Yes, I have been questioned about it a lot in the past, that's why in my new videos I try my best to share the measurements all the time :). I'm so glad it helps.
Love watching your videos! Your quilling is very inspirational. I've already done two of your flowers. Love quilling and am very excited to try new techniques.
That is just so very pretty! I like how you demo'd with the use of the comb. I personally love using a comb and I also like that you don't start with glue etc. Your hands did the work and it was excellent to watch. Thanks for another great tutorial. Awesome.
Thank you so much Heidi! Yes it can get messy if I used the glue at the start of it. Especially since the tooth of the comb is so fine and so close together. I'm so happy you enjoyed the tutorial. Appreciate it a lot! :)
Thank you for showing us this easy method for the votex shape. I tried the other way and got really frustrated by doing it one step at a time. Thanks again.
Awesome artistic work! Marvelous! Thanks soooooo much for showing ... will try it for sure and have to be patient when the first, the second and even the third will not be as beautiful as you show here! But no master fell from heaven... or? But you are an artist! Gorgeous!
Thank you so much for your lovely sweet comment! It's always a pleasure for me to share. Yes, you do have to be very patient when it comes to quilling, especially with vortex shapes like this. Believe me, I too make mistakes and I learn a lot from mistakes. It helps me improve. Thank you again, I do wish you all the best in quilling! Have fun! :)
This is great because I have been struggling making the vortex design and you made it look so simple. I’m going to try this method for sure! Does the loops on the comb have to be small to achieve this result or can the loops be bigger?
I really REALLY like the vortex design idea, but sans the added bling/flower center; it really takes away from the elegance of beautiful geometry. & I love that you cut your own paper, as I always found it puzzling that stores sell strips! Thanks for the vid. & be well. 🌸
Thank you for this tutorial Azlina! Maybe I can finally master the vortex. I like the way you did this one with the comb. I think that might make the difference for me.❤
Really like the vortex you do and you make it look so easy. I am going to try this method as the other way is very hard work for me and I get really frustrated with it
Thank you so much Marie! I'm so sorry for the late reply! I did make a video on how to use a quilling needle and also a quilling slotted quilling tool, do check them out at my quilling tutorial playlist at the link here ru-vid.com/group/PLeKWgA54EvMSYeftSiBWcacKpxsZhIcTc
Great video and your way of explaining is very clear. However, I do everything the way you show and tell but still I do not get the vortex shape! I really do not know what I am doing wrong.
Hello Desiree, I wish I was there with you to guide you step by step :(. It's frustrating I know! Perhaps it has to do with the type of paper you used? Make sure it's not very thick. I used an 80gsm paper. The thinner the paper, the better.
Hello Jennifer! You're most welcome and thank you for watching it, I really appreciate it a lot. The comb I used for this tutorial is actually a pet comb that I bought from DAISO. But you can find similar fine tooth comb like that in various designs at other pet stores. It's actually a flea comb. :)
Azlina, you did a great job and even let your fingers do the talking. Well done:) I have a few questions you used 5mm strips for this project, does it work equally as well with 3 mm or even smaller strips? Second question, the handle of your homemade slotted tool, what did you use? I saw Bridget made hers with tight coils but yours is different.
Hi Susan! Thank you so much! :) I definitely feel that using 3mm strips or even smaller strips than 3mm would be very difficult to handle. It tends to fall apart easily. I've tried it before and it's so challenging for me. Yes, my handmade slotted quilling tool is a little different from Bridget's tight coils quilling tool. I don''t tell anyone how I made it because it's actually quite difficult to make and explain in text. Perhaps one day I can do a video tutorial on that for all to see.
Hi there Kitty and Ruben! I've been so busy with other responsibilities plus I haven't been in the best of health. Do pray for my good health and I really hope to be able to make more videos soon! May God bless you too!! :)
Are you asking about the slotted quilling tool?? It's a slotted quilling tool that I made myself that's why it looks a little different from the standard quilling tool. And I used a pasta machine to cut the quilling paper too. Hope that answers your question :).
Hello! Thank you so much for watching my quilling tutorial. Ok the quilling comb that I used it actually a flea comb that you can buy from pet stores. I bought mine from DAISO. Hope that helps! All the best to you! :)
Hello June, Yes, I so sorry about that. Been so long since I posted anything anywhere really. I'm really working on improving my health and also working on new quilling designs. Can't wait to get the videos done and upload them on RU-vid. Thank you again for your concern, I truly appreciate it a lot! :)
