I watched the video on the 3 piece tequila. I am 74 years old and my wife is 73. Putting a 11 ft kayak on the roof of my truck is difficult. We had a tandem Liquid Logic kayak and stopped using it due to weight. This concept is cool. Our daughter has a house on the Texas Bay where Redfish thrive in very shallow water. I also want to transport a kayak in our 21 ft Yamaha 210 FSH twin jet ski engine boat, so that we can travel to remote bay areas then shift to a kayak for very shallow spots. Good video, well done. Are there other seat options (fishing style seats) and peddle drives?
Thank you for the kind words and glad it helped. We have also bought a SeaEagle inflatable and that is great for the weight. I am not sure about other seat options, but their website might have more details.
Awesome video and great review! Point 65 makes really nice kayaks. I have the 'Martini' solo sit-in version for open water and up to class II rapids - so I use a spry skirt with mine when in choppy water. It is the most comfortable and stable sit-in recreational kayak that makes wildlife photography so easy - it's literally almost impossible to tip this kayak. Perfect for being out on the water for a day with the two sealed hatches to store gear. And fitting it in may car and not having to lift a boat on my roof is priceless!
That is awesome, we really love ours as well and primarily use it for goofing off and fishing, although we were in some pretty big waves last week. Not having to put it on the racks is a gamechanger! Thanks so much for commenting and sharing your experience as well!
I own the identical kayak. Even the colour is the same. Recently I built a transom and attached an NK-180S motor and a 60Ah LiPo battery. I haven't had the chance to do any speed tests. But I will soon. I love this kayak...
Thank you for sharing this beautiful and Absolutely lovely 3 pice Modular Kayak review Beautful coastline Love it and fabulous video and the awesome so beautiful played love it and the great footage you played my dear beautiful friend C/C keep safe have a beautiful Weekend Much Love from Huggie xoxo
Thanks! Yeah, it’s a great option for those looking for a space saver or if you don’t have car racks. Thanks again for the comment and have a nice day! 👍
I own this exact kayak. I live in an apartment and drive a small mpv. This kayak fits almost anywhere. I' have recently added an HK-180S motor to my kayak with a 60An battery. Love it....
why is there a drain plug though? I thought drain plugs is to let out water that splashes into where you sit, that plug would allow water into the air chambers where it shouldn't be to begin with. I'm confused what the "feature" is for
My guess is to help vent the boat’s sections if it’s stored for a while or left in direct sunlight for too long. The heat and pressure can really start to build up inside these plastic boats and cause it to start bubbling and/or warping. Thanks for the comment and have a great day! 👍
@@CarolinaCampervan completely understand they are for different purposes.. my wife doesn’t understand 😅😂 he finds out about my new purchases through my RU-vid channel haha
Hi, thanks for the video, really considering to purchase this one, as sometimes I fish alone, sometimes with my son, does this look solid if I intend to carry on a roof rack, would those ratchets and plastic pieces hold everything together? Thanks
Thanks for the comment! Technically you can car-top it since it will still hold together, but the manufacturer doesn’t recommend it. Personally, I would not recommend it either. Not that it will break it, but it’s just not how it’s intended to be used. It’s a nice, fun kayak though! 👍
We the Tequila modular kayak. We wanted to put it together at home as practice before taking it out on the water but when we put the middle piece into the end piece, we cannot get them disconnected so we have not been able to use it yet. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the question! It can be a bit tricky to get them apart, but it will get easier with time. What would help if you have a small wedge or something that's not going to damage the boat and as you depress the tab to release the strap slow pry away on the same side. Then just repeat on the other side until you can get you fingers in the gap. I hope this helps. Also way easier with 2 people so you both can pull apart the sections at the same time.
@@CarolinaCampervan i watched one videowhere the guy showed the easiest way was to sit in it, push release latches as you pushed it apart with your feet!
Hi! We have taken it out in windy conditions that caused a good amount of chop and it performed great! Really happy with it. I would take it anywhere that I would take my traditional sit on top. Thanks for watching!
That is awesome. We purchased our directly from the site at Point 65 North Kayak: kayaks.point65.com?ref=jasontaylor8 You can also find them at amazon here: amzn.to/3kI8R9r We really like ours! Hope you do as well!
@@Александр-э1л6э I would say you would be too tall for this kayak. The weight and length would be fine, but I don’t think the foot welds would fit you too well. But not 100 % sure, just my best guess. Have a good day! 👍
