This game had something that I can't quite put my finger on, but despite me not understanding what the heck was going on during the 1st half of the game, it still captivated me and left me thinking about it for a few weeks after finally beating it. Cool to see these lore videos on it.

I had the same issue because I was picking up every quest I found and soon lost interest in the main q and forgot what was even going on to the point I got stuck because I didn't know I had to go to Heritage Hill. Recently replayed the game and kept to the main story until I got to Defiance Bay (not even doing the chapel undercroft bit in gilded vale) and I love the lore and everything, I think it's important to stick to the main quest until you get to defiance bay.

By the way, I still dont understand what was Adra Dragon and how it get there. I little illumunation would be really nice.

Dragon hatchling that found its way down there before the statue was even built eating od Nuas slaves and then started feeding off souls in the statue once it was built, became trapped due to it's size and needs to feed off souls after eating them for too long. Can use Adra to cast it's soul out and see the world above but is always forced to return after a while.

The dragon adapted to its new environment and was slowly enveloped in soul energy from very early on. It's Adra form and ties to Od Nua as a location made it impossible for her to leave, so she'd compel surface dwellers and especially the new owner of Caed Nua with compulsions. She did this to the watcher as well.... in the hopes that she could conspire to escape some way and unleash her influence on the world more directly, especially sense the world above through her own body somehow, etc.

I still never fully understood how that worked. Were individuals chosen to become the specific gods known today and the citizens used their souls to power the ascension of those individuals to godhood or was each god created by the collective Engwith cities and somehow made into individual beings?

@@andrewvincent7299 people were selected to make each god after a concept, with criminals and malcontents being used to make Skaen for instance. But a ton of people were sacrificed to make each specific one with their collective souls combining to form the god, it's said to have a been an effort involving the entire civilization.

They are and aren't. They aren't "Gods" in the sense of primordial, timeless entities that created the universe. They were living beings who ascended to godhood through their powers and ingenuity alone and I assume the process can be repeated if one knew the steps. In that sense, the Gods aren't real. But for all intents and purposes, the OG Engwitheans are Gods.

@@tudorradutu2329 I've played the game I know what they are(The Gods). My question is more philosophical, cause frankly they do all the things God's do, listen prayers, grants abilities affect the world etc. Most "God's" in fiction aren't primordial and can be killed or stopped one way or the other. Does apotheosis makes a being less of a God than a primordial one? Yes the Engwithans created them through sheer ingenuity, but they are much more, they are divine. so tell me what makes a false God?
