Poecilotheria regalis , Indian Ornamental egg sac removal and care
The Indian Ornamental a truly gorgeous arboreal spider from India these tarantulas have striking tones of grey, black, white all blended together with vibrant yellow under their legs, these I believe make a great introduction into the world of Pokies, they are pretty calm and generally well behaved and quit often out on show too.

That was SUPER cool. I was so glad that you chose to show the rescue efforts, because I was incredibly curious about it. Thank you so much! Also I was pleased that you were able to so clearly demonstrate why human intervention is really useful sometimes. I used to keep snakes, and I was always very careful about sterilization and quarantine. Sometimes I'd get asked why, because "snakes in the wild don't have anyone sterilizing their habitats", etc. And I always had to explain that nature is unforgiving, so a lot of wild animals just don't make it, which is part of keeping ecosystems in balance. But my house is not a wild ecosystem! My animals are pets, and I'm not interested in having a bunch of them die from preventable issues! People say the silliest things. 😂

I was left absolutely speechless by how gentle and steady Camera Lady was at pulling off all the bad bits. I honestly didn't think that most of them could be separated. Hats off to her ! I don't know if I ever will get a Poec in my T keeping journey (If I'm being truly honest, I doubt I'll venture out of the Brachypelma/Grammostola group much, mostly because of their extreme longevity, which is the major factor for me keeping these. I like animals that last longer than the typical rodent/cat/dog/etc...), but there is no doubt I'd go for the regalis, mostly because it's the Hobby classic of the Genus. What little we could see was enough to see why they are so sought after. Simply beautiful. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)

I don't know if I'll ever own a tarantula of any kind, but seeing a picture of a Poecilotheria is what gave me enough of a passing interest in them to get on the T part of the youtube graph. Really beautiful animals, all of them. Even got a cool systematic name when you look at the word stems.

Thank you, Dave. I took your mantra to heart, "Be calm, be gentle, and love your spider". I am (somewhat) new to the hobby, but conducted almost a year of research prior to purchasing my first spider - a P. regalis (male, as it turns out). We all have our phobias and mine is urticating hair combined with my allergies. I made the decision to only keep old world t's and have no regrets. Thank you for having the best human lessons on the internet with respect to tarantulas. We ALL thank you. The fourteen spiders and their human caretaker.

Some new worlds don't have urticating hairs and some like avicularia have urticating hairs but don't kick them off, they rub their little booties on things but main line of defense is their poop cannon, yes the shoot poo at potential threats 🤣🤣

Thank you for showing something that we can learn that isn't exactly like most any other sack pulling videos. This... THIS is why I have affectionately nick named you "the spider whisperer"! Hi Dave and Camera Lady, hope you’re both doing well today. 💕💙 This is such an amazing video. Mummy spider is beautiful with the flash of yellow on her legs 💛 She struck out a couple of times while you were removing her egg sac, and I thought she was going to chase after it at one point. Thankyou for taking the view from the top with your phone, to show what Camera Lady couldn’t. You were just in time getting to the nymphs, before any further damages. Very lucky indeed. It’s a first for me to actually witness (the bad eggs) inside the egg sac that still contained living babies. I’ve seen dead sacs. I’ve seen dead eggs within a nursery pot. But like I said,You were very lucky to catch them before they spoiled the whole sac! Camera lady’s gentle touch came in very handy indeed to get it all sorted. I know I couldn’t have done it. 🕷🕷🕷That would be great to know how the nymphs get on 🕷🕷🕷 I wonder what’s next…? Take care and stay safe 💕💙🥰xxx

Binge watching the videos again. Thank goodness for camera lady, she has the delicate touch and did so well with the dubious eggs. I was enjoying another video recently, don't ask what one coz I can't remember, I've a brain similar to a sieve! Anyways, it's where you showed the actual pairing and obviously edited and then showed the sac and babies. I know alot more work which you don't need at the moment but so fascinating to actually see the whole story so to speak, so would definitely love more of those in the future going forward 😊
