I just cannot understand why people judged Lalezar. That really shows the level of maturity, conscience and intelligence of certain people. Lalezar didn't save Shivekar because of good reasons, she was lying and wasting the empire's funds. I don't say I agreed with her end but Mehmet is a child, above all a child who did nothing to Kosem, he is the Sultan of the Ottoman empire. I really cannot see how and why people are judging Lalezar's decisions of saving Mehmet.

@Leo I always supported Kosem(and she is my favourite character) in the series,but this time no. She had gone really mad and heartless,like Dilruba in the last episode. Without mercy, ordering Lalezar to be killed, because she tried to save a sultan, is just no.

Just like Sumbul, the loyalty of Haci Mustafa is very perturbing. They have to much blind loyalty which make them horrible thing sometimes ( Sumbul help to hang the poor Nadia and after with his blind loyalty make a blind hate to Nurbanu and eventually Selim as he help Mihrimah without remorse to try to remove him while Haci was agreed to poison a child and to kill Lalezar). Even if I like them very much they don't proud moment sometimes even if they have a story: Sumbul had maybe too much blind loyalty as he was kidnapped as a child, had an horrible mutilation, had see some sehzade die( I think that Mehmed and Cihangir death perturb him a lot) so in his own way maybe want have people who like him sincerily ( like Hurrem even if she was a stressful boss she appreciated him really). Haci was surely mutilated , had been in exile a lot of times , had betray Handan, so maybe that's why he would have a blind loyalty to Kosem because he don't want to loser another master whatever the price

The darkness of the series at this point is a perfect testament for everyone to see, how a whole team of production can suffer when the scenario is not right. The lighting, or the lack of it, is not a deliberate choice of the director, who wants to signify something with it. This is a soap opera after all, the lighting should be full on and dramatic; we’re not in a noir film. Yet, because the scenario is so weak, because there is no action going on at all, other than a fatalistic sequence of events as they’re told in a history textbook, the director is compelled naturally to create the according atmosphere. There is no action at all going on; there is no agency , no one is a subjective agent that acts independently, with his own intelligence and desires; so, no real actors, no life, no light. This is exactly what happened with the twin sister of this series, Game of Thrones. As the scenario became weaker and weaker, and the action came to a halt, and the characters became less and less intelligent, began repeating the same lines over and over and there was no meaningful interaction anymore, so the lighting lessened and lessened, until at some point you could barely see what was on screen. I find myself increasing the brightness of my phone to watch those scenes! This should be a big lesson for the movie and especially series making industry. The scenario is the beginning and end of every work. If it is good it motivates everyone to do the best job they can; if it’s worthless, it drags everyone down with it. So they better apply more control to who they hire as scriptwriters, and they better reproach the slackers!

Kosem... I know what you did that... Because every time you spare an innocent horrible things happen to you and the State ( she spare Mustafa and we know what did Dilruba each time , Halime and Davut; she spare Bayezid and we know what did Gulbahar and Sinan). I know that after you have to sacrifice Ibrahim and supervise his execution because it is the only right thing to do to him and the State you wasn't in good mind but you shouldn't do that. And then because Lalezar do the right thing you killed her when Safiye did nothing to Bulbul when he spare you. It was clearly not one of your best moment even if you're still my favorite character. And Turhan can be a clown sometimes I mean I understand why she was angry to Kosem but when she said " you show no mercy of your son" it was clearly her who forced her hand and do everything she can for make Kosem to kill Ibrahim, it seems that she forget that. Rip Lalezar you was such a good kalfa and did your duty. Melek Kalfa had been useful for once ( plus when she protect Ibrahim to Murad) so we have to feast that XD

I don't think Turhan minded what position she had, as long as her son was safe she didn't mind. She never cared for positions. They weren't wrong, valide sultan started to make changes, maaaany changes in the way the empire works. I don't know what was her plans but I think she wanted to change the system , that was her purpose and people didn't like it. While it has nothing to do with mehmed and Turhan, there was no problem with them, it has everything to do with everyone else. I read that the night of 1651 they wanted to remove her and take her to old palace, that was the decision. We don't know what happened but instead of taking to old palace, they ... Ended her?

@@milacolman You mentioned just two of the long list of male sultans of that era; you are just proving the point. And Murad wasn’t even that great. Domestically he was a cruel tyrant. Can’t be compared to the flourishing times of Suleyman. So in reality only Suleyman is a strong sultan. But Suleyman doesn’t even belong in the era of the sultanate of women; that era started right after him. The point remains: weak men, and scheming women. You think you are going to disprove it by mentioning irrelevant names? Selim, Ahmed, Osman, Mustafa, Ibrahim. Why don’t you mention them? This is what we mean by weak men. The sultanate of women was a decadent era.
