I am 10 minutes in and this by far the best league start vid for anyone that plays this game. You are a champion Sirgog and an Aussie as well! Thanks an I hope you get all that you deserve out of this. bloody legend
This is my 3rd league (so still pretty new)… This single RU-vid video is (for me at least) easily top 5 for me. Other than the incredible knowledge that is basically this entire video, it forced me to think about things that I haven’t necessarily thought about before this. Thank you sir! Keep up the good work.
SirGod dropping straight knowledge and totally not causing me to change my mind on my league start build for the 69420th time! Login!! In like 9ish hours that is.
Your Poe content is vastly more sophisticated than anything else I've seen, and that's why you're my favorite. I dare say you're the smartest Poe content creator. Thanks for doing what you do.
I have watched everyone of your teaser videos and you have just done such amazing work. Thank you so much for all the info and content. Your doing great man, keep it up. Hope a mirror drops for you this league.
Honestly I have learned more in the video by you than in years from most other content creators. I appreciate that you are thorough, and make as few assumptions as possible regarding knowledge levels of the viewer. It was like a well-structed collegiate lecture, which is what my post-academia-addled brain craves. Kudos!! Liked and subscribed.
TIL there are three types of builds in PoE: movespeed, bossing, and ignite prolif Chieftain. 😂 Love the content, Sirgog is the MVP of PoE informative content creators.
Your content is consistently the highest quality that anyone puts out, thank you for your hard work in the build up to this league mate. Hope you have a good one.
This video is really good. I'm starting out, 2nd league, 400 hours. Watched a lot of guides. NOBODY in those guides talkee about which builds can do what content. The only thing I knew was that Trickster hexblast mines was good for Sanctum. Thank you so much for making this video, and making it concise and with a really good presentation as well
As a continuous player for about 5 leagues now. I've grown from just using a build guide to looking for how to make profot for a league starter. This video tackles some issues for players such as myself with what build cant do which endgame content. We need more of this discussion which should be featured as like a pros and con of running this build with the endgame content in mind. I really appreciate this!!
Hey man, Just commenting again because... Your content is one of the best I've ever seen. Keep up the amazing job, and I will spread the word of sirgog
I came back to POE after being away for several years; and I’ve watched a lot of content to catch up. Your vids are the absolute best at explaining strategies. Keep up the great work it is appreciated my friend.
Overall, absolutely adore this video. Lots of useful information there. My only critique is that while you talked about which _ascendency_ classes would be most suited to particular types of content, it might have been more useful for newer players to have specific build suggestions. For veterans like you and me, that's not as important since we know what types of content put what stresses on a character, but a newer player might have a build that can tackle, say, Ritual quite effectively, but not really know what types of content their build can "overlap" with.
That shirt makes you look like a Blue Slime with a lovely little human head popping out the top. Or a double Amputee. Either way, I love it and can't unsee it.
As far as league mechanics that work well with the settlers mechanic, it might also come down to getting as much gold as possible. If gold comes mostly from small mobs, abyss could be awesome for it.
Best explanation/intro to common atlas strats that I've seen. Tightly organized/bulleted and easy to get the gist of each. So many people don't talk about the specifics of what kind of character you need for each strat to work well.
Tip from fubgun on destructive play. Do either silo or desert spring. The point is that you get to the end boss, kill the destructive play bosses, loot and leave without killing the map boss. You can do it witnessed again.
Incredible incredible content here. Honestly, posting this as league-start content is probably underselling it; most of this info is as evergreen as you can get in PoE.
So, this i barely give any comments on yt. But man oh man Sir, this huge amount of information is incredible well put together. You just got my problem fixed which i probably share with 10.000 of us. DECIDING WHAT TO PLAY. This is just gold ! Thank you.
One thing to note about sanctum: you get a lot less drops (only mini bosses drop actual loot), which means your gold income will probably be very scuffed. Furthermore the whole league mechanic is tied to maps, so that's also means you won't be progressing anything in there. I'm foreseeing quite astronomical osin costs again :D.
I think people are forgetting the real time component to the league, its something you're going to want to atleast check out to get a feel for it and see if its worthwhile rather than waiting till maps and then finding out you have to wait 2 days to get anywhere because you ignored it for the first day to reach maps asap
Based video. The pairing of a strat with your build is the most important thing in a league start and the only people that talk about it are the ones that put up guides for very specific builds designed to run out of map content (like sanctum runners or heisters). One small comment... in my experience doing runs for atlas progression the shaping nodes are not a priority. I never take them before all the connected map drop nodes because without voidstones to help you leverage the equity system they don't do as much as people think. Most of the time it will just upgrade t1 maps to t2 which you don't need cause you are already in high yellows or early reds. Have a great league start!
Hey SirGog! Top content as per usual, your consistency and quality are impeccable. How you can talk for 1hour and every single word comming out of your mouth is content is remarkable. Can you share an Atlas tree for the 1st Atlas? The one with map sustain and kirac missions?
As an Incursion fan, I missed my favorite Gold Digger, Alva. We saw that some essences will come through the expansion mechanics, it's hard to say if the price will be "normal" or the low price of the necrolopis. The temples of Alva are irreplaceable, allowing you to make the vaal skill gems 21/20 or double corrupt uniques, although at the beginning of the league the demand tends to be lower. It's also a strategy that doesn't require any investment in Scarabs, working very well with Kirac's missions.
I do think you are wrong that people don’t talk about currency Strats but it’s more the people that need help don’t talk about it and this video helps those a lot
Hey I am giving you a heads up now before I post my findings on Reddit so you don’t call me out like you did last time when I bought 1700 harbinger scarabs to run in standard after the fracturing shard introduction (which I still stand by my findings whether I got unlucky or not) Anyways, this time around, I prepared 250 simulacrums to run once league starts ( I don’t plan on playing this league) and I will post my findings after I run all of them. It wasn’t easy buying that many after the 3.25 announcement (you could easily buy simulacrums for 20c in std before the announcement) If you would like any proof of my 250 simulacrums I bought and any info on the build I’ll be running you are more than welcome to hit me up and I can share everything I have in game. Just please don’t accuse me of skewing any of my findings from my 250 runs. I am an honest person and I have zero intention of ruining any market whatsoever ever as before I have no intention of playing this league so there is no point of me doing so Thanks
I put around 1500 hours into PoE before burning out and coming back years later for this league. I think one strategy people should seriously consider in tandem to whatever content they like is to disregard currency entirely. Why? PoE has a focus on getting better, getting quicker, getting richer. You end up putting a lot of pressure on yourself to do those things and after a certain point you start seeing diminishing returns. Those diminishing returns can make you feel frustrated, like you always need a better item or more currency to progress, but it's impossible to keep improving forever. It's one reason people feel so different when they play solo self found, when the only use for currency is to consume it the game feels completely different. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you *enjoy* it. If that's filling the screen with molten strike balls that's fine. If that's doing white blight maps all league that's fine. If that's joining in the last 2 weeks of the league so you can buy everyone else's equipment and smash the bosses that's fine too. Don't be like me and burn out, the only real reason to play PoE is to HAVE FUN.
TBH this is what I do usually. If my league goals include getting O-Sin or other chase items I follow the currency advice here - but this league I'm goofing off lots. Even goofing off, I'll have resources to trade into a Mageblood by week 5 or 6 if I want one.
Man, no love for Alva? I admit I'm a noob at this game (albeit one with many, many hours in it), but I've found Alva to be really underrated, at least in recent leagues. Get the right rooms in the temple and they can sell quickly and easily, and if you spec into it on the atlas, those lucrative rooms are extremely common. Plus it's really, really easy to run for most builds with minimal gear. Of course there are more lucrative strats, but I dunno, to completely skip over Alva seems unwarranted.
Just wanted to echo the feedback from others I see here: this video is amazing. This is the first league I'm participating in and as a new player this helps so much in paring the game down into a manageable size. Just enough info to see if something is worth further research.
Sir, spike traps in labirynth dont oneshot you. they deal some physical damage and apply strong bleed. If you are bleed "immune" you wont notice their damage increase. Saws/spinning traps will hurt.
With how I play and approach the game, my go-to start is rushing Betrayal/Expedition on the atlas and usually in the first few days Tujin has given me at least one divine and a load of chaos, and Catarina early veiled orbs is always nice to get fast divines (or hold until they go up). Just my experience, I'll have to keep some of the info here in mind though. Good stuff.
Abyss's success depend on whether you can fit the caster chest mastery, or the warcry chest opener is back. The hoards spawned by the scarab can drop div cards and are weighted to be good.
For ultimatum, in both affliction and necropolis, catalyst sell fast and high in bulk, supply is relatively low, but per player generation is very high even in affliction. There are also bulk sell T0 inscribted ultimatum to gamblers. It's fine for league start. And is extremely strong for week 2 onward with properly geared characters. I personally like to pair it with beyond in 8 mod maps.
I'm definitely gonna go all-in on blight at the start, I can trade the oils easily and the high level ones should be in high demand with the new anointables, not to mention I suspect my build is gonna be a bit crap, but a couple of enchanted rings and Cassia's Pride can let just about any build run blights.
Gonna be following pohxs rf build and atlas tree for the second time. I’m hoping it feels better then it did last league cause he knows what he’s talkin bout. I will say in terms of geting contracts, maps, scarabs is that we don’t know how common it’ll be to get boat loads of them. I’ll farm up gold up till act 5 then start upgrading so that come white maps I’ll be able to have a good foot hold. FOR THE COWGIRL!!!!!! Edit-one thing you didn’t mention is that any mechanic that spits out monsters Ie:ritual/abyss/ulti/blight SHOULD spit out gold like a ruptured Fort Knox (we of course don’t know but would assume so) so those mechanics should definitely be worth investing in
cheeeeeesr and thanks!!!!!! its insane how hard it is for me to figoure out what my build can do and what mechanics and strategies i can actuallydo cause i have no idea what im doing and chaos has been wild XD getting into maps and glad were all having fun but im trying ot make tihs happen after my 1st divine nad using your data and ideas to finally figure out what i wnat ot otry AFTER i get some decent progression cause mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn LA/EHoS is roughhhhh for what i love ot do but so many atlas choices lol
This is such a good video. The only video of yours that has been as much utility, I think.... Well, ok, the only OLD vid of yours that feels it was as great was the video you made before.... Legion I think? It was about choosing a league starter such that you can pivot to a tried and tested. Because in those days, making new builds was more common, the crowd sourcing wasn't as bad. Again, really great video, I've come back to it a couple of times now!
