Amazing comment--it took a couple of secs to understand. I'm cursed in the opposite way with a pretty good, vivid & startk memory. So, the worst part of a good memory is not being able to re-watch Poirot too much!
@@mikeg9305 I too have an excellent memory but still watch magnificent Poirot time & time again. I have devised little distractions…watch a few Poirots, then a few Midsomer Murders, then a few Miss Marple & then a few Lewis all over a period of a few months. My focus on re watching any show is to shift focus on differing details & I’m surprised by what I may have missed previously or simply forgotten. By the time I get back to watching Poirot again I find I’m still delighted by the whole production. Not once have I ever thought it’s time to stop 😊
@@MyMags8 Well, that's an interesting technique & it seems to be working for you. Yeah I love Poirot not only for the mystery, his method but the world of Poirot: the English locations, the dress of ppl back then, the "class" the style & grace & even the decadence.
Me too. I have yet to see Netflix or anyone do anything anyway near comprable other than Foyle’s war and that is very different though extremely high quality. I am listening to the audiobooks now read by Hugh Frazier, what an excellent speaker!
I know what you mean. It seems like BBC TV is more real and alive.. My best friend and her husband introducted me to masterpiece and PBS yrs ago and I never stopped watching
My 22 year old grand daughter watched an episode and was taken with Poirot's demeanor. She said, "It would be great if more men were classy, polite and kind as Poirot."
It would also be great if women today weren't promiscious narcissist who abort children by the thousands. Guess both genders have a lot of work to do to improve.
I was a young boy when I saw poirot for the first time, he was the inspiration to me becoming a psychologist, I was amused by the famous little grey cells etc, yeah David suchet, Hugh Frazer, Phillip Jackson and Pauline Moran will always be a part of my heart, life, and my psychological career
I read all the books of Hercule Poirot probably 30 years ago and can only imagine the scenes. Now I surely enjoy watching the movies and hearing the french dialect and accent of Poirot.
Sir Suchet David has given the best Hercule Poirrot. I watch each episode mesmerized. The cast is of the finest actors. I like the "art nouveau" delicate flair. A good production.
I can not stop watching Poitot… I ve cried at the beginning… I was so sad…and finally he was alive. All the time thinking why? Suddenly Iremembered having watched Poitot s last case a long time ago and there I cried his death for the first time. What a relief! For those who love this character so much, it is a horrible feeling… Thank you Mr Suchet, with all my heart! Thanks so much for uploading this superb videos! Best wishes from Uruguay, Southamerica also to all those who watch these videos.
You might want to put a spoiler warning next time as I was reading comments I had not yet watched the part unfortunately That part was spoiled for me 😔
On the rewatch: it’s hilarious to see Jaap write the inmemoriam’s, and the valet protesting he would have been happy to. Imagine the man does a better job at cursive….
I started reading the books in 7th grade and started with the one he dies in. So every book after that was a happy reunion. 🥰 I really should go read them all again. It's been too long!
Sir David Suchet's acting is superb!! Even when running for his life he remains absolutely in character!! As somebody else pointed out, he could play any character he chooses. His portrayal of Poirot is unsurpassed, and will remain so. Just as Hastings, Japp and Miss Lemon cannot be replaced. Together they formed a formidable Big 4. 😆😆😆😆👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤❤
Congratulations to Sir David Suchet for being the very best Hercule Poirot🫖 What a fabulous team of superb artists 🌷 Wish he could still play his unique role,. Life is not the same without him 🥀 Thank you so much for sharing with us 🌜🌗🌛🪐🌏💥✨
Sir David Suchet a man beyond his unique insightful character. A talented magnetic gentlemen, just cannot imagine kissing him with that greasy mustache.
It is always good to see an old friend again. It is thrilling to be with Him once more; how I have missed him! Thank you for bringing Hercule back to me once more.
David Suchet is amazing. I am not the biggest Christie fan. But David as Piorot with Hugh Frasier Captain Hastings, Miss Lemon, the Inspector, I love it. Captivating. This one is so bitter sweet. Along with Nero Wolf, Timothy, Maury, Fritz and Cramer are THE best. CUNBERBATCH and Friedman as the modern Sherlock Holmes. These 3 mystery series ruin me for others
Wow! Excellent! I was spellbound. Every Poirot is such a treat, this one was no exception. Thanks for posting this one. I'm new to this series,....only have seen about 5 so far. Caught the first ones on my local PBS station in Columbus, Ohio. Now I think I am getting addicted. I love the set designs and costumes as much as the characters. Living while trying to stay safe while a virus is destroying all humanity everywhere, globally. I happy to hide from reality immersed in a 1920s noir story.
The entire series is wonderful - it includes the Poirot short stories as well - as the seasons progress you can see them all really find their footing; both stories and performances deepen immensely as the series goes along. Season 9 is especially topnotch - Five Little Pigs, Sad Cypress, Death on the Nile and The Hollow - which happen to be four of Christie's best books, as well.
@@markingtime1024 For fun I try to find historical errors in staging, and backgrounds, and I can't. They do use some chicanery, to change a certain iconic Art Deco buildings, and super-impose another name on it, to turn it in a home, versus an office. Like The Hoover Vacuum building,...a well known, office building with specific Deco, details. But most people would never notice.
Anyway now this was a great poirot episode or mini movie thankyou so much enjoyed it very muchand kept me riveted all throughout the movie they were such great actors and are never forgotten by the fans or followers of Agatha Christy 😍🥰
I am addicted to M. Poirot's stories. I have about 12 of CD's which we enjoyed with my kids at home. Such wonderful stories of Agatha Christie. Thank you Madam for the joy you left and thanks to You tube for the upload. Love from South Africa
Many of the secondary and tertiary actors in these productions were really excellent. E.g., the maid at the home of the second murder was quite well played.
I like the double entendre of the title, both this sinister organization, and the "Big Four" of Poirot, Hastings, Japp and Lemon. But it would've been nice to see that Four all partaking in one last adventure together in accordance with the title. As such, it's only Poirot and Japp who do anything, and this is the last time we see Japp and Lemon in the series.
kind of a subtle reassurance at the start, at the end of the opening immediately after they toast their dead friend, just before the episode title, up pops "David Suchet" as the first credit; which would seem to indicate we'll get to see Poirot alive at some point not necessarily a guarantee that rumor of his death is somewhat exaggerated, but certainly an immediate ray of hope
You'd also enjoy "A Touch of Frost" and "Inspector Morse". "Prime Suspect" with Hellen Mirron" and "Cracker" with Robby Coltrane. All British detective shows.
@@jonness8927 I received your comment & very much appreciate you giving me this info! I tried, but was unable to find, a British series that had a Union Jack beside each title listed. I figured if anyone knew it would be you! God Bless you & your family, Michael :o)
now seen the rest. I have not (yet) read the book, so the indignation of the people writing here is unknown to me...but good friend actors of the high level working together is aways a deep pleasure or those priveledged to witness their masterpieces unrolling ; ) Thank you Nick Greece, for this one ! And of course the story itself applies and needs to be seen in this time now 2021, more than ever. And understood, and then that clarity applied, to halt this horrible charade that is being used to justify maiming and hurting billions, if they are allowed to continue to have their way. And Poirot is not here among us, sadly...
I was thinking the same thing. What's happening in the world, is utterly disgusting. I wish we had real people like Poirot in the world, who wouldn't sell out, but continue to fight for the truth, and what's right, no matter what the cost. I'm so sick of what's going on, and it makes me wonder where and when it will end.
@@sarahhearn-vonfoerster7401 - sadly, you Madame must be residing beneath a large rock, non? Do you truly not see nor feel the nearly complete & utter collapse of the economies of Western civilization surrounding us? Surely you don’t tally these world events as mere coincidences. There is no such thing as coincidence. The circumstances we find ourselves in were most definitely executed on purpose & by design - well planned & thought out over a long period of time. With millions of lives already lost across the globe, indications from the best & brightest minds working to untangle this Gordian knot, strongly suggest that this is but the tip of the iceberg and the real carnage has yet to begin. Time to wake from your peaceful slumber and pay attention.
@@maureengauvin1768 Requesting clarification of the use of excessive hyperbole is quite reasonable, to most intelligent people 😀!! It hardly qualifies me as a rock dweller, although I have seen some very attractive, livable grottos in my day !
@@sarahhearn-vonfoerster7401 - The two comments that prompted your question were most definitely not examples of hyperbole. You responded on an open public forum that you were not aware of the situation the two posts were describing. I merely responded to your query with concrete well established facts. My intent was to inform you of that which had apparently escaped your notice. C’est ça bien. Have a wonderful day.
There are still good, polite men and women in societies, all well-schooled and taught good manners. One just has to move in the right societies and groups. ❤
Love this series of Poirot It was very nice to see the original cast all together again, wished they had another one, This really didn't follow the book exactly , it was a very good production, still it was nice to see everyone and how they had changed sadly he dies in one and that is how she ended her series of Poirot
I love the theme , which would have seemed as such a stretch of the imagination a few years ago, that one man's bottemless and irrational need could destabilize the whole globe. Well.....
As I washed the show it reminds me of what's happening right now in our world.... Like how life is one big curtain and smoke screens camera... Like detective told reporter publish what is fact instead of makeup lies... Or half truth.
I don't know if it is Mr souchet or agatha Christie who make this very likeful. But what ever it is or who ever it is , I think poirot movies will always be liked . Thank you
Manners and how you treat others should be a priority, unfortunately we live in a selfish, ugly world at times, but there are some who refresh the world, with kindness, and even if no one responds to your hellos or smiles, it still effects the world in a positive way, show empathy, be patient and forgiving, for it will come to you in the quiet times when your alone, when you look in a mirror, you will see a good soul. 🙏
I am so glad you uploaded this. I must point out, though, that this fascinating and fun story has very LITTLE to do with the book that Agatha Christie wrote--which was AMAZING!
