Congratulations 🎊 on your announcement in your last (I think it was the last one, Lolol😄) video! I'm so excited for you! Thank you so very much for all your wonderful videos! 🥰
The PopPlus is an Plus Size fashion event, the ballerina on the video is called Julia Del Bianco, she's a brazilian dancer and ballet teacher who has an amazing program advocating for body diveristy in dance
I really hope whoever puts the clips together for her stops including those entirely. The reaction is always the same, and it's a dangerous activity- we've seen it a hundred times already and we already know what the reaction is going to be.
I know I've seen Maya in Josephine's reaction videos before. Not sure which react vid, but it was definitely about her "nasty" toe pads. There might be more of her in the videos, and some of Melanie.
@@rikdijkhuizen1822 Serenade for Strings in C Major, I. Pezzo in forma di somatina by Tchaikovsky. I highly recommend watching the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra’s recording from 2021. Enjoy!
I don't wear anything in my pointe shoes even the tight is bothering me, and there is nothing more enjoyable you feel like you have so much more control. I'm lucky the fitter found me the perfect pair and gave me the most perfect advices. ❤👌
Thank you Josephine !! I love your videos . I’m 13 in May and have been dancing for almost 10 years you videos are so fun to watch bc I don’t really know any girls my age that have been dancing as long as I have so we can’t really relate. But I feel like you and I can relate a LOT on dance stuff ! One of my dreams is to meet you someday I don’t know if it will come true but I pray it does keep doing what you do you are my inspiration love you ❣️💖💝
I love that you love Josephine’s videos but I just want to point out - just because the other girls haven’t been dancing as long as you, that doesn’t mean you can’t find a way to relate to them! Even a girl who just started could have a love for dance that’s just as deep as yours. Who knows - maybe there are even other dancers you know who also enjoy these videos and you just don’t know about it!
Thank you for your input @@amykathleen2 💕But I mean relate with the struggles 😄There is nothing wrong with being a new dancer no matter how old you are because we all have to start somewhere . Have a great day and thank you for your comment . 🧡
Chux is a waterproof pad that is used on beds, chairs…where incontinence might happen. They’re similar to pee-pee pads people use to potty train puppies.
My late Auntie who had been a principal w/Houston Ballet long ago, loved the Trocks! I took her & my late father to see them, and the Dying Swan was her favorite…and that piece was one of her favorites. Her friends played it at her memorial service. And a couple of years later my now husband and I saw the Trocks in Galveston. I didn’t see the Dying Swsn on the program, but they did it… And like I just did seeing your clip, I was crying and laughing in the theater.
Josephine...I've just discovered your channel and am loving it! It's so mesmerizing. I can't get anything else done when one of these videos comes up. I have to tell you that you reminded me so much of someone, but I couldn't think of who it was until today. It was actually driving me nuts because I coudn't put my finger on it. You totally remind me of Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame. Y'all look alike and have the same friendly, warm vibe. ❤
Chux are like a semi disposable paper towel/cleaning cloth. Come on a roll like a paper towel but are used longer before being thrown out for various cleaning jobs. Verrrrrrrrry thin perforated material that have a very distinct smell.
Tendu derriere in releve is, has always been and will always be THE ONLY WAY to reach a product placed too high at the supermarket aisle. How else? 😅🤷🏻♀️.
Someone probably already commented this but I'll say it just to be sure. A Chux, also called a Chux-cloth is like ( as far as I know ) An Aussie wet-wipe/paper towel/ square of fabric thing. Used for cleaning up mess like liquids - or anything really - but are more reuseable than a single-use wet wipe/paper towel . They are usually a blue and white stripe/checkerd rectangle that comes in a roll, like toilet paper. I've found that they die after awhile. I'm no ballet dancer ( I rollerblade ) but I think that they'd work well as toe-pads. Chux- cloths are pretty cheap in bulk though. ( Love your reactions. I cry and cringe with you)
Josefine is the one person that could have told Maya that not liking/needing toebads was absolutely a thing, and she could have just given the zombie-toepads a dignified funeral years ago!
So I am nowhere close to these people's skills haha but whenever I dance reguarly I too will dance basically wherever, especially if I have to stand around waiting like e.g. the airport 😂😅
Hi Jo, The 2024 Prix de Lausanne vids on YT are amazing, it would be nice to hear you share some of your comments! 🥰 Talk about gorg! Have fun, everybody!

"are getting better and better" I see a video of only cups in the future… >;-)
Chuck’s are the underpads that we used to use at the hospital you put under patients so if they have an accident you will catch the accident and then you can clean them up and it won’t go everywhere and it will save your bed linen
I didn’t put anything in my pointe shoes either. I haven’t had feeling in my feet for decades!🤣 On a serious note, I do not recommend following in my footsteps. My feet are a complete disaster!
I never used anything in my shoes and my feet are still fine. So I guess it depends on the individual . At least if I needed to change my shoes quickly, it was really easy. Also I had been doing serious alterations on my shoes myself until I got custom-fitted at Freed's in London and then could just pop them on once the ribbons and elastic were sewn on.
I wish you'd put the links so I can go watch the videos without your annoying voice yapping on and on. Idc about your opinion. I just want to watch the dancers.
It's more than just knowing that God is real. To be saved from your sins you must choose to believe on God's only son Jesus Christ. He is the only way to eternal life and a life of peace here on earth. Our sins separate all of us from God and the only way to have our sins forgiven is through what Jesus did when he died on the cross and rose again. Admit your a sinner, be willing to turn from your sins (repent). and choose to believe on Jesus. He is the Son of the one true God, He died and rose again to pay for your sins. and aks him to forgive your sins and be your savior. He will. "For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans 6:23 " For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 It's a free gift. Choose Jesus because NO ONE makes it to heaven on their own and he loves you.
Dude, what are you doing? Leaving unsolicited walls of religious text on unrelated videos does nothing but make you look silly. Most of your fellow Christians wish you wouldn't, because it reflects poorly on all Christians, and those who aren't Christian are just glad not to be part of whatever this annoying mess is. As an old pastor once told me: "Worldly people don't need Jesus. Christians need Jesus. If you want to attract worldly people you have to go befriend the worldly people in their world and let them wonder why you're different."
i didnt do ballet BUT in rythmic gymnastics we have a similar thing where we get very attatched to the little toe shoes we wear to help us turn and we tape them back together, we have one pair for competition and one of 2 for practice, the practice ones are 90% tape but the competition ones have to stay prestine. I'm not sure what kind of tape it was but when we'd practice we sweat and the sweat would make the tap and shoe kinda melt and fuze together into weird fabric rocks sorta.
As a plus size girlie who wanted to be a ballerina dancer so bad I can’t tell you how much it healed me to see the PopPlus dancer…but I’ve been a big girl my entire life and was told by my parents I couldn’t do it until I lost weight. (In my adult life I also realize there’s no way we could have possibly afforded it) Obviously I never was able to lose it and still have horrible issues with weight management so seeing this makes me feel so much better for my future kids.😊
From one big girl to another - it's not too late! There is so much joy to be found in picking ballet up as an adult and your size should not stop you. I was so happy when I got back into it to see that I was not alone in being a bigger adult wanting to enjoy the magic of ballet
The PopPlus dancer made my heart soar. My Character dance teacher when I was little was plus sized and it was one of the reasons my mom picked the studio. She wanted me to feel included as a disabled person and because she saw a bigger person, she knew I would be okay. Her name was Julia.
@@dinkvjr It helped my mom that my mom basically said, "She will not have wafer thin teachers." All of my ballet teachers were normal size or plus size at that studio. Julia was also the studio owner and would not put ladies on point shoes until they're ankles were strong enough (she made dancers swim.) When my mom toured the studio, she saw some older teens that were not on pointe because they didn't have the structure. Julia was so strict with the schedule and precise on execution I still remember how warm up goes over 24 years later. I still use those exercises even though I'm an equestrian, not a ballerina. (Still remember how to do my hair and makeup too. You never forget some things. HA HA.)
The plus size dancer is my hero. Her name is Lizzy Howell! She’s amazing. As an adult ballet student she warms my heart. I at 55 was struggling with balance issues due to a CSF leak. I started ballet to help with that. In all my adult life it’s made me more confident and healed the wounds of a life altering accident at 35. My goal is be in point shoes! I’m hooked.
I feel like we need Josephine reacting to Eva Nys Photography’s videos - specifically photoshoots, Maya’s toe pads (though she might’ve already), Ballet But Make It Chaos, and the 20 pirouettes.
Can someone please tell me the name of the ballet and music at 2:38? I can't place it even though I know I've heard it and it's bugging me. Thanks in advance!
I can think of 3 chucks- 1- puppy pads / medical absorbing pads. Aka “chux” cuz you chuck them in the trash 2- reusable kitchen/ dish wipes- think pressed non-woven fabric with holes like mesh basketball shorts but thinner 3- Chuck Taylor shoes by Converse. I honestly wondered which she meant till the photo of the wipes! I could see using the insole of old Chuck Taylor’s as box liners, cut to fit. Cut up puppy pad for sweat absorption and a plastic barrier to slow down the shoe’s absorption of sweat (in a paste shoe). Or wipes like we used to use paper towels in the 80s and 90s. Secretly glad to see it was the wipes, as it seems the least “out there” to me. 🤣 Edited- oh golly, my kid just reminded me it could’ve been “up-chuck” so technically 4 possibilities. 🤢😆🤦🏼♀️💀
In the USA those are called “Readywipes” or “Reddiwipes”, etc. usually not sold on a roll, but pre-sliced into large dish cloth or flour sack towel size. Usually white striped with either blue, yellow, or red, very fine lines of both.
Do ballet dancers get Achilles tears a lot? I'm referring specifically to the last clip, but I would like to know in general. Achilles tears are very common in artistic gymnastics. Thank you for the video! ❤
Some of us sometimes, you know, we all have a weak point/s. But not at your level at all. We just jump, WAG landings are literally unhuman, especially on BB (the "Spieth sound"😖😣). Actually, the very first exercise at the barre is _plié_ (bending knees in different positions like the first girl at the supermarket) because warming up the achis properly is the key to absolutely everything. Point shoes tend to overload inner ankle tendons such as flexor hallucis and flexor digitorum. Males can suffer a bit more due to the specific leaps and jumps they do. 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I danced in the 80s when we had lambswool. I had little pieces that molded to specific areas of the toes & feet. I wonder how the new toe pads would compare?
Hi josophine its my 2nd year of dancing on pointe and i love watching your videos inbetween my classes, i hope you continue to create even more amazing content❤❤
I was fortunate enough to be able to take a masterclass from the Trocks and I was able to see their show right after. During the class, they taught us this same dying swan choreography and I found out that they actually stuff the layers of the tutu with loads and loads of feathers so when the swan first comes on stage there are just heaps of feathers falling! I love the Trocks!!!
I'm a very happy single woman but if I ever get married in a church, I think I NEED my flower girl to dance down the aisle in point shoes with flower petals
How much are toe pads? I mean, I understand you said they’re like a security blanket, but that just looks unsanitary and unprotective. These dancers, or their dance company, spends hundreds or thousands of dollars on pointe shoes and they wrap disgusting rags around their toes! If they have a blister or any kind of wound, they could become infected from these grimy toe pads.
my friend brought me in for a “bring a friend” class at her dance studio once and she was like we’re not supposed to wear toe pads here and i was in shock 😭
