Well I like Roark and I would’ve battled the other gym leaders if the preowned copy of diamond wasn’t defective but it’s a great game and my favorite game is heartgold/soulsliver because I can catch gen 1 legendaries
My favorite is Volkner. He always given such an amazing personality. The way he was presented in the anime in the game made me realize he was no joke when it came to battling.
I remember when I first played Diamond... The very first Pokémon game I ever played... Diamond and Pearl were the new games at the time. 2007. I was 8 years old, surprised by how difficult Roark was. Then, that Cranidos... Headbutt. I lost to that thing so many times. After the 5th try it felt so good to beat him. Then I reached Eterna City, and when I found Gardina at the door of her gym, she clearly said I can't battle her until I defeated all the gym trainers. But I misread it as gym *leaders.* So I went inside anyway and saw she wasn't in there, unaware the trainers were hiding. I left to go to Route 211, and to my disappointment, I couldn't pass it. It wasn't until 2 years later when I got Platinum as my own mainline Pokémon game (since I was olaying a friend's Diamond) that I realized my mistake. I was also blown away by the redesign of the 2nd gym. So today at 20, I picked up and played Diamond for the first time in over 10 years. And let me tell you... The level gaps are insane. I didn't expect to face Cynthia with her best at level 62. Yo. What? Playing Diamond and comparing it to Platinum was an adventure. There were small and big differences. The biggest one was the battle and surf speed. Surf was so slow. Help. Ah. Good times.
I first played Diamond when I was about four or five (I too got it when it came out). I don't remember much, other than two things: 1. Candice was the hardest Gym Leader ever. Seriously, it took me only a million times to beat her and I couldn't figure out why at the time. And this was all because guess who my starter was? Turtwig. And by the time I did, my Torterra was seriously overleveled 2. I got lost on Mt. Coronet. I remember walking around on that thing trying to get to the top but I can't remember if I ever got to the top or not. Surely, I'd remember a moment as memorable as the battle with Cyrus and Dialga afterwards, but who knows? (Chances are, Dialga got obliterated by Earthquake 🤣🤣🤣) Thankfully, that save file still exists today. Now that you mention it, your comment makes me want to play Diamond again, just to see if Cyrus is freezing his butt off waiting for me to turn up 😂
@Gold or Ethan for me it was: "Staraptor used Close Combat!" "This doesn't affect Froslass..." "It's A GHOST TYPE!?" "Froslass used Ice Shard" "Staraptor Fainted!" "FUUUUUUU-"
My favorites are Fantina and Candice. Fantina because she rocks the elegant look and Candice because her animation is so energetic and genuinely cute. Although Volkner is definitely after them easily. Hell, in terms of personality he's easily the best of the bunch.
@@EvilRiceGuy psh ngl i cant remember. I had 5 i believe. It was super hard because all my pokemon were not strong against ghost type. I went to another part of the map and got a pokemon that was strong against ghost, thats how i beat her.
Cranidos: High attack stat, plus surprisingly fast this early Roserade: BST of 515 at Level 22 Mismagius: Unchanged from Diamond and Pearl, except for level Lucario: Steel-Type
@@isaacpark5276 Gen V has good story, but the graphics and music did not please me. The music specially... I don't know how to explain it. Sounds a bit too computer-ish? Sorry, English is not my first language.
Your Kricketune must make a lot of people salty. It *always* hits sing EDIT: The Byron battle was funny because you kept using razor leaf on Bastiodon and then you used earthquake - play time is over!
Guys! Look at the thumbnail, closely. The main colors there are Red, green, blue, and yellow. Coincidentally, those are the names of the Gen 1 games. This video is about the gym leaders in Sinnoh, which is a part of gen 4. 4 minus 1 is three.... *ILLUMINATI COMFIRMED!*
Also, every Pokémon paired games of each generation is red and blue in some way (Reshiram and Zekrom having red and blue eyes obviously). The trend never stopped in the mainline.
Gen 4 has such a long and completed story! Looking at the first gym leader's fight after defeating Cynthia for the first time feels like an accomplishment
I love Pokemon Platinum. Its my fav game in the Pokemon series. The Gym Leaders were quite fun to battle. Their theme is such a banger too! First time playing this, got completely owned by Fantina and Crasher Wake. Second playthrough, still got owned by Fantina, but i got my revenge on her and Crasher in the end. Special thanks to Denki the Luxray, Sazori the Gliscor, and Fierce the Magmar.
Mixeli- Switches out Glacion and pulls out his Torterra. Volkner- ''Use Thunder Punch" *It doesn't affect Hashirama* Volkner- "No prob, use Fire Punch" *Its super effective!* Mixeli- "Oh shi-"
Currently playing Pokémon platinum rn, I wasn’t expecting Roark to be difficult cuz I had a Monferno that basically Mach punched everything but that Cranidos and headbutt hit hard and left Monferno on 3 HP. I took it out tho
I had picked piplup and managed to sweep his team off only using bubble except for his cranidos he used headbutt and was left at 4 hp and then fainted cause she couldn’t move first, poor piplup, she did good (yea i got a female starter, seriously yes, i’m a boy, i’m not judging just find it funny in my opinion, hehehehaw) And luckily my level 8 zubat’s supersonic hit after roark used the potion and his cranidos keep hitting himself while i was also using leech life, i got balls of da good luck there bro 💀 But currently i started a new run and my new team ranges from 56 to 61, they were around 45 to 49 when i first challenged the elite four (i think) and over time they got to 56 to 60, also my infernape leveled up to 61 during that battle with cynthia I know i’m late but idk if u will see this, i was just trying to share a little of my 2 play throughs i still remember cause i’m bored.
Because of how diverse the Pt Sinnoh dex is, every Gym Leader can have a full team of six (a bit of a "challenge mode"), and additions are: Roark: Shieldon, Nosepass and Rhyhorn Gardenia: Tropius, Tangela and Carnivine/Wormadam (Leafeon might be too much) Fantina: Drifloon, Rotom and Spiritomb (Goldenrod Gym flashbacks, anyone?) Maylene: Monferno, Croagunk and Heracross Crasher Wake: Empoleon, Vaporeon and Tentacruel Byron: Scizor, Bronzong and Probopass Candice: Glaceon and Glalie Volkner: Magnezone and Pachirisu
Nice Turtwig! I started with Piplup solely for the purpose of easily defeating Roark’s Cranidos, but I had to spend time leveling up a Starly to fight Gardenia properly. (I tried Ponyta but it’s defense is just too low)
When I fought Falkner in Platinum, it ended up being my Magmortar VS his Electivire in the end. He did over 1/2 of my health with an attack but I used Confuse Ray that turn. He hits himself in confusion the next turn before I beat him with a Fire Blast.
Legend has it that the Fourth Hokage was so fast he had time to the Hokage and a Gym Leader 😂😂 They look similar i thought of the fourth when i seen volkner the first time.
Thoughts on each Sinnoh Gym Leader: Roark: He's nice I guess. I will say though that it's neat that he has a father that is also a Gym Leader at the same time Gardenia: She's alright. Nothing too special Fantina: Honestly not sure Maylene: She has a Lucario, which is cool. She's pretty neat, I suppose Crasher Wake: Pretty cool dude (it's also kinda funny to think that in a way he's the opposite of Brawly when it comes to their type specialties vs their pastimes) Byron: I blame Chugga for making this guy memorable. After all, Byron LOVES Bastiodon. Oh, and there's the neat fact that he's Roark's father, and they're both Gym Leaders. Candice: Nice name, but otherwise nothing too significant Volkner: My favorite one. He's pretty cool, electric type is cool, and the setup for the fight is pretty cool too. It's also good that his team was adjusted in Platinum, because technically, while it isn't as obvious (since he has only four Pokémon instead of five), he has a similar problem to Flint in the original Diamond and Pearl.
I kinda think Volkner’s DP team worked with his story and personality, in a weird way. Like how he’s bored of battling and hasn’t had a serious challenge in a while - probably because he’s bending the rules and using two non electric types, tricking people who think they can roll in with a ground type and take him out easy, only for them to get bodied by his Octillery. No wonder he has so many easy wins. Also Maylene is top tier for me purely because of the anime. The battle between her Lucario and Ash’s Buizel was one of the most memorable moments of the whole series for me.
I trained all of my Pokémon to level 40 to fight Byron, also because I knew Team Galactic was coming up next. My Lucario, named Audacia (It’s Latin for daring, I think.) one shot all of his Pokémon with Aura Sphere.
The only Gym Leader that feel hard to me is Fantina, because I don't have a dark type pokemon so I have to spam my Grottle's Bite 😅 while I solo other Gym with 1 Pokemon :>
I decided to have a Pokemon who is counter to all of Gym Leaders and Elite 4. Some of them aren't good enough, you can judge me by that. • Torterra • Crobat • Heracross • Vaporeon • Weavile • Heat Rotom
