I think as creatives we sometimes get to a point where you needa break past the standards people have on what a “photographer” is supposed to be and shoot, and just start embracing who you are as a creative. Really glad I heard this one, thanks!

Don't care if this is the weirdest comment yet, but something about your voice is damned soothing and sounds just right. It gets your thoughts across how they should be heard. Thank you for the work that you do 🙏

I dont personally like all the photos you take, and I know you dont care about that, but exactly for THAT I enjoy watching your vids and looking at your photos. It just gives me some kind of a boost in my personality and hobby, like if he doesnt care, that means I should not care about others as well. The way you casually talk like not one of those celebs who think too high of themselves makes a friendly connection with the audience. You are showing the true life without fancy add ons or shit like that, idk. So hopefully I will hear more of your podcasts and behind the stage work. GOOD LUCK!

I'm so hard on myself, I am definitely my greatest villain. When I mess up during a shoot I be so hard on myself and I'll have to finesse some shit to get it where it needs to be. I even try new shit and add different elements I'm not super comfortable with yet and sometimes it turns out good sometimes it doesn't. I feel like no one can push me like myself but I def gotta start being more kind to myself. Great podcast!

Less than an hour is preferred for me. - Topic Suggestions, well known/famous photographers that you like. - Styles of photography that you tried and did not like and/or types of photography you never tried and why. Wedding, Street, Macro, Family, Newborn, Pet, Wildlife, underwater, etc... - Bucket list subjects/models - Goals, what would make you feel like you "made it".

Hey man, I'm just starting the video so I'm not sure exactly the direction you went with yet, but I wanted to let you know that you're making a difference, even if you're not aware of it. I've been student teaching in a high school art class this past semester and I'm sick of the only artists students get shown are yuppy white guys if they're contemporary and rich slave-owners if they're historical. You and the work you do is work that reaches the kids I teach, you and the work you do are impactful because you're probably one of the first artists that my students have seen that looks like them, that knows some of the struggles they knew, and that can still strive in spite of systemic oppression and hardships. You're doing some really great things, man!

Hi Vuhlandes, I am a broadcasting major and Photographer at Minot State in my senior year. I love your work. As far as the podcast length goes I would say try to keep it to 30 minutes max. People don't typically have a very long attention span. It would have to be some really interesting shit to keep people on past an hour. Not even Joe Rogan gets my attention that long, with the exception of his talk with Daryl Davis. With that being said, thank you for your advice on not being too hard on myself. I get hung up on Instagram likes sometimes. I also am my own worst enemy sometimes, and go easy on people from North Dakota man, we're not all that bad. We just get grumpy because it's too damn cold up here in the winter, ha ha. Keep up the good work!

I’m speaking on 30:00 rn, but ut really is good having friends in photography and good friends in general. My friend introduced me to his cousin and at first we just played video games together, but then I found out he was also a photographer, and he’s really introduced me to a lot of equipment I can get to save money like macro lens filters. Like he sees what I’m going for and helps me advance my style I guess

21:03 yea people get too caught up in what other creatives do and what their favorite Filmmaker/Photographer thinks. They spend way too much time listening to what others say how things should be all the time and don't realize that they're keeping themselves and other people in a box. Of course, big brands, commercial work and Hollywood has their standards, but when it comes to personal work Idk why some people feel the need to say what a creative should've done. I honestly never understood why people go out of their way to critique personal work on social media.

But Vuh, I think it’s important to be constructively critical of yourself as that’s the only way to beat your competition... yourself. You should never criticize yourself based on where someone else stands but I think it is important to criticize yourself constructively based on where you yourself stand, in order to keep besting and pushing yourself.
