Im sorry, Gen 5 was so much better than gen 6. Gen 6 only had megas going for it, Gen 5 had an amazing story with one of the best antagonist in all of Pokemon since Silver.

On a side note, you guys noticed Gamefreak suddenly broke their release patern? Usually they release one game a year. Alternating between a Mainline Pokemon console game and a Pokemon console Side game each year. This is the first time that all they releas for this year is a new budget android game that seems like a Pokemon brand Yugioh Duel Links, and a side game that is Legend Z-A that is slated NEXT YEAR. I would bet that Legend Z-A was really supposed to release this year, but the Quality and the Success of Palworld make Gamefreak delay the game to either polish it as much as they can so that they can avoid further humiliation or they are avoiding to release it the same year Palworld got released in hopes they won't be compared too much. XD

Pokemon X and Y was last Pokemon game I really liked , scarlet and violet I never bought because pretty much out grown the series. Legends ZA looks interesting to me so I'll give it a try. I don't see why people are getting upset over this. I'm older I've seen Pokemon from the start up until now,it still has a special place in my heart

Calling it “palworld without guns” is imo disrespectful to both games. Palworld and Pokemon are their own entities and should be treated as such.

Gen 5 is up next on the docket for a remake. The original Gen 5 had so many levels of care and thought put into all its balancing decisions, gym designs and movesets, new Pokemon, etc. that no generation since has matched it. Not my actual favorite, but the generation of Pokemon I respect the most. Given how Brittle Diamond and Smashed Pearl went, and how many features of Emerald were missing from Omega Ruby and Alpha Saphire, I don't think modern Game Freak has what it takes to remake and improve on the game old Game Freak made all those years ago. It'll just be the X/Y models and animations again, maybe Mega Evolutions to tie in to the new Legends game making Megas hype again.

im actually the opposite. i never played the older games because they were 2D or semi 2D. also i hate handhelds. my back hurts playing them. I have finally come into the series with arceus. well actually with "lets go pikachu" which had those forced motion. but i thought arceus was awesome. and finally an open world pokemon game! Not sure why you hated scarlet i thought it was brilliant as well. the pokemon you ride evolves to let you fly climb mounatins. also area X was super freaky with very cool music. the only big issue with scarlet was the horrible framerate and worse than arceus graphics. I was very hyped for the new pokemon game. i never played x&y so i have no kind of idea of anything this game will be. but im very much looking forward to the "true" reveal. i wish it came out this year but ill have to wait.

I still wont buy any future Pokemon games until i see framerate and performance reviews. They have scarlet and violet to thank for this.

No hate against the 2d games, but I just find them as odd, not as fun for me, considering my most earliest memories were foggy on something like Pokémon yellow, my most clearer memories were playing x/y and or/as and I actually enjoyed them, I saw the criticism on those games, but they hold a special place in my heart, and I want to revisit kalos, even if it’s not the entire region, I’ll still enjoy Pokémon legends: ZA, no matter the criticism, I’ll still play the game and enjoy it, the best thing is that no matter how bad the video game is, if you enjoy it, it’ll be at the top of your video game collection, and the fact mega evolutions are back made me hyped for it, i wanted mega evolution to return ever since they removed them in gen 8, and finally seeing mega evolutions return along with kalos, I’ll enjoy it no matter what, it’s the memories that give you an impression of nostalgia, not criticism, don’t let others tell you what to do, if you enjoy the games you buy and play with (yes even BD/SP) it’ll still put it right into your mind, no matter how lackluster a video game is, you’ll still remember having fun with the games, gen 5, I would agree with its story and antagonist, sure, but if we’re going to what Pokémon game we played with and actually having fun, for me, it’s gen 6 for nostalgia reasons, and I love we’re returning to kalos, even if it’s a small scale, kalos will and still hold a special place in my heart no matter what anyone says, thanks for hearing my opinion on this matter

They didn't announce anything about JOHTO and my guy Ethan.... Let's just say, the reveal about Legends Z-A was dog water hype for me. Gen 6. Sucks lol

ive well outlived any joy i could have for a pokemon game, after sword/shield, scarlet/violet, and the terrible diamond and pearl remakes. Gamefreak will need to do a lot to entice me into buying one of their games again.

Game Freak DO listen, the issue has always been time not effort, they are NOT lazy. But the issue is that they are always on a strict time schedule, but it seems like that is about to change with this game and most likely Gen 10 which is looking like it will release in 2026 which would make this a four year gen: the FIRST since Gen 3 and 4 which both lasted four years. This is a positive change! They're taking time to get it right and Game Freak don't make the jump to new hardware straight away: BW2 was on DS in 2012 and USUM was on 3DS in 2017 so I don't think Nintendo Switch 2 has anything to do with the decision to release this in 2025. Whether it'll be a cross-gen title is very much in the air though I'd guess this will be a Switch exclusive, but who knows! Either way Pokemon is changing in a positive way! And i think the criticism was so strong after SV that they simply couldn't ignore it and I think SV are really good games technical issues aside but they definitely needed more time to be polished and now the new games are getting more time!

wait, wasn't that the mega evolution symbol at the end of the trailer in the corner? and how the scene ran it felt like those pre start menu cutscenes of the ds games, this severely worries me. They could have learned from their mistakes, or this game is a desperate last ditch effort.

It's possible that new game will be for the new Switch and they didnt want show any gameplay or screenshots to not disclose new Switch graphical capabilities (since its not released yet), that is if this game even gonna have decent looking graphics this time around (not holding my hopes on that though)... If graphics are bad it that could cost them sales for the new system since it would extremely bad marketing for the new Switch. Still not planning preordering or buying before reviews comes in. If its bad, then great I saved money for something else and if its good I may finally be able to get decent Pokemon game which is not a total disappointment (again not holding any hopes for this game being any good. I have 0 expectations that this game will be worth buying or even waiting for).

I want a Zeldamon game. Take the Zelda formula, and Pokemon formula, and mash them together. Imagine how awesome it would be to have that Zelda ToTK exploration experience, where you try to survive in a world with Pokemon in them, but instead of killing Pokemon, you can also catch them. So, you can use swords, bows, shield's, equippable armors, and add some Zelda type magics, to help defend yourself against monsters who are dead set on killing you. Now, not every monster has to be out to get you, like we see in Zelda, but it would be a whole hell of a lot more fun being a character who goes on the offensive for a change. Instead of killing monsters, like in Zelda, you are able to catch them instead. Then you can use those captured Pokemon, to defend yourself against rouge trainers out in the world, who want nothing else but to battle you, with the goal being to kill you. Obviously, I wouldn't want it to be violent. Although, it would be badass if it were a bit violent, but Nintendo won't do that, so it need serious tension. Pokemon doesn't have to be so PG. They could get away with a PG-13 style Pokemon game, where it's all about survival with or against Pokemon. Basically, the best way I can describe exactly what I'm talking about, in a new revamped Pokemon game, is if a modder modded Zelda ToTK, and added Pokeballs to the game. So, every monster you would see out in the wild in Zelda ToTk would be monsters you can catch. The main focus should be an rpg built around your character, like in Zelda, who goes from nothing, to a badass fighter, who needs Pokemon to survive against trainers. I do not want to see turn based combat out in the wild, and beat them down to catch them. I want to go on the offensive. I still love the defensive turn based Pokemon formula, and am not suggesting to get rid of them entirely, but instead have those traditional turn based battles only occur when against evil trainers who spot you out in the world. It would be different, and it would be a total blast that even adults could enjoy. A Monster Hunter, but with Pokeballs. A Xenoblade Chronicles story, but with Pokeballs. That type of experience. I'm tired of being a Pokemon trainer, who doesn't mean anything. I want an expansive story, with excellent voice actors, and to kick some Pokemon butt for a change.

I agree about the writing in Black and White. Atrociously stupid indeed. My least favorite part was being forced to listen to the girl rival character argue with her dad and a gym leader shows up to offer their $0.02 all while the player character stays as mute as ever. I don't even like any of these characters, I don't want to listen to this exchange, let me leave! I also wasn't a fan of N, I cannot understand what other people see in him at all. I found him very dull. I also didn't care for things they did with the music in Black and White. Especially the low health warning being an entire song. Very annoying when I'm in a battle that has a unique theme that is suddenly cut off to play the stupid low health music again. Oh and I thought they were ugly games too, they tried to do way too much with sprites. All the weird rotations and stretches and non-integer scaling, ugh I hated every minute of looking at that game. They should have just stayed with the style they did for DPP and save all the fancy 3D stuff for when they properly transitioned to full 3D. Garbage fires indeed. I dropped off the franchise entirely after Sun & Moon, but of the ones I have played, Black and White are by far my least favorite. EDIT: lol, I just remembered BDSP, I played that too. Still dislike Black and White the most.

I quit Legend Arceus because they gated story progression behind inane Pokedex tasks "Hey, there's a Noble Pokemon raging in the next region over but you can't go there til you watch Buoyzel do Aqua Jet ten more times." As good and progressive as the rest of Legends Arceus was, that one decision irked me badly enough that I dropped the game As long as Legends Z-A doesn't do that again, I'm down

All the "poketubers" have come out to say this is awesome even though NOTHING was really shown, all forgetting and misleding their followers that Game Freak can make a game. They can't. They've never been able to. Palworld > Pokémon
