Hey man great video keep up the hard work! just a little tip - you could include some background music from the pokemon games instead of keeping the original audio! The sped up sound from the emulator (hyperspeed) is a bit uncomfortable to listen to after a while :)

Just some helpful tips because the video was good. 1. Border up the Pokémon on the side so we can see them 2. Not that big but some background music maybe from black and white or some other game 3. Show some training and the little things like learning a new move. Just adds depth Ps: I also subbed and keep up the great work, I wasn’t shitting on you just trying to help to make it smoother

That Rollout strategy has always been one of my favourites to use for Flannery! It can be a little risky due to it’s accuracy sometimes, but not enough risk to lose a Pokémon against her though in my opinion.

The sound mixing here makes this hard to watch. I'd heavily suggest muting while recording and adding bg music in post so we don't hear the music jumping in time with emulator speedups

I plan to try to do this with the next video, also thanks for the feedback too! 😁👍 If I was recording on a game where I couldn’t use speed up by the way, so game sound would always be recorded in it’s regular volume, would you still suggest muting and adding in background music?

@@AJMTV yes. It makes narration smoother and you can mark different segments in the script with new songs. It also means sfx don't get muddled with your audio, which keeps the audio from muddling with narration

Yup, I made a mistake there. I think it’s in Ruby and Sapphire that Marill doesn’t spawn in Route 104 and I thought it was the same for Emerald too.

Hell, I've thunderbolted a volt absorb Lanturn, 5 minutes after researching the trainer and finding out that the Lanturn would be volt absorb before. One time recently, I even managed to forget an opponent had Earthquake a minute after a crit one almost took out my only poison type only to leave in my Magneton a couple switches later because I was more occupied deciding that Magneton would live a non-crit fighting move than to remember the earthquake.

I didn’t catch Marill there honestly due to a mistake, I forgot Marill spawned in route 104 on Emerald because it doesn’t in both Ruby and Sapphire versions.

Yes, so the tips I would give and what I feel helped me is to firstly do a bit of planning. Start off with finding out which Pokémon you can catch/want and where to find them for example. And my other main tips are personally to know about or learn about the main opponents + plan/find a good way to beat them. Attempting one or a few regular but no over-levelling play throughs based around the challenge you are doing for practice is also a good thing I would recommend!

Mudkip is the best starter and Treecko the worst but all are usuable. Mudkip just excels over the others because Water/Ground is insane typing, Swampert has great stats and there aren't a huge number of grass type trainers to give him problems. Electric and fighting types are extremely useful for the Elite 4 as only Drake and Phoebe don't have any mons that aren't vulnerable to a strong electric attack and a good fighting type like Hariyama or Breloom (also great for grass typing against Wallace's whiscash) will also destroy Sidney and be good against Glacia's ice types. In general, keeping a well balanced team type wise with bulky defensive mons and fast hard hitting mons is good. Poison boosted Guts Facade Swellow can do a lot of damage while outspeeding many pokemon, especially if you add a Silk scarf. Guts Hariyama can also do a lot of damage with similar status boosting strats. There's also enough water routes in the second half of the game that you should be able to get encounters with basically every water type pokemon that you could ever need. Shedinja is great if you can get Nincada (You should be able to evolve it around Wattson's gym where only Voltorb can hit it. Juan's luvdisk has sweet kiss but is pretty useless otherwise so just knock it out with another mon and then switch in Shedinja. Just be careful because due to his ability to stall and reduce your accuracy, I've had Kingdra run out of PP and start struggling before). Just pay extra close attention to how you train it. Brawley can be tough if you don't have anything that resists his pokemon but you can also always put off that gym battle if you don't think it looks favorable for your team. Norman has a scary team but his AI can kinda suck. Protect strats for his Slaking work great and his Truant ability allows for safe switching turns. Don't let Winona set up with her Altaria. Cripple it fast before it builds up dragon dances. Tate and Liza are extremely scary with coverage moves for every type they're weak against except ghost. So if you can catch a Duskull, train it up, evolve it and bring it to the fight. Chipping them down with water and grass moves also works reasonably well. Xatu and Lunatone will try to build up calm minds, so if you can also take them out quickly. Never go in underleveled to that fight. Be wary of Crits and be willing to sack if necessary. You can save a pokemon in most situations but if you're team is already beaten up, you're probably not going to have a safe switch and determining if there's a better pokemon to kill off than the one you have out is a valuable skill in nuzlockes. Mistakes happen but if you feel like you're making a string of them than just take a break and regather yourself. Damage calculations save lives. If you're thinking water types specifically: Don't forget the dive locations. Chinchou's typing is pretty good, especially if you can get volt absorb. really only Crawdaunt and Luvdisc are worth completely skipping and consider type coverage. The Swampert line is extremely vulnerable to grass so you'll want to add a Tentacool or Magikarp as soon as you get to Dewford (Getting one there grants you a guaranteed old rod encounter with the other in Slateport). Walrein is an insanely good late game encounter in Shoal Cave who can completely obliterate Drake's team and help carry through the Tatle and Liza fight (though will only be a Sealeo at this point if you're keeping to strict leveling rules [I know some who allow for 2 over which I initially thought was the norm in my Emerald run]) and other Elite 4 members. Do not skip.

There's quite a few other good water type Pokemon that I sadly forgot about too like Corphish/Crawdaunt which might of also been good Pokemon to use in the run XD

@@AJMTV Eh. Corphish is a free encounter with proper planning in Petalburg but it's pretty forgettable stat wise in Gen 3. The one you really should have gone for is Spheal in Shoal Cave because Walrein is a monster. Especially against Drake.

@@Jorgo98 according to smogon: “monotype is a format where all Pokémon on your team must share a common type.” The common type here is Water and all of the Pokemon mentioned are part water type, which would mean they are all valid for the challenge btw.
