Every Farmer (and Farm Organisation) using Glyphosate and or GMO traited seed, should see and discuss this video for its implications to the farm and farm family as well as the consuming public. I have listened and researched this issue in ENGLISH and GERMAN. Willing to facilitate and lead discussion.
Demand for organics, and growing your own pesticide free food is increasing., People who can afford the extra price choose organic or biodynamic foods, in order to avoid the toxic glyphosate. The biggest lines at our local markets are for organic/ biodynamic food. .
This video has been here for at least 4 years - since one of the two other comments (the only comments here beside my two) was left four years ago. Unless this video is mostly hidden from the public, there’s no other good reason for the number of comments.
When phosphate ore is refined into elemental phosphorous, it leaves a radioactive by-product known as slag. Monsanto’s elemental phosphorous facility, situated just a few miles from its phosphate mines, produces prodigious quantities of slag that contains elevated concentrations of radioactive material. For years, this slag was actually sold to the town of Soda Springs and nearby Pocatello, and people built their homes and roadways out it. In the 1980s, however, the EPA conducted a radiological survey of the community and warned that citizens might be at risk from elevated gamma ray exposure. The study concluded that if business continued as usual in Soda Springs, within four decades “the probability of contracting cancer due to exposure from elemental phosphorous slag” would “be about one chance in 2,500 in Pocatello and one chance in 700 in Soda Springs.”
I'm not going to disagree with the truth of Mr. Dupont's statement, but just comment about what it means. Phosphorus, in nature, has only one isotope, and it is stable, not radioactive. Scientists can make radioactive isotopes of phosphorus, but they have half lives of at most a few minutes so they are all gone in a few days. That means that anything radioactive that came out of their mine was NOT phosphorus. Using a radioactive slag for building homes and roadways sounds like a pretty stupid thing to do, but it has absolutely no relationship to the safety of glyphosate.
Bit confused here where they are saying that the other ingredients are more toxic than the glyphosate. As I have heard it before, the additional ingredients are toxic not independently of the glyphosate but because they facilitate the toxic effect of the glyphosate. They are added for that reason, to enhance the potency of the glyphosate as a herbicide by over 1000x. Then they don't submit that version for testing and test only the basic unenhanced glyphosate without the additional chemicals..
I recently learned that glyphosate went off patent in 2007 and it's now mostly produced in China. I wonder if they use it in their agriculture, what their rates of related diseases are. I heard Australia is being pounded with it. Glyphosate is toxic in parts in billion. EPA allows parts per million. EPA now saying that a "certain amount of glyphosate is allowable in organic foods". I don't know what that amount is. Also, Roundup, with all the adjuvants that drive glyphosate into the cells, is far more toxic than glyphosate alone. Look up Stephanie Seneff, Jeffrey Smith, Don Huber. Don has been attacked by debunkers quite severely, I suspect because his credentials are so powerful.
Elaine Kubiak, I had a Urologist in Pittsburgh in about 1960, how do you know that fact that glyphosate is toxic, a document , in parts per billion ? Will you tell me , rapplegate48@gmail.com! We can not trust U. S. EPA ! An approximate , but , do not rely on me , incidence of NHL , is about one / 80,000!
Elaine Kubiak: I'm sure that China uses major chemicals(like glyphosate)in their agriculture...PLUS...until recently, they were IMPORTING much of their food from the U.S.(and our "commodities" are nearly 100% "GMO.") This whole thing has more to do with a global de-population agenda than anything else....very dark and diabolical, (and the "WHO" is also involved!)
Chinese fruits are sold in Russia. Infertility became a problem. Gmo banned in Russia except for feeding animals. Their fruits are like plastic. It's not just herbicide they also extensively use many other chemicals. Their bees died and Chinese farmers were pollinating crops by hands. Also indication of glyphosate usage. Russia also use glyphosate. Our bees also died. Our agriculture say they use it less than American agriculture. What an achievement! USA use 300 more glyphosate now than in 1970s
@@DukeGMOLOL : One has to wonder how they manipulated statistics to come out with that 'porkie pie', as one does not have to look very far in ones family, community or country to set of the BS meter flashing.
3 years later and you can't buy glyphosate in the shops here in France. They plan to curb its usage commercially by 80% in the next year or two, but I'm not sure any suggestions as to its replacement have been made, and what risks + side effects may arise from that. Also, I'd like to point out that a large part of the problem is a lack of biodiversity. Often it's the same crops grown time and time again, and in many regions throughout the world much of it is grown as feed for animals. Reduce the consumption of animals, increase the diversity of what is grown, and that alone will solve a good number of the problems the world faces right now.
Glyphosate has always been a chelator that binds and prevents the absorption of micronutrients by the growing crops, thus the crops being effected are less nutritious than those grown not using Glyphosate.
Surely when you look in the mirror you see the idiot that you are, but sorry to realize that you are supporting a failed technology that cannot fulfill any of the promises it has made to date.No production increases,No reductions in pesticides,Only more weeds developing immunity to the herbicides,More insects developing resistance to the BT genetically engineered in the corn and cotton plants thus GMO's have not fulfilled any promises even of feeding the world except for more pesticides in the soils, waters and foods/feeds where they are a menace to every living being on the planet.Got any more bright ideas for an encore Nutcase.Of the two of us I am obviously the more astute about what you are trying to accomplish and it is not good what you are preaching about as it is more sickness and cancers and a blight on the face of the planet just as you are.
The teid increases you are stating are mistakes and may be honest, but mistakes none the less and this has been proven , but you will never accept that statement and will never correct your stance accordingly.
G. Wayne: => _"Glyphosate has always been a chelator"_ dsndicmsa (known Monsanto troll) => _"really you have data showing that..."_ answer: is a patent good enough for you?
Thank you for a well researched and balanced report. I find it ironic that all the ads that are populated on this clip are Home Depot Round UP. Big Brother is active....

@@alanwhitham6429 - Yep. I believed if Glyphosate was thoroughly and impartially researched, it could be shown that it has so many negative effects that they might outweigh the overall positive effects and supposed increased crop yields, such that the product should potentially even be banned.
@@alanwhitham6429 - And I fully believe Monsanto (and all the other big AgroScience corporations), have purposely put forth "Glyphosate" as the star effector of the product. But this documentary (or others) and even the manufacturers I believe have stated their are hundreds or thousands of other toxic chemicals in the product (RoundUp). Many of these other chemicals could be far more toxic to life and the biosphere, than Glyphosate. Yet the regulators aren't testing for them (or testing their toxicity to living organisms), and the corporations are defending the formulas in secret as "Intellectual Property" (i.e. "trade secrets").
@@Sovereign_Citizen_LEO You're absolutely right .The system is totally corrupt and works against the common interest . I can't say it's simply motivated by greed , I wish I could but I think it's much more sinister that that . Our governments do not serve us , corporate money owns politics and politicians will do little or nothing to oppose corporate power . I just can't see a good ending to this . Chemicals , food , pharmaceuticals and government , all in league with each other all working against us . The outlook is pretty bleak . 5 G might be another big threat to our health , I'm pretty sure it is , and chemtrails . I'm reminded of that JFK speech , the one that most likely got him killed .
I accidentally had roundup poor on my hand the other day. Looks like I will probably now get cancer in 10 years... my trash of a company should make it mandatory to wear thick gloves and protective wear when using roundup herbicide. I have to spray it almost daily on walkways for clients. My supervisor told me “it’s safer than vinegar.”
I have used roundup for thirty five years and have had the occasional splash with good health so far. However, exposure to any damaging thing whether sunlight or toxins needs to be minimized. I always use rubber gloves, rubber boots and coveralls. Any exposure gets rinsed and washed right away. Nothing is absolutely safe. Even water can kill you if overconsumed.
AcidityWormhole no. It's cheaper than vinegar. They should legally provide you with PPE. Extended that to a face mask. Look at that black chap who just sued and won.... start building your case, guy... log it all.
Selalini won the defamation lawsuit for the accusations GMO peddlers made against them and their study. The Seralini study has since been republished. The original journal that appointed a ex-Monsanto editor who retracted their study has been boycotted by over 1400 scientists for "Violating Code and Ethics". Only recently did the FDA say they will test for glyphosate. Health Canada's using 20 yr old guidelines, patent owner 90 days studies and "equivalency argument" to justify the release new multi-stacked Novel Foods. The more we learn, the more it looks like gross negligence. How many people suffer due to politics?
Kim Hunter , no Court is asking Gilles Seralini to testify ? He would not answer my e-mail about his taking 2000 blood draws and then fail to study them and report them . They may have been proof . He may not have seen that truth because he was a Biologist , not a blood physician ! Could he have been paid off ? I have no idea ? An explanation is necessary by his peers to find truth !
I’m a nobody that rented two plots in my city’s community garden here in the US. The city’s responsible for the 66 plots, and sprays glyphosate regularly, in the inactive beds and around all the beds, and has for years. Our plants are mutated, stunted, if they even live at all. 2/3 of the beds are vacant because the growing conditions are abysmal. Our local Master Gardeners, that used to volunteer there for years, refuse to come because the city won’t make any changes. People like me, new to the city, are completely unaware of the issues, and rent the spaces. I have begged the city to stop spraying glyphosate. They flat out refused to stop, and adamantly stick to the Monsanto generated data. They even go as far to say it’s beneficial to the soil and plants. Deciding if I even have the energy to fight the city.
About Congressmen going to jail, I passed it , above , that person is absolutely correct , they were guilty in and since 1968 for Malfeasance for passing MDL 1407 . It is ATTY GEN. Sessions who needs to bring those charges based on what you and I, and others say . And lobbyists , too. It was a felonius act , this is all now history that has to be corrected . The British were guilty of that in New Jersey in 1700's . Someone said Monsanto were slave holders in early history !

The result when big business annexed agriculture in the name of The Profit ; the steady undermining of food security, price & cancer increases, bankruptcy, unemployment... our worst nightmare come true and there is only one realistic solution : Separate economy and politics from agriculture and conform to organic/bio-dynamic farming practice as part of re-acculturating a lost humanity. As a lawn enthusiast, I carefully only use this product in the lawn for renovation, and I dispose of the clippings/thatch at the dump, not in the compost pile. And it's pretty much a 1 time treatment. I'd never use this stuff in my garden though! No way!
In New Zealand, they spray the pasture with glysophate, wait for it to brown off, then send the dairy cows in to eat the dry brown dead (poisonous) grass before sowing new pasture in the fields. It's disgusting! The milk tastes bitter sometimes and I think it's from the roundup weedspray

You're just going to disregard dosage? The amount that remains after harvesting and washing your food would obviously have a different effect than spraying it on your face. To the people claiming they should drink a glass of it if it's safe: drinking a concentrated acid like that is a bad idea regardless of glyphosate's toxicity.
We know what the truth is as much as a man with no money is an equal to a wealthy man. It's about the Billions not only Monsanto gets but the US dominating food production worldwide. Trade would collapse!
Just used Glyphosphate on a large area of garden with masses of weeds. Its extremely effective if you are not in a hurry. But having seen this I won't be using it again for a while on that land. OK to use it as a one off to regain control of land, but not for trivial stuff like avoiding tilling which now has its own mechanical technology improvements. With RTK/GPS it wont be long before tilling machines drive themselves optimally with 1cm accuracy 24x7. Lawn mowers already do it.
In the small, rural, farming community where I attended school, they spent 3 years teaching us about conservation in our jr high science classes. It's so sad that most people can't understand these simple concepts these days. Even my husband, whose parents rented an old farmhouse during his youth, doesn't understand how harmful these things are and keeps defending Roundup...because "the farmers back home used it". 🙄
I would like to see this company use their triillions to make an ethical weedkiller, or a solution that doesn't involve killing or poisoning people animals and the soil and plants.
Not "millions" but hundreds of BILLIONS... however, since this filming their "great merger" (with Bayer) has possibly delivered them and their for - profit shareholders their just gliphosate soaked dessert. What is done through greed and deception may appear to prosper but, eventually, their house will fall around their own deafened ears and those of the people who have been sucked in with them. Monsanto gladly soaked Vietnam in deadly poison; now they are doing the same to America and many other countries all for VERY big bucks!
@@DukeGMOLOL but it absolutely does. Have you been following the mounting cases regarding non hogkins lymphoma? That is a type of cancer. Unfortunately research and FDA approval only follows cancer. There are hundreds if not thousands of non peer reviewed research papers that show evidence that human gut microbiome is seriously compromised by the presence of glyphosate in foods. Non peer reviewed simply means scientists are not picking these papers to review out of the sea of tens of thousands of papers submitted. That doesn't detract from their validity.
@@DukeGMOLOL additionally the use of glyphosate has been bastardized. As a herbicide it does its job so well that wheat farmers double tap their fields. Spraying the field few weeks before harvest dries out the plant by essentially killing it where it stands. This means higher profit margin due to less processing time to separate the kernel from the stalk. This is NOT what it should be used for and is a reflection of the farmers struggle to stay above board in profit by cutting corners. This affects your health in ways that we cannot comprehend yet. Back to my original statement, it doesn't matter if it doesn't cause cancer because there are so many ways it can harm humans and nature which we aren't paying attention to.
No, the industry prohibited its info. Doctors knew but were not allowed to say anything. In fact they were paid to suggest smoking to their patiens. As they themselves smoked also. Until doctors and especially nurses started getti g hing rates of cancers in the 70s and 80s.

I always thought my daughter's autism had everything to do with her special diet, but now I'm 98% convinced that growing my food organically is the way to go to even just lower her symptoms, and my son's ADHD as well. As a chef, I'm angry and dumbfounded. This is outrageous. Thank you for informing us all, specially not blocking this video in the U.S.
@Jennifer Ruiz-Arzola I am angry too at this glyphosate disaster! Just look at the pictures in the 2016 report by Charles M. Benbrook called: "Trends in glyphosate herbicide use in the United States and globally" One graph shows that real heavy use of glyphosate began in 1996 (introduction of GMO) and in 2005 probably the introduction of dessication (drying seed before harvest with glyphosate). Eating organic as much as possible is the best start! I also want to say that reading any of Grant Genereux's three free ebooks and/or joining Dr. Garrett Smith's vitamin A detox program is a huge part towards increased health. Personally I can now eat (after 1 year) some gluten containing grains after having to be gluten-free for over a decade. Maybe a lot of my reaction was to glyphosate in conventional wheat.
@@popeyegordon You obviously didn't watch the video with all the evidence of glyphosate dangers. Sprinkle some on your food if it is less toxic than salt. Tell all the farmers dying with cancer related diseases due to glyphosate that it is safe.

I don't understand why GMOs are attacked. Almost every single crop that we have today has been modified by humans whether or not softly or harshly. GMOs have great potential. Since I made the prior comment and Bernie has made some strange moves,I have decided to write him in and then to vote for every Green party candidate on the ballot in the hope that others will follow me. Obama and Hi//y support GMO's and will pass the TPP and both of these issues will make a further mess of the worlds health and the US ag export lost as a lot of other countries have halted GMO cultivation and in the food and feed chains so the Americans will be stuck with eating GMO's and now that Obama has passed the DARK act there is no easy manner to see what's in our foods.I have informed Obama that I am no longer a democratic Party member and I've never been a GOP fan as they stopped serving the common good a very long time ago with Reagan.I'll be writing in Bernie as my candidate for president and then every Green party candidate on the ballot for my state of Texas where the GOP has made a pure mess of BS for the people to have to endure."W" was a real piece of shit as governwhore and Parry was his poster child and now the idiot we have is still toeing the GOP party line and wasting our time. @@popeyegordon - If it's true, that is largely because of advances in health and medical sciences (but also because of Organic farming movements and many other such things). So many variables missing. Very one sided video played to appear objective. Stewardship is the key to good farming. To much of anyone thing is not good. Same with not enough, can also be harmful. Timing is also very important for when and what will be done in farming. We are always learning. Always trying to improve.
If the video showed anything, it's that companies and regulators aren't necassarily interested in learning or improving, only maintaining the status quo. Who can stand in the way when there's so much money to be made?
Whether these claims are true or not I have a simple question. If roundup is so poisonous then how can crops grow right after other crops are harvested after they have been sprayed? GMO perhaps?
