Side note for Clay: he didn't use Bulldoze because the CPU doesn't click a speed-lowering move if they're already faster, even if it's the most effective move. I have no idea why, but that's just how it works. Still, great run as always!
Quick remark: challenge mode is broken. It actually does not scale the stats of the opposing pokemon according to their level, so playing on challenge mode essentially means playing with a level advantage. You could play around this by playing through challenge mode using normal mode level caps, however.
These videos genuinely always make me feel better. The commentary always makes me laugh and shows this guy actually somewhat enjoys himself doing these. Always a good day when Antlerboy uploads 👏
Lol the Crocodile being hit with a frying pan is a Daily Occurrence down in Australia we have to keep them away from our Land and sheep so we use massive steel objects to smash the hide of the animal
Fighting-types really are fun to play with, especially characterful chaps like Heracross and Scrafty, so this was a fun run to watch. I do find it amusing that generally whenever you have an easier time against Elesa, Skyla proves an increase challenge like she's mad you were talking bad about her bestie. Appreciate quality content as always :)
@@kbowman772 yeah I've used this in a nuzlocke or two, Roxie's pokemon can't do shit to Lucario, so power up a little with Work Up (not at all necessary but I enjoy the disrespect) or maybe give it a silk scarf that you can find in Virbank City, basically a push A to win situation, same goes for Burgh
I’ve never been crazy about fighting type mons. I don’t dislike them either, though. There’s a few I really like, even a couple I love, but I don’t usually use one in a play through unless it’s a new mon and I’m digging it
For the Roxanne gym: Quick attack is actually not Lucario's strongest move. Even if you remove the tm for return, force palm is still stronger. QA with no bonuses is just 40 damage. Whereas force palms 60 base power, with the +50% damage from stab, which means it's 90 damage total. Cut that in half from resistance, and you have 45 total damage output, with the chance to para. I did this same thing with the Brawly gtm for dark locke in ORAS, so i had to really think about numbers.
Fun fact: The higher level cap in challenge mode doesn't accurately raise the Pokemon's stats It's probably best to use the level caps in normal mode while playing in challenge mode.
@@SyedRazaIrshadRizvi I'll give a hint: He does the same challenges as Antler and has also made a cameo in the channel. BTW, It is NOT FlygonHG at all. Also, don't say the name out loud once you know who it is cuz I'm trying to have a joke around here.
4:39 fighting beats steel because some martial artist can break steel Fighting beats rock and ice for the same reason, bug resists fighting because fight is the “Good type” and good guys don’t pick on the weak so they hold back
might be a fun run to use only knight type Pokemon. things like pig knight, corviknight, etc do it in a rom hack. anything that looks like a knight (gallade or bisharp) could also be cool..l
Scraggy doesn't have intimidate as its primary or secondary ability. Its actually a hidden ability. Only way to get a hidden ability intimidate scraggy is via the dream radar.
I’m trying to remember but I was wondering if you ever use pseudo-legendary Pokemon in any of your runs: Garchomp, Metagross, etc? I ask because I’m pretty sure most PokéTubers do and I’m often curious why they’ll choose to use them but not legendaries, like the Muskedeers for example, who have lower BSTs.
😂 the dude with the frying pan versus alligator clip LOL Using the flame orb to trigger guts always being so stupid to me because the burn condition cuts your attack in half. Poison orb only makes you take damage.
Guts ignores attack drop from burn. Also, it's more beneficial to be Guts-burned than Guts-poisoned especially if you'll face off against someone with Venoshock.
While hitting a bug is super effective, have you tried to punch or kick a bug? There comes the resistance to fighting types. They are usually quite evasive to those said hits.
I actually attempted this one, but because I own White 2, Heracross can only appear on the hidden grotto where it's normally found in Black 2. I got it after a week, then got demotivated once I remembered Gurdurr wouldnt be able to evolve...
The only complaint I've heard from tepig haters are "BUT ITS FIRE/FIGHTING WAAAAWAAAAA" Ignoring the 3rd fire/fighting starter in a row, emboar is genuinely sick. Great design, baller ass movepool and a neat hidden ability which really gives the line a lot of personality imo
Curiosity: Scraggy and Scrafty do not have intimidate as a base ability on gen 5, they have shed skin and moxie. I think Intimidate is their hidden ability.
I have a request :) Could you play through a game *not* calc'ing everything? Ive seen so many nuzlockers just run calcs for everything and perfectly pick all of their items and abilities to counter theirs, it feels like winning is all but guaranteed. I feel like this is what makes Alpharad's nuzlocking content way more fun, since you truly never know what stupid decision they will choose, lol. Just a thought. For what its worth I DO enjoy these videos, i just think you might get more people on if it were more exciting.
Next names should be beyblade bakugan or digimon for us 90s kids I definitely loved the iconic movie characters considering those are some of my favorite movies
Stop playing on challenge mode because it’s actually an advantage for you as the opponent’s Pokémon have the same stats despite being at a higher level; but you’re at a higher level due to the increased level cap. When will this busted thing about these games be addressed?
Being completely fair, it does add an entire pokemon or even 2 to some teams and gives different movesets or items to the NPCs, which are usually more impactful than a few levels
good video but you didn’t get encounters when you could heracross is available before elisa and timbur is available in relic passage which you access through the sewers in castelia
Hey can you do pokerogue nuzlocke? I've seen other RU-vidr having a hard time beating it so I would like to see my favorite nuzlocker doing pokerogue nuzlocke
Something weird I noticed. During the Iris fight, her Druddigon loses HP from presumabley life orb, meaning it should have its Rough Skin ability (since sheer force negates loss of HP from life orb). Yet when Lucario KOs it, it doesn’t take any damage. Anyone know why?
