My favorite attack animation has to be Fissure. Seeing that dark pink shockwave pulsate across the screen while everything goes black still sends chills down my spine to this day.

My favorites are the ones with the demon laughing at 5:56 (Curse), 16:02 (Lovely Kiss), 19:06 (Nightmare), and 29:22 (Spite). Also, props for using the Yellow Pikachu animation for Surf.

11:38 Future Sight has the most underrated animation in the game. Just the eerie background and being smacked by some otherworldly force was the icing on the cake.
i wish the animations of the next switch games would look this cool, and with such a cool commentator bonus: its one of the few games in which blastoise actually fires from its cannons, and the whole animation is gorgeous
Well, it's SOME kind of variety. Granted, you can't really portray these kind of moves in console games (yes, Gale and PBR also do it) the same way you can in handheld games.
Sludge Bomb / Octozooka being a ball of congealed grime is SO good -- it looks dense, and solid, but is soft enough it just explodes into gunk once it hits Sad they removed the rainbow colouration on Bubble / Bubble Beam Drill Peck visually got better, but the lengthening of the animation negatively impacts the sfx -- it sounds worse, basically. Endure has a really nice sandy-gold effect. Coincidentally could be interpreted as a visual pun (Although, this is a bit of a reach!) Sand is gritty, and to enduring a fatal blow would be "grit" Fury Attack / Peck looks good, the shiny spikes are a good change from Stadium 1 Hydro Pump update is good, those water pillars are much nicer than the little puddle the original made; projectile is better detailed as well. Leer-esque attacks look so much better, those eyes look super cool Mega Punch/Kick are two of the most completely NOTHING attacks in the game... but the shattering metal shrapnel on the animation here is pretty cool I think the older psywave looked better.. The visual effect added to Roar to hide the switch is nice Strength being visually represented by a huge chunk of rock being tossed was always cooler than what it ended up becoming. I really like all the visual enhancements they did to the Thundershock-esque attacks -- they were all too similar in the previous entry, and they got some well-needed variations
So stressful when that gets used in a randomized version of this game… no idea what move they’ll use afterwards… Computers don’t just use it for no reason 😰
Comet Punch is called Consecutive Punch in Japan, and the move Meteor Mash in Gen 3 and onward is called Comet Punch. This is why the move gets buffed by the Iron Fist ability
