Allam Efren Jr. Palattao BPED 2A 3.HOW CAN LOW GRADES MOTIVATE SOMEONE? Having a Low grade, use it as motivation to Improve your Studies. Find out what mistakes led you to low grade and fix them! Your motivation must be the low grade! You should think of it this way. you are on your own personal path to success, and on that path there will be failures, so they are expected. But those failures are good if and only if you learn from them to adjust your exact steps you will take on this path to success. Fine tune your steps which means spotting every mistake you make (like if you don't spend enough time studying or if you study in a way that takes a lot of time but isn't good)Then, you must keep your head on straight and be the best you can be to achieve your goals.

Cauilan Peter Jhon C. BPED 2-A 3. How can low grades motivate someone? -Below average can inspire someone to work harder and put in more effort. They can also inspire them to improve their performance and get better results in the future. To raise their grades, they can devote more time to learning, reviewing, and practicing themselves. Receiving a poor grade isn't the end of the world; what matters is how you move on from it and learn from your mistakes.

Natividad, Angelica Mitch M. - BPED 2A 3. How can low grades motivate someone? - Some people would say, Grade is just a number when they got low grades but we all know that deep inside that quote, There is a hope that we could also get a high grades, that we also want to be validated academically and to give back the efforts of our parents by showing them that we are excelling. As a person whose a grade conscious, if there's a time that i got low grades, it affects me mentally and emotionally. At first, you can't deny to yourself that you did your best but why you still got low grades then you'll immediately question your ability. You'll sabotage yourself saying "I'm not really good at this subject" nor "My efforts aren't enough". But after that grief, you'll self regulate. When i do self regulation, it is where i realized what is my strengths and weaknesses, what is my lackings and so on. In that way, it gives me spark to study harder. It ignites my eagerness to focus more and seeks development.

Meljames Tanguilan BPED 2A 3. How can low grades motivate someone? - "grades doesn't define who you are" but for me grade is the best way to estimate students. Sometimes it's not the student's fault why the grade is low, maybe it's the teacher's fault so the students don't understand the subject(course). Low grades may motivate students in terms of learning because you need to study harder, pay attention in class, and start practicing yourself to gain high grades as you can.

Receiving poor grades does not define you, but it does define your approach to your studies. What matters is how you move forward and learn from your mistakes. Make an effort to study if you truly want to improve your academic performance. You must be optimistic about the situation if you hope to improve it. Believe in yourself and motivate yourself to study more in order to achieve the grade you desire. Choose a goal for you to achieve something great.

But, if happens that we have a low grade it doesn't says that we did not learn, maybe the effort we do is not enough. But will not be the end. We can use this as motivation to strike harder in the future. Through it, we can assess ourselves maybe we can, changes the way we learn back then into a better one.

This can involve developing better time management skills, setting clearer goals, or seeking help from teachers or finding online courses. By reflecting on their mistakes and taking active steps to address them. 3. How can low grades motivate someone? Some students or learners who are getting low grades would feel disappointed , upset and dismayed which can greatly put a negative impact to their other learning activities and performances . Pessimist thinking will occur and maybe that will lead into consistent failure in other learning aspects . Most of the students nowadays makes their low grades as a motivation because of thinking optimistically , they are the one who are making their grades based on what is being recorded and performed so they must do everything and be the best. Doing a much harder work , learning harder/smarter and pushing theirselves beyond the limits. Coming back as stronger and diligent learner in order to reach higher grades than before . Eduardo A. Back in high school, we took this (one) unforgettable exam; in the last part of our exam, which is equivalent to 6 points, we needed to put the teacher’s full name, address, and status. I was shocked by the fact that why did he/she have to do that. I go to school to learn not to know his/her whereabouts. Some may say that there is nothing wrong with what he/she did, but for me, it is an EXAM that assesses if the learners gain knowledge from you and the subject course. (it's ok if she put that as bonus points, but nahhh.) I thought that I will not experience this in college but then joke lang pala. There’s this one prof that just attend the meeting but talked about his life and experiences then when the final exam was given, I was shocked because the content is iba from the subject course!

MABATAN, JOANA MAE C. BPED 2A 2. Do you think standardized tests like the NAT and UPCAT are fair to all types of learners? Probably not, due to the fact that standardized examinations like the NAT and UPCAT don't access students' aptitude or intelligence, they are unfair to all sorts of learners. Learners differ as well. It is rather clear that not all types of learners will find it fair that some are good at the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains of learning, but I believe that it is vital to take it because it is general knowledge that can test our cognitive ability. Also, according to Gardner, it is stated in the principle of good quality assessment under principle 3, which is balance, that it must set goals in all areas of learning or intelligence.

Bawat, Ma. Kathrina M. (BPED-2A) 1. What instance did you feel that the test your taking is not appropriate for the subject matter? -If the facilitator administers a paper and pen test instead of a performance-based assessment, the test is inappropriate for the subject area. As an illustration, the question is "Running 25 meters at what speed a certain person can and choices are given in the paper". Agility depends on who performs and should be measured through performance because it takes actual demonstration, thus how can a learner gauge someone's agility that they don't know?

How can low grades motivate someone ? ∆ They say grade is just a number, grade doesn't define who you are, but I totally disagree with what they say because if we think about it, who makes the grades of the students? it is not teachers who make students' grades, but we students make our own grades. Having low grades as a student's can make us disappointed especially in ourselves, we can still think that we did everything but why is it still so low, but at the same time we will be motivated to make up for the next one that we will think that there is still something to improve , I can even raise the grades I got, I just have to believe in my ability, because I believe that everyone fails at some point. - KAYLA SANTIAGO OCAMPO BPED-2A

What instance did you feel that the test you are taking is not appropriate for the subject matter? - The test is not appropriate if the objective of the subject matter and the test method is not connected. For instance is when we were in highschool one of P.E teachers wanted to see if all of us already knew how a certain dance is performed and the test he gave was a written one. Like to write a detailed explanation on how to do the dance. When the proper test should be to let us perform it to see for herself if we are able to do the dance or not. Because just simply perfecting a written work on how to do dance does not mean we are able to perform it.

DABBAY, ROBIELAI ANNE BPED 2A 2. Do you think standardized test like the NAT and UPCAT are fair to all types of learners? Justify your answer. - In my own perspective I think it is not fair to all types of learners because of the fact that we all know in a classroom set up, the learners is not the same in terms of learning abilities. They have differences, some may good at cognitive, affective and psychomotor domain of learning so, its basically obvious that it is not fair to all types of learners but I think it is necessary to take it because it general knowledge that can test our cognitive skill. In addition of that, it is also stated in the principle of high quality assessment under principle 3 that is balance that it must sets targets in all domain of learning or domains of intelligence according to Gardner. Same with principle 6 that is fairness that it must provide to all students with an equal opportunity to demonstrate achievement.

2. Do you think standardized tests like the NAT and UPCAT are fair to all types of learners? Justify your answer. - The obvious answer is NO because this doesn't really measure the intelligence of every individual student. in the 6th principle of high-quality assessment, it is noted that fair assessment should provide equal opportunity to demonstrate achievements for all students. Standardized test doesn't provide you that because all students learn and demonstrate intelligence differently. But I also think that it is necessary because cognitive comprehension is very important especially if you're an education student. these types of tests provide questions from all different types of subjects that will measure your comprehension to them. Some may have better results in English, or math, or in music. In conclusion, I don't think it's fair, but I do think that it is necessary. *edited* I've come to realize that standardized tests are actually fair to an extent. standardized tests, as described in lesson 2 developed by organizations that have a well-defined system of administering, scoring, and interpreting. meaning that it is valid and can be used to a wider group. so YES, it is actually also fair.

As a learners or one of the students who take that exam, for me we need to take for us to know the abilities or strength of the students. Because if the learners good at physical activities she/he knows different skills of one sports in the exam. In addition, like in the principle 3 assessment sets targets in all domains of learning (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) or domains of intelligence according to Gardner. 2. Do you think standardized tests like the NAT and UPCAT are fair to all types of learners? Justify your answer. This question intrigues me and is difficult to answer because random thoughts in my head suddenly contradicted after reading it. Standardized tests in general are not fair to all types of students, primarily because they are the least authentic mode of assessment. However, we must keep in mind that standardized tests can be authentic, depending on their objective or purpose. NAT and UPCAT, for instance, are exams designed to determine students' achievement level, strengths and weaknesses, as well as the student's ability, sharpness, knowledge, and so on and whether they are ready or eligible to take the next step. In Gardner's Multiple Intelligence Theory, it states that learners have different intellectual abilities, while learning styles on the other hand are the ways in which an individual approaches a range of tasks. So to answer the question "Do I think standardized tests like the NAT and UPCAT are fair to all types of learners?" NO, standardized tests are not generally fair to all types of learners when it comes to determining their intelligence, but YES, standardized tests like NAT and UPCAT are generally fair when it comes to measuring students' knowledge, skills, and understanding because they are objective, fair, efficient, and comprehensive.

Because standardized tests such as NAT and UPCAT don't calculate or measure students' ability or intelligence; the standardized test is not an effective way to test the skills and intellect of students. Hence, these are just one way of proving how well students can do, analyze, and remember a certain lesson; they can only see if there is progress and learn from the past. So this means that standardized tests are not fair to all types of learners since every student has their own style of learning or different terms for learning abilities.

Poor grades are common in college and are a natural part of the learning process; do not persist in them. Just work on yourself to prevent it from happening again. KIMBERLY JOY B. ASUNCION BPED-2B

BLANCO, ALYSSA V. BPED 2B 2. Do you think standardized tests like the NAT and UPCAT are fair to all types of learners? Justify your answer. Probably, it's not. Standardized tests like the NAT and UPCAT aren’t fair to all types of learners due to the fact that they don't measure students' intelligence or skill. Also, learners have differences. Some are good at logical, verbal, physical, and so on. In the 3rd principle, which is balance, it’s stated that a balanced assessment sets targets in all domains of learning (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor), or domains of intelligence according to Gardner. Standardized tests only measure limited areas and evaluate whether a student had learned or not. Nonetheless, I might say it’s good to take because it will measure your comprehension.

CORPUZ, INA MARIE O. BPED 2A What instance did you feel that the test you are taking is not appropriate in the subject matter? If the teacher gives written test or a so called paper and pen test instead of performance based test. For an instance, determining and classifying the proper posture and step in folkdance in traditional mode only is inappropriate. We can say yes he/she knows the answer, but how can you determine if the learner can properly execute on what he/she have answered in the written test. So instead, it must be in performance based test. In short, knowledge and performance based test are not good match in a way when your cognitive knows but your psychomotor do not.

2.) Do you think standardized test like the NAT and UPCAT are fair to all types of learners? Absolutely No. There are kids who hate school, as it is, but all this standardized testing is not making it any better. It seems that the state or school board or whatever knows absolutely nothing about education. All they care about is trying to measure and compare test results of every school and student as if it were some kind of competition. I am afraid that my feeling about standardized tests (which is hatred) may affect my thoughts about this but I do believe that something has change about it. There are some cases where a student chooses a certain track in school in order for them to get their desired job in the future but there is so much that is being taught to them that is often irrelevant and impractical, thus the practice of taking in so much knowledge and then forgetting them afterwards to make room for the next. This is not so good because in this way a student doesn't really learn anything at all anymore and just basically surviving. It's just a bit sad that the tests, which has nothing to do with what you want to be in the future, are the ones that kept you from becoming the person you want to be.

LOPEZ, ROSE ANN E. BPED 2B Do you think standardized test like the NAT and UPCAT are fair to all types of learners? Justify your answer. It is true that you can test a learners knowledge through this test but it is not fair, different students have different types of knowledge or intelligence, one person may be good at exams or test but weak at practicals but it doesn’t mean they are not wise, every students have different ways in understanding lessons, showing their intelligence or on how they are able to learn more than just teachers can teach and so same with a students knowledge, you can’t tell that a person is knowledgeable or dumb just by taking this standardized test so I think it is not fair ‘cause everyone has their weaknesses and strength and strength is not always about answering traditional assessments like this.

What instance did you feel that the test your taking is not appropriate for the subject matter? Encountering this kind of matter makes me frustrated. We learners have differences in all matters and surely will make an impact. I personally feels like I am a stupid student taking an inappropriate test. It is not accurate on my strengths as a learner and makes me more unmotivated.

Banatao, Shioan Michael U. BPED-2B 3.How can low grades motivate someone? Answer : For me low grades motivate someone depending on that someones perspective. For example, if you're an optimistic person despite receiving low grades you will be inspired to study more/study hard because you want to achieve higher grades. While on the other hand if you're an pessimistic person and you received low grades you'll lose hope and interest because you will think that you're not enough, even efforts are given. To conclude what I learned is receiving low grades is a result of many factors, so you as a learner need to reflect and create a solution so that you will receive better grades next time.

3. How can lower grades can motivate someone? Well, I'm going to answer based on my experience. When I'm in high school, I always have a lower grade in my math subject; math is not my forte. One of my family members said that I'm dumb in math, and I don't like to be called dumb. You can insult me in my physical appearance or anything, but don't you ever call me dumb. That's why, after that, it motivates me to work harder in my math subject. So based on my experience, a lower grade can motivate someone so they don't have to be insulted. Mikhail Avelino I. AGACER,VIA MAE R. BPED 2A 3.How can low grades motivate someone? Getting a low grade can be very disappointing, and it can also lead to additional stress and a lack of motivation. But getting a low grade isn’t the end of the world; what matters is how you move on from it and learn from your mistakes. If you really want to improve your academic performance, exert efforts to study. You need to be positive about the situation if you're going to have a chance of improving it. Believe in yourself and encourage yourself to stay focused on your studies. Pick a goal or series of goals and use that as your motivation.
