Platinum: "Champion Cynthia used one Full Restore!" Me: "Cool I'll skip five seconds ahead" *The health bar was still going up*

Me: The Elite 4 was like a breeze Cynthia: That's not all Me: Holy shit

Here's what happened during my rematch battle against Cynthia in Platinum on March 31, 2018. My team consisted of Empoleon, Staraptor, Roserade, Medicham, Glaceon, and Magmortar. All were Level 73, except for Empoleon and Magmortar who were Level 74 (both gained a level during that Elite Four run). I opened with Empoleon against Cynthia's Spiritomb. He almost beat it with a Hydro Cannon, but it survived in red health. While Empoleon was forced to recharge, Cynthia used a Full Restore. Empoleon was easily able to tank Spiritomb's hits due to being part Steel type. It then downed it with two Surfs. I switched to Glaceon against Garchomp. She did more than half of Glaceon's health with an Earthquake. But luckily, Glaceon hit with Blizzard to one shot Garchomp. I used Medicham against her Lucario. Lucario did quite a bit of damage, but Medicham hit harder with her (my Medicham is female) huge Attack stat (doubled by Pure Power) to beat Lucario with one super effective Brick Break. I kept Medicham in against Togekiss. Medicham took out about half of its health with a Thunder Punch. I tried to used Psychic to intentionally weak attack it, but it did more than I thought it would. Togekiss defeated my Medicham that turn. After I sent out my Magmortar, Cynthia used another Full Restore. However, Magmortar was able to take it down with a couple of Thunderbolts. When Milotic came out, I decided to keep Magmortar out too. A Thunderbolt did more than half of Milotic's health. Surprisingly, it didn't try to KO me with Surf or Mirror Coat. It instead used Aqua Ring. The HP restoration didn't prevent me from being able to finish it off with another Thunderbolt. Last was Roserade. With Magmortar pulling so much weight through this battle, he utterly incinerated Roserade with a single Overheat to win the battle.

This was my team when I last challenged Cynthia on my last Platinum playthrough Empoleon Staraptor Luxray Abomasnow Garchomp Spiritomb Abomasnow is very underrated and it proved to be a vital member of my team after I caught it as a Snover on Route 216 its Male and it is a useful Pokemon I recommend training one.

Why is her theme so epic?

Cynthia is now currently the strongest champion in terms of both strategy and team level, as of the release of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. (Gleaming Platinum (title to be determined) may be next on the Gen 4 remakes)) Her final team consists of: Spiritomb Lv84 Porygon-Z Lv85 Lucario Lv86 Milotic Lv84 Togekiss Lv86 Garchomp Lv88 Average team level: 85.5

sad thing i never got to beat Cynthia, my team was pretty underleveled and her Milotic destroyed me. (at the time half my team were fire types.)

My team: .Torterra .Gastrodon .Skuntank .Lucario .Garchomp .Honchkrow Before beating her, she got my ass whooped twice (my team was 20 levels below). Therefore, I leveled up my whole team to level 85. Most of the people think that Garchomp is hard as hell (which is true), but honestly speaking though, her Milotic was a true challenge. I regard Cynthia as the hardest champion ever (both videogame and anime, in anime Flint's Infernape almost beat her Garchomp) across the board

QOTD-1 Torterra Staraptor Floatzel Jolteon Houndoom Dialga I had a plan to defeat Cynthia's Garchomp, it was: using Staraptor's intimidate and deal some damage. But when I used a second brave bird, critical hit, Garchomp faints. The rest of the battle was pretty easy

i used floatzel,infernape,gardevoir,giratina,glaceon,and luxray and i beat her on my first try and all my pokemon were lvl 50 to 51 besides infernape being lvl 55 not bad right? it was still pretty tough tho only reason i won is cause glaceon tanked a hit from garchomp and one shoted it with icebeam

My team in beating Cynthia was Empoleon, Rotom, Leafeon, Togekiss, Gallade and Mamoswine (First attempt level 71 all) I led off with my Mamoswine and she used shadow ball with spiritomb and I countered with avalanche for that double damage one shotting it She switched into lucario and I switched into gallade and I used one close combat to K.O it Next was her Togekiss and I chose Rotom and I took it out with one magnet boosted thunderbolt Then her Roserade came out and I sent in my Togekiss and beat it with just one airslash Her Milotic came out so I used Leafeon and used swords dance and leaf blade to take it out Finally her Garchomp and I sent in my Empoleon I survived an Earthquake from her embodiment of Satan and K.Oed it with a single ice beam Leaving me with all of my Pokémon still alive as I became the new champion (This was all today btw :D)

Honestly pending what team the give her in the remakes she may be even worse because of Togekiss getting buffed with fairy type. If its her classic team she'll have Gastrodon instead which is like WORLDS easier to fight. Chomp will be a pain in the dick regardless hahaha

My first battle was so hard but for the rematch… no it wasn’t harder. It was actually easier. I didn’t use healing items and only one of my Pokémon fainted in the rematch. My Glaceon litterally tanked a brick break and OHKOd Garchomp with ice bean never melt ice boosted. My team was all level 70.
