Or for a more dramatic playthrough, Mikey starts the episode with some sort of flight related accident and develops a temporary fear of heigts. Thus only utilizing flightless birds, until he overcomes his fear in the grand finale leading to an epic sky showdown. No clue in which game you could do that though...
With this episode Jim's death count stays the same with 16 deaths (7 self KO's) while Lugia's increases again with 14 deaths (6 self KO's). However I'd say that Lugia might have a rival in Altaria for Mikey's worst pokemon. The total self KO's per team is 19 for John's team and 22 for Mikey's. Since Mikey was curious, out of his 22 self KO's, 14 have been Lunar Dance, 5 of which coming from Lugia.
Have you been tracking the stats of all mons and if you have do you have them for staraptor and empoleon since they're the two oldest members of Mikey's team
@@awqweird Yes I have a list with all pokemon's performances. Empoleon is at 11 deaths (3 self KO's) and Staraptor is at 8 deaths (4 self KO's). They are the second and third highest deaths on Mikey's team only behind Lugia
@@Squirtleman49 granted with how bad his luck has been it probably wouldn't have changed anything but I am kinda curious if Mikey should have kept herdier/stoutland on his team. Even without being able to cycle between them the combination of intimidate and normal stab does seem really good for metronome
1:03:48 After everything Mikey went through this episode, ending off with this reveal that John now can utilize Primal Kyogre for the rest of the playthrough is really funny, and Mikey's reaction says it all.
I see now that Lugia was not using self KOing moves willingly. It had simply chosen to take on the burden of self KOing moves for Mikey's whole team, and now that Lugia has been removed, that burden... that disease, it's starting to spread.
I think that whoever is editing this should put in a little snippet of the song “footloose” whenever one of Mikey’s Pokémon lunar dances, cause they just gotta cut loose
the lanturn did focus energy btw, but i think this playthrough might singlehandedly end Mikey’s special interest in pokémon, bro is having the WORST luck ive ever seen 💀
A good reason why Mikey can use flightless birds for a team Sky playthrough is since now he is a good guy, he is trying to expand and protect the skies. The expanding of the skies is helping flightless birds experience what it's like to be part of the sky.
I would legit actually pay to see how mad Team Sky Mikey would be when he learns that there's a flightless bird committing identify theft against Zapdos.
Team Night Sky's next mission. No context given, just an easter egg if you happen to have watched this playthrough. Can even be during the non-flying bird playthrough if he can make it work
Yay! I'm a Cloyster! (At least it's female) And I don't care if he uses it or not, at least I'm in Mikey's squad! Also, the pep talk that Mikey gives to Lugia followed with "I'm tired" & John's laugh, had me in stitches! 😂 Mikey's team constantly keeping him on the edge.
I confess, I suggested the Mega Altaria idea cuz it seemed good on paper, but it flopped so hard, I am sorry Mikey😭 (tho you do have the perfect death count)
The fact that Mikey keeps getting SPECIFICALLY lunar dance is so brutal. At least Explosion would do damage, Memento would make it easier for the next pokemon, etc.
I hope that after the series ends you'll make more unedited videos in this channel, I've enjoyed them so much. I love your dynamic and the random stories you guys talk about, the banter and stuff. I just wish they were longer, it's getting near the end and honestly I wish it wasn't.
The rare candy feels like the clean way to "edit" out the grinding, perhaps if this comes up again you can get more candies and just set the level cap as appropriate for gym leaders?
@@lockman5196 The rare candy part, I don't mind. I don't think it changed much in this episode. It's the speeding up regular battles I don't like as you there's of a reaction if they missed a move being used
Team Sky lore for flightless birds: Team Sky revisits Empoleon, and tries to understand why people like land-based pokemon so much. But by the end of the playthrough, Team Sky ends up with a full team of flighted pokemon anyway.
I mean on the bright side for Michael, there's the free "Heatran" and Charizardite Y in the Scorched Slab, the Thundurus soaring encounter with Castform in the party, the Sea Mauville sidequest, and the legendary beast encounter with Lugia in the party, all of which are level 50, so maybe it's not over yet?
If I were Michael I wouldn't have any fun doing these Metronome episodes again and again. Since a few episodes it's clear he isn't able to win at any chance if the Game Master doesn't imply any rule for it
Gurl - go back and watch the Black White 2 Metronome nuzlocke they did. John got absolutely decimated whilst trying to make it more entertaining, whereas Mikey played it safe the whole time and was very dull as a result. All the while, Mikey was guffawing at John being down like, 30+ deaths. Honestly, this doesn't even scratch the surface of karma!
Alternatively, Team Sky determines that there are too many flightless bird pokemon who haven’t had the experience of flight, so Mikey must attempt to teach them how to
So uh... Altaria using Explosion results in a Fairy type STAB Explosion with a further 30% boost in power. So basically, 325 base power + STAB (before cutting the damage because multiple targets. Big boom.
To be honest, I think he could have gotten the same result from Boomburst without getting a death point from it. That Explosion is perhaps way more than was necessary for the win.
If anyone is angrily cursing Mikey's team my only thought would be his starter Swanna, for they were replaced with another sea creature of the sky, so the Lugia and Altaria are cursed from the wrath of Swanna. :O
I bet the leader of team sky wouldn't be this unlucky with flying types, try acting more like him, you're in hoenn for rayquaza's sake. Also 46:48 here's an idea, metronome only but I'm team sky!
Hmm, flightless bird team sky….. Quackqaval (definitely misspelled) Blaziken Eiscue Empoleon Espathra Can’t think of another flightless bird Pokémon, since Delibird actually can fly according to the anime. Other than Galarian Zapdos, which feels like it would be a very late game addition
