evil) and seems to sync well with the King who wants to be 1 shotting these multi wound monsters like trolls/mumaks/great beasts. But the King needs somebody nearby with might to call heroic moves as well as hc strike to help the win those fights (which isn’t easy for the king against those monsters). Look forward to hearing your opinions on Ingold/Irolas. I love the idea behind Ingold + shieldwall but is the lack of March worth it compared to Irolas? Especially in lower points lists when Ingold is going to be 1 of 2 or max 3 heros.
knight of the white tower should just have the *mighty blow* special rule and the white sword of gondor should just be a mastercrafted two-handed sword. THEN and only THEN I would take him.
Well she doesn’t have the 2+/3+ Immobilize/Command which is kinda a big deal breaker for some people. And bringing her you lose the +1C army bonus. She is a lot cheaper though so depends if you think the being mounted + extra spells and being able to lead troops and keep army bonus is worth those points.
@@Badentrotter This can make a difference but you get things like 6 might vs 3 might, 2 minis vs 1 mini, automatic blinding light, - 1 C and a very useful instill fear. Plus this combo can fight and cast in the same turn whereas Gandalf can only cast and fight if he wins the roll off for moving first.
Galadriel LoL might be cheaper, but when you add another hero to lead troops (like Hurin), the cost savings are washed out. The reason you want Gandalf comes down to how you want to handle threats: a 6" move on Galadriel means Fell beasts will be harder to chase down with Banishment by Galadriel, while Shadowfax can keep up easily. Doing something similar to Sauron or the Balrog requires you to stay close to them. Just a few examples Strengthen Will is also an underrated spell I feel - Gandalf's ability to give himself Will on a breather round is huge.
@@SonsOfGondor1 I get what you are saying but my point is not that this combo is cheaper, my point is that it's better as it can do 2 things at once. Maybe it's because of my opponent's play style but I never had a problem with LoL's range because a fellbeast needs to be close to the battle line to have an impact. A normal casting wraith might be different but you still really limit their movement by having LoL.

I know this is mainly a competitive channel, but I wanted to submit a fantasy fellowship Ive been working on for a while. Frodo-ringbearer Bilbo-Ringbearer's companion Sigrid: Knight of the mark Tilda: Guard of the citadel Wizard: radagast the brown King: Bard Hunter's companion: Bain, son of bard Hunters companion: Beorn The one doomed to die: Tauriel Bard, now king of esgaroth, decided to journey to the shire along with his family to visit his very friend bilbo and suprise him on his 111th birthday. A series of events involving bard's discovery of the ring take them to rivendell along with bilbo and his nephew frodo. The wizard radagast, (who experienced a revelation that he was the one to lead them on this quest.) Decides to form the fellowship of the ring, including the companions he brought with him representing mirkwood: Grimbeorn, and tauriel. The five travel together, eventually losing radagast to the balrog until tauriel dies to evil uruk-hai. While they only met briefly many years ago, bilbo saw tauriel as a trusted friend, and decided to split from the fellowship along with his nephew. Meanwhile, Sigrid and Tilda are kidnapped, and Bard begins running towards isengard to find them. On their way through the forest, grimbeorn, bard, and his son, bain are stopped by a strange red glow. It is revealed that radagast has returned as radagast the red, lord sanguine. Using his powerful blood magic, radagast reveals that bard is actually a descendant of elendil, and that he can become king of gondor. Radagast travels with tilda to inform denethor. Tilda decides to join the gondorian rangers and fights at the battle of pellinor fields. After a long errand securing the alliance of the dead, bard is able to assume control of gondor, and cause a distraction in mordor, allowing frodo, bilbo, and smeagol to enter mount doom and destroy the ring.
Note that there is a minor continuity error in that bard would be dead of old age. Since in this version bard and his children are descendants of isildur and thus royal dunedain, this problem will not apply

Not sure if this was addressed later, but there's an errata where Aragorn and Denethor can't be taken together. I do think he's worth taking, despite his lack of Might, but you have to be careful with his match up.
