Volcarona; Movie monster is my favorite theme team and it makes a great Mothra. Yanmga (Megaguiras), Galvantula (Kumonga), Durant (Meganulon), Heracross (Megalon), and Armaldo (Gigan) are all solid reference options too, but the sheer power combined with it coming from a little fluffy baby requiring dedication to train brings Volcarona to the top of the list.
Bug types are my 2nd favourite typing after grass. Doesn't matter which gen I play I always use 1 bug pokemon. One of the reasons why gen 5 is in my top 3 is because of how much they improved the bug typing and introduced my favourite bug Volcarona
For clarification: Dupes clause means that you can't catch the same pokémon twice Species clause means you can not catch another pokemon of that species For example when you catch a magicarp, you can't catch another magicarp later on with dupes and species clause But when you find a gyarados you can catch it when you play with only dupes clause (because gyarados is not a magicarp) but you can not catch it when you play with species clause because gyarados evolves from magicarp
I always have loved Shedinja and Ninjask, thrilled to see them get some spotlight in this run! Impressive that the only two you lost were the Wurmple line 😎
33:36 : Well bef the spec/physical atk split in Gen 4 right after Hoenn oddly enough Ghost type moves were all physical for some reason, so you could have used Screech from the get go with Shedinja to save you the pain of chipping away at Steven's Aggron ! Neverthelss Great video: and even more impressive is to have the dedication to play with bugs in a generation in which they were absolutely awfull, aside Heracross and Scizor ! I tip my hat to you ! :)
You know when ever I’m bored I usually go to antler boy channel to search around and see your nuzlocke videos which are really good edited your skills and I’m excited when you post something new
I used ninjask in showdown and that is some broken stuff right there. The only reason that bug is the weakest type is because ice has good offense like froslass and weavile and the fact they have a weather condition and abilities that exploit it. Bugs are still super underrated though because the good ones don’t need that. Keep up the good work.
A real shame that when Fairy type was introduced they didn't Make Bug super effective vs it like Poison... Bug steel are decent, though quad week to Fire, there are some names such as Scizor and Durant also Excavalier...
Well done for beating this nuzlocke using one of the worst types in gen 3 yes there are some great bug types in gen 3 such as armaldo or heracross but also there are terrible bug types like volbeat and illumise Also great content as always :)
@@soulslicr5743 Yeah, but that's not very good for Bug type STAB since all Bug moves are physical, so at least in terms of being a Bug type, Volbeat is bad.
I LOVE watching your channel. Maybe do an inverted type run like FlygonHG did? I'd also like to see a ghost only Alpha Sapphire run--but i'm not sure it's possible with so few encounters. Love your stuff!
You probably knew this but if you held off on evolving Surskit til lvl 25, it would have learned bubblebeam. Just got off work from pulling a double and your videos are one of he few things I look forward to. Thank you for being amazing and keeping the love of Poke'mon alive!
This was the last video I got to watch before I had to head out to work (early might I add). I always look forward to watching (and rewatching) your videos regardless of my schedule!
This was the run that confirmed @AntlerboyLIVE is the best nuzlocker /pokétuber for me. The strats I've learned from these videos has really helped speed up my runs when trying 2 complete my living dex Awesome job dude!!
I don't know if you've done this run already, but I want to see how hard it is to do an electric only run in unova, cause I like magnezone and galvantula
Bro that backup plan for Normal was tough. Excellent utilization of the team. The pivoting to get your setup sweeper in after protect/poison stall didn’t work. That was some grade A stuff Ant
Moonlight heals more in "Sunlight" because the move Sunny Day is actually called "Clear Sky" in Japanese. It's supposed to be parting the clouds, more so than bringing in sunlight directly. This of course also means it brings in moonlight indirectly as well.
I really enjoy watching your nuzlocks and playing pokemon myself at the same time. Keep up the good work man!! Ps: Whats you favorit bug type pokemon? :) mine is Pinsir in Heartgold/Soulsilver a very underrated pokemon you can catch during the bug catch contest. It learns *revenge* at lvl 18 witch can help with Whitneys miltank i does have -4 priority doe but deals massive damage when getting hit by a stomp or a rollout.
I would love a fire type platinum run. After original Sinnoh hand only two fire types, I think it would be cool to see a run in the updated deck! btw my favorite bugs are Orbeetle and Golisipod
The fact that this Bug-type team beat the Elite 4 without a single death is absolutely incredible considering how often "stronger" types take 50% or more casualties during the E4.
Oh my god!!! Getting crazier and funnier than ever! Damn, really wish Dustox and Beatifly didn't die, imagine beating Pokemon Hoen Region with the Champion having Steel type with your bug type. Looking forward as always for upcoming videos! Hopefully deathless
That was awesome! I do believe the optimal choice on the Steven fight would have been to leave ilumise to be sacked, in order to get the free switch, but it does feels better to see the entire team come out alive from the E4. Congrats on the win, Shedinja is broken.
I've been trying to watch others to through pokemon..but they end up leveling up to like level 50 before even the first boss and still pretends like it's gon be a challenge🤦♀️ so I'm definitely gonna subscribe to you and go on a binge watching your content~
Well done on this nuzlocke. I enjoy your content. I just wondering if you could try nuzlocke grass type on HG/SS? Most of gyms in Gen 2 were resistant/ strong against grass type. Hope you could take this!
i love that back when i did my monotype buglocke, i literally had the exact same setup and strategy for flannery. My ninjask even got poisoned aswell when i swapped it in on the first slugma. That is hilarious. Thinking about it though this strategy might be 1 out of maybe 2 strategies that would work on flannery.
Nice job on this one! Love the strategies and will definitely help me out with my own nuzlockes. For the next one you should do a psychic only for black and white 2 if you haven’t already done that.
Holding Surkit from evolving a few levels will give him Bubblebeam, a decent water move. It can also learn Ice beam and it has Intimidade, if you peoperly EV teain it its pretty decent for the run. Finally, it can learn Water Sport, which will be useful in Flannery too. Illumise is also not bad for the run. It has Charm, Encore, Wish/Moonlught, and It can learn Thunderbolt and Water Pulse for coverage.
Ooh neat, another vid! Honestly, I don’t like evasion strats either, but let’s call a spade a spade here. In a Nuzlocke, you’re the only one whose Pokémon aren’t immortal (unless you have a shiny), so survival at any cost. “You can’t hit me” ain’t as broken as “what’s this dying thing that that kid was talking about?” Anyway, captain storytime here prefers Scizor. I purified Stryke (teenage me: what if we just changed 1 letter?!) in one of the Colosseum games as a Scyther, sent her over to Emerald, evolved her via trade, and she then proceeded to do everything. Battle Frontier fights, 12 total contest ribbons across 2 gens, more postgame Gen 4 fights after another transfer, and basically protagonisting it up like crazy. By the time she was done conquering everything, Scizor was one of my favorite Pokémon of all time.
I would suggest a Chronolocke. Its something i came up with, maybe idk if someone already did it, But what it means is that you can only use the pokemon you catch in chronological order and if the any of the first six pokemon you catch faints you HAVE to use the 7th then 8th then 9th and so on. You can use repel to skip through areas you want to catch pokemon, then catch them later on. Although i dont know if you can do this in a setting Harcore nuxlocke since i played in with Harcore rules but only in Shift mode. Its just something i thought of and decided to share if it might piqued your interest.
Doing an alpha sapphire run right now where I also found…a shiny zigzagoon 🤨🤨🤨 I named her Lucky and she has an adamant nature, never thought I would transfer a mon from 3ds to switch but here we are 🤷🏻♂️
Hey man Im doing that run myself I noticed two things you missed. Delaying Surskit evolving at level 25 grants him Bubblebeam which is pretty decent, since hes of no use at Wattson anyway. He also can learn Ice Beam If you have the money ir the patience. And Illumise could learn either thunderbolt pra Shockwave. Both of these would make Wynona fight a Lot easier. Another one is: that move water sport that no one ever used, you can use It at the first Slugma in Flannery to tank the First Overheat.
I would love to see a branch type nuzlocke, caught a pokemon with the same type that you currently have and if it has a secondary type then that branch is open to you.
"your average boxed legendary" wooooow, what a sick burn. But so true 😂😂, i have never caught a legendary except for the sole reason of completing a pokedex
Wait! If your dad is in his gym, your mom is in front of you... who in God drives the truck??? Challenge idea : Harcore nazlock only single type pokemon
bug types are so underated! In my opinions they're so good in early-middle games! In the late games its hard since there are more super effective moves cause of certain moves!
