The Junior Frontier is very new. It is sort of in an experiment stage. No one has won more than 3. If a new trainer cannot win 7 before their rookie year ends, they can't continue entering other tournaments. If a rookie can manage to win all 7, it's like they earn a golden ticket to challenge any trainer in Kanto. If they do the unthinkable and win, they can take over their esteemed title.

I do hope some elaboration as to why that Ghastly could talk is given later on. I would assume after so many years post Team Rocket's Meowth notoriety of speaking, other Pokemon may have wanted to adapt that skill and while shocking the kids, its more common than not to see talking Pokemon in this new generation. I like the battle goals each trainer will undergo and would love more details as to this Frontier system in the future. As bypassing the need to win a conference to challenge even the Champion and potentially taking their role if defeated is crazy. Plus knowing Giovanni mentioning the "this time?" line really speaks to Looker having to venture in the depths of a criminal mind to help solve the world's crimes was a nice touch. I do hope the gang expands their teams soon. If you're open to suggestions let us know. I got some choices I think will suit them well.

Thank you for your wonderful comment! 🙏🏼 So this Ghastly wouldn't be the first to talk as seen in the OG anime. In my fanfic, it's using a psychic ability, which will be explained in a later episode. @@elitemjaI do recall Pokemon outside of Meowth being able to talk. They just kept it rather hidden or weren't as featured as Meowth like the Slowking from the Lugia movie. So I figured Meowth was more prominent in wild Pokemon wanting to learn to speak over the years. Cool to know it's a psychic ability. And I saw the details of the Jr. Frontier. Thanks for the refresher but what I meant more rules. Like is it only rookie trainers and what that means like say trainers with less than 2 years experience or so. Or if anyone could challenge. Like those who tried the other Frontier Challenges and lost. Also if they are only to challenge the Frontier Brains only once or if they lose could they challenge multiple times? I'd love to see limiting parameters like you can rematch up to 2 times only across the 7 Frontier Brains but the 3rd loss is an instant dismissal of participation for the rest of the year. Gives room for the character to not have plot armor and win all the Frontier Challenges on the first try. Just saying. That can be explained in a future episode as to whole grand vision this Jr. Frontier is all about.

@TheRipper19 Yes, the Junior Frontier Battle arenas all have their own individual rules. The one in Viridian City won't be the same as Pewter City and so on. A trainer only has a year from the day they got their Pokedex to win 7. The Junior Frontier won't be connected to the Battle Frontier. It will all come clearer as we progress 🙌🏽

i hate to sound negative cause i legit love this series lol only have 1 issue/question why make them from johto it ultimately seems pointless if theyll just get kanto starters and travel kanto a bit bummed since itd be cool to see someone expand on johto otr see a typlosion since ash never got one
