You should go for a fairy-type “mono” locke in a pre-gen-6 game, using only Pokémon that gain the fairy type in gen 6. I haven’t heard of someone doing something like that before, plus you get to use a bunch of less-often used Pokémon. Bonus points if you use audino and/or altaria, since they gain the type on mega-evolving. Edit: another fun one might be a fossil-locke in either BD/SP or SW/SH, though you might need to ask your uncle jimtendo for a starter for the early routes.

The Duplos jokes made me laugh hard. Great run as always. You could also find Tynamo in Seaside Cave, so you could have had a sixth member and another Ground immunity too

In the cave that you have to go through to get to the Plasma Frigate, you can get a wild tynamo there as a rare encounter, so you could have had a full team of 6 for the end.

Finally a challenge where you use the magnemite line! In gen 5 it resists every type in the game except for fire, fighting, ground, and water, which is absolutely insane

It must be so weird for other trainers during a nuzlocke, like, they must be like “why not just go to the Pokemon center and get your Pokemon back?”

I adore the style of explaining the character and quirks of the pokemon as the story goes on based on their nature and actions. I would love if that was done in more videos in the future, but I know writing a script is hard enough as it is without having to write characters.

It’s a shame Franklin died so early, since Encore with a ground immunity and good speed is godly for a mono electric team, basically allowing you to spam Encore to keep opponents locked into a ground move while you chip away at it. It’s amazing you managed to finish the fun without a ground immunity, so great job!

Excited for some galvantula use in this playthrough, a really good team member with compound eyes thunder and such a cool design

*RUN SUGGESTION:* An extreme Nuzlocke where you can only use one Pokémon (whose final evo is) of any given type. So for example, if your starter is Fennekin and your first encounter on a route is Ralts, that encounter is lost, because Delphox already eats up the "Psychic type" slot on your team. This would continuously limit the Pokémon you can catch, but also determine them as you progress, meaning you wouldn't be able to plan your team ahead of time like you often can in most of your runs. Naturally, skipping an eligible encounter to save a type slot or two is a risk-reward strategy too. Which game? Any of them, but X&Y have possibly the most expansive dex and anything pre-Fairy means one less type to use.

Love all your videos, but this one was especially great! All the Duplo jokes around Druddigon actually had me laughing out loud. 🤣 I've been tossing around the idea of trying a Shield Nuzlocke (maaaybe hardcore, lol) using only doggos, and your content has been a pretty big inspiration in that! can confirm that Magnezone is incredible, I used one on my Brilliant Diamond team and it really pulled it's weight. I actually beat Meylene's Lucario using Magnemite, because it gets both Thunder Wave AND Supersonic for that sweet sweet Parafusion combo.

Honestly, monolockes for drayano hacks are extremely fun to do and watch. I've done a few non-nuzlocke monotypes of blaze black 2 and they were always amazing, considering the expanded dex and movepools.

I actually did this challenge but wiped to clay because my etectabuzz's fire punch low rolled on the excadrill and literrally every thing else on my team didn't stand a chance since clay healed

In the US it was adopted in 1918 during war time--but it was deeply unpopular, especially with farmers. From 1942-1945 during WWII, it was instituted by FDR. Between 1945 and 1966, it was no longer standardized due to the aforementioned unpopularity. During that time frame, you could take a 35 mile bus ride from a town in Ohio to a town in West Virginia and go through like 7 time zones. It wasn't until the Uniform Time Act of 1966 that DST was federally standardized. Fun fact, while most of Arizona doesn't have daylight savings time, the Navajo Nation does.

I love your videos so much and rewatch them all the time, and I’ve just realised that you said you lost out on tynamo because of jolting in chargestone cave, but you can also get a tynamo in seaside cavern (i think that’s what it’s called?) just south of humilau. I only know cos i’m currently doing a white two nuzlocke and could repel manip for it. Love your videos, thank you for being so consistent :)

Very excited to see you complete the type monolockes. That said I'm always a bigger fan of your gimmick ones, getting to see a bigger variety of pokemon (or like the smeargle run, something weird like that) is really fun. Perhaps an idea for another gimmick run is you dont have any normal pokemon restrictions, but instead you add additional rules to the nuzlocke to make it harder (and maybe play an easier game like SWSH). I dont like the "no setup moves" ones, but perhaps rules like always editing the pokemon so it has the worst nature/ivs, or only letting a held item be used for a single battle before you need to discard it and find another item/get a second copy of that item.

Black 2 Mono-type Nuzlockes are fun because you get a medal for doing them

I'd love to see you do a dragon monolocke. X and Y are probably the best games for that since you can get dragons relatively early and they have a large selection, though you would have to face the first gym without a dragon.
