Billiam The reason the battery still works on your blue version is that it doesn’t have one. That didn’t start until gen2 with the need for the game to remember time of day.
All the Pokémon Gameboy games have a save battery. The Gen 2 games' batteries just died faster because of the clock feature. My Pokémon Red/Yellow's battery is also dead.
Nice video. The stadium games don't get much respect despite how fun they really are. Plus Pokémon Stadium was my first pokemon game. I didn't play pokemon on hand held until advance and I got emerald, and proceeded to burn out it's battery. I was really enjoying it until one moment. And in that moment I went from enjoying fan to pi55ed off suction cup man. You dissed Battle Network. The Battle Networks will fillet you if you go in thinking its easy. Also yes I would like to see a return of Stadium with all current Gens, but with the way gaming is now it most likely would end up on mobile, and fun stuff would be pay walled. If not and it end up on console then I'd buy a switch just for that game. Again great video now I'm going to catch up with your other ones.
I still wish there was a Stadium 3. With the updated graphics, bringing back all the mini games with more Pokémon to use for those games, and maintaining the same features as the previous Stadium games; this would be the greatest accomplishment since the Coliseum games and Revolution.
Tania Bams there was,it's called stadium 2,the original game did not come out in the us,it wasn't well received in jp,so they made a sequel with better features
yes, and with rental pokemon who dont suck. seriously. the achilles heel of these games is the balance. you are pretty much REQUIRED to used the pokemon you raised yourself in other games. as the rental pokemon are absolute GARBAGE in comparison to the ai which uses illegal movesets and are ev trained. if you dont have at least one game from both the first two generations then the stadium games will be an RNG-laden HELLHOLE.
I never lose the sandshrew digging game .... Never.... My friends didnt believe me and I set it to the hardest difficulty, smashed all the PCs then they all tried me ... Lets just say my sandshrew dug 3 graves that day.
You know what's really one of the main reason why I like Pokemon Stadiums? It's the realistic cries they implement. Now we just have the Gameboy cries but with a bit of a twist.
Gonna be honest here, you missed a LOT of what made Stadium 2 so great. Along with the Super Game Boy function, it also came with its own version of Pokemon Bank which let you store Pokemon AND Items, a 3D version of your GSC room, and even someone to Mystery Gift with every day. And I can't believe you forgot to mention the Trainer School! It not only had an all-inclusive Pokedex featuring stats and movesets, it also taught more expansive strategies with real-time sims to help teach the lessons to a community used to smashing A to win.
And if they could wireless link it up with the R,B, and Y virtual console games. Oh it would be awesome. I would want the same for Pokemon Stadium 2, and wireless link up to Gold, Silver, and Crystal virtual console games too.
I've got an n64 with. Blue version and transfer pack and I've been spending months training on the GB tower then battling the arenas. Still incredibly entertaining to me. Finally got that surfing pikachu which was a total pain
@@TheDeathmail animations are a part of graphics, along with models, textures, resolution, etc. A highly detailed model that barely moves isn't more visually impressive than a slightly less detailed model with vibrant animations. So in a sense yes SwSh is much less graphically impressive than a 13 year old Wii game.
That was the point of the stadium etc games though, they had moves, it was baller. Why don't you grab a calculator real quick an do the math of how many animations they would have to make for each pokemon to have an animated move for every move they have? It doesn't make sense.
@@TheBearOfSpades well they already have at least two attack animations for every Pokémon, and have been reusing animations and models for the majority of those Pokémon for almost 7 years now. There's videos of amateur animators in college who are able to make one decent animation for a single Pokémon in about a day. So it's not really unreasonable to expect a professional game dev studio with multiple professional animators to complete maybe 2 or 3 animations in a day, probably more but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt. They don't have to add animations for every Pokémon, for example Magikarp and other fish-like mons who can't have many dynamic movements due to lack of limbs. I actually did do a bit of math, considering the factors above and giving the devs a lot of leeway, despite them being a long-standing development team that is part of the largest media franchise in the world. Let's assume such a company can only spare 2 animators to work exclusive on Pokemon battle animations, and that those animators can only work as fast as a college student who made an animation for a Pokémon within one day. Assuming they work 5 days a week, that's 261 days they are spending working on making one single Pokémon animation. Between the two of them, that's 522 new attack animations within one year. If they release a Pokémon game in 2 years instead of shoving out yearly releases like they have been, that's 1044 new animations they could make. Enough to add at least one to every Pokémon, plus a lot leftover to give two new animations to special/popular Pokémon like Charizard, Pikachu, Mewtwo, starters, etc. So is it really that outrageous to want a little bit more effort from the devs who are part of the largest media franchise in the world today? I mean I know that doesn't mean Gamefreak makes billions of dollars, but they've definitely seen a nice chunk of those record-breaking sales figures from Sword/Shield.
I just want the Stadium style adopted into the main series now that it is on Switch. That is, more intricate pokemon animations and actual stadiums as backgrounds, as well as the sweeping camera angles from the console games. I understand the 3DS probably couldn't handle it, so the Switch is the perfect opportunity to make battles look epic again.
@@justsomejojo sword and shield legendary dogs spin in place with a static model, where did they even go wrong all of their good energy ends up on the spinoffs tho, it's really weird
The transfer pack was actually too slow to let you play Gameboy games directly. Instead, Stadium and Stadium 2 have the full Gameboy games loaded onto their cartidges where you can play them via emulation. All the transfer pack does is copy your save data back and forth.
From what i understand, this is false As someone was able to load MarioLand onto it, meaning the game somehow emulates GB games, the pnly restriction is some flag
actually, there's footage of someone playing a wario game on it. i don't remember the specifics, but what i do know is that stadium just wouldn't allow anything but pokemon.
@@gregorymirabella1423 There's someone playing Wario on it because they injected Wario ROM into the Pokemon Stadium ROM. The transfer pak only works with Pokemon cartridges.
I really, REALLY hope they don't run with the X/Y/Sun/Moon visual aesthetic on the Switch. Yes, the cel-shading looked nice and saved the 3DS from running Pokemon games at 2fps, but the series deserves better visuals on the Switch. I just hope that Pokemon's visual quality on Switch is on par with the likes of Splatoon2, ARMS, and Mario Odyssey.
X/Y had better visuals than Gen7, also no Let's Go looks like more of Alola visuals from what I've seen. The fact only Gen1 & some Gen7 Pokemon are in Let's Go kind of bothers me. Let's Go, messes up my nostalgia from what I've seen of it so far. I was hoping for a Kanto that felt like Japan, although now I'm theorizing that The Pokemon War was where America conquered Kanto.
I hope they bring life back into the models. They might look "nice" in the xy+ models but they have no animations to them. The old stadium models had more life for God's sake. But sheep will be sheep and buy anything with the title pokemon on it...
Actually Tena, there are clear differences, take a look at the character models, some of them look much worse in Alola than XY. You have to be blind to tell me that the trainer models are even related between the 2 games. As for the Pokemon Models there are a few that just look not as good in Sun & Moon as they looked in the Gen6 games.
The announcers german voice actor is the same guy who does Borderlands Handsome Jack Voice for us (Which he did a really good job with) and it's so strange to listen to him in Pokemon Stadium nowadays xD
loved the stadium series, but PBR will always have a special place in my heart, it was the first time I was able to play online pokemon easily, and the announcer was awesome, as was the music!
gigagaminggamer Mario party top 100 is pretty good. I doubt a modern pkmn stadium would have the same charm anyways. Tbh I was on the same boat as you til I found showdown and realized how Nintendo would never do something like it. I’m okay with rental teams but it’s way cool if you can make your own. Also this way you can call out your friends that are like “yeah I was soooo good at Pokémon *beats elite 4 once and thinks game is complete*” At the very least showdown can tide you over til Nintendo disappoints us again. Oh yeah also Nintendo will never be cross platform. Everyone has a computer or phone and this game is free. Oh yeah and one final thought, this game acknowledges the competitive meta and allows different classes ie monotype, lite cup, whatever you like. Another thing Nintendon’t.
Devils advocate: we won't get another stadium due to the base games are 3d and have access to battles via Wi-Fi. Minigames in ultra include , mantine surfing, ultra space rodeo, and instead of the trainer tower you have the battle tree. Am I saying its 100% (no) Am I saying I'm disappointed in what the current gen is (maybe a little) Do I miss high venisaur (yes man and I know its spelled wrong but brutta you gotta chill) My point is nalstolgia is good but don't get tunnel vision from it
SEXSTUD here, and wow, seeing my old friends again really brought a tear to my glazed red eyes, Peup Charmalar Buzzed Chronic...the groups all here, take good care of em for me bud, I'll miss ya bros. [- Message sent via Boost Mobile-]
One of the reasons why i liked gen 1 and 2 so much, the stadium games, and the tradebacks. They all were connected with each other, in some ways, and after i finished the story, i then started building a team that could take on r2 in both stadium games. Tradebacks were good, you could learn so many new moves, like elemental punch alakazam in stadium was amazing. Then gen 3 came along, pokemon never felt the same for me anymore.
Now pbr is being used against sword and shield and plus I'm so sorry that your dream didn't come true no the switch (can but isn't) like the great animation in pbr
Dude nostalgia is over 9000 right now! Thank you for making this video!!! I actually really enjoyed using the rental Pokemon as their unusual move sets forced me to try out different teams which was quite a challenge as a child. But I wont forget the times beating the s out of the gym leaders with my own team over and over again and the long nights playing those minigames :D
Pokemon colusuem and XD gale of darkness could never fill the void that stadium left. Doe it was a nice substitute....wes was sooo awesome then he was gone....
@@AwesomeMooseSmile well not the same game. You couldn't make a party of whatever pokemon you wanted. To do that you needed the Gameboy games. I can see some stadium ideas in the Colosseum games but they're 2 separate things. Though the Colosseum games had a better story than the actual Pokemon games so gamefreak shut them down before they could make a 3rd one like they were supposed to
Man, this reminds me of how much i loved Battle Rev and battling online with my teams. Also how HORRFIICALLY DIFFICULT the little cup arena was to clear for that damn nice looking stage
My favorite memory of this game was playing with my brother who knew nothing about Pokemon, letting him pick first and then picking ones that were strong against his. Then watching his face as his little sister beat him and then explained in detail how I did it. It was just... *chefs kiss*
I never grew up with the first two stadium games but I played Colosseum and XD and I was a huge fan of the lore they set out to make. I still go back to those games every now and again to roam around and battle. So when I heard that there wasn't any campaign in Battle revolution I was really disappointed and never picked it up. It's been upsetting that it's taken until the switch for another main console Pokemon game that mimics the main series, and even then the Let's Go titles seem like a hybrid with the Go game.
Yknow I miss the original 3D designs from stadium and the gam cube games. They gave so much more personality than the 3DS ones. Persian and Raichu in particular come to mind. Granted I know why the 3DS ones are plainer since there are SO many Pokémon and the 3DS can barely handle it as it is, but still...
There could be a precedent for a game/application like this on the switch. Apparently, gamefreak is saying that let’s go Pikachu/Eevee Is being made with TV mode in mind while the 2019 games are being made with handheld mode in mind. An app could be made that has all the HD Pokémon models, additional battle facilities and other things of that sort that can connect to your game card in the switch and your Pokémon bank online. Whereas the mainline games would focus on the handheld gameplay (with the original, official Pokémon game rules) and the let’s go games are for new players/casuals, this application could be made with the core Pokémon gameplay and graphical flares of the let’s go games, making it a different, substantive product all its own. You could also have mini games and other fun, side applications that wouldn’t be in a regular Pokémon game. Making it worth the investment. And I love your idea of keeping it continually updated, like Pokémon bank. It’s a “game as service” kind of application. My two cents anyway. Great video 👍🏼
I loved playing battle revolution with my friends. And the fact that you can make all the pokemon set at lvl 50 makes it balanced unlike the normal versus mode in gen 4. Even though BR wasn't a "full game" I loved the style and personally for me it was a good add on for battling. And gen 4 competitive is a blast to play to this day.
A nice little side note: the Stadium Games also had the Trainer School. It taught you basic stuff (that’d you pick up through playing a bit), as well as some more obscure yet vital meta-knowledge, like the importance of buffs, switching, mind games, and how certain moves interact with each other (weather effects, fly/dig penetration, etc.). Really helped me get into the competitive scene when I was younger and most internet guides were ‘figure it out yourself! Noob!’
Rarely ever played the Battle mode for this game, my family and I would instead play the mini games. Ended up being a tradition of sorts, we would all gather together on a Sunday night and play a few rounds of the Mini game tournaments. One of my fondest gaming memories is finally beating my step dad in the Scyther, Pinsir wood cutting game. Cheers for the trip down memory lane Billiam.
That last part of the video about the hopes for the Switch Pokémon game really aged like milk. :( they gave us Gen 5, and haven’t delivered a complete game since 2012.
When the Wii first came out, a lot of people suspected that Stadium 3 was coming. Instead, we Battle Revolution, which was basically Stadium. But it got such mixed reviews, which is why we haven't gotten anything similar since then. B.R. actually had all the capabilities that Stadium had, you could transfer Pokemon from your D.S. games into B.R. and use them instead of the stock options. But on top of that was obviously being able to battle and trade with people online, and all the arcade style campaigns. There was more to the game but it's been forever since I played. B.R. was basically the Battle Frontier of Sinnoh.
It was definitely missing some of what made the Stadium series so well-loved. The Stadium games were the best way to play the GB titles, because they had Doduo and Dodrio mode - which came with the bonus feature of not having to burn through your parents' supply of AA or AAA batteries. They also had minigames and rental Pokemon, and while the rental Pokemon weren't that great, the features still allowed players to freely get their feet wet long enough to suck them in. They also had more reward Pokemon and Stadium II even had a move relearner. On top of that, the fact that the Stadium games could be used to quickly transfer and store your Mons was amazingly convenient, and it's a shame Pokemon Box for the Gamecube was only available in New York. As gorgeous as this game looks, people definitely expected more from a console Pokemon game. Not only was it missing a huge list of features from previous console games that would have been quite worthwhile there, it also missed a good opportunity to complement changes that had occurred since those days. PBR could have come with GBA transfer functionality, given how slow the process of transferring was as is. There could have been a farm for easy berry production. It could have unlocked options for competitive training, such as an XD Mt. Battle style area requiring transferred Mons that gave them EXP, leveling all the way to 100, or easy access to high quality vitamins & berries that allowed for better EV management, or a breeding station that slowly unlocked more direct control with passing down IVs, natures, and abilities the more coupons you sunk into it. Hell, just more visibility in terms of seeing IVs & EVs, and knowing specifically what natures did, would have gone a long way. In all honesty, the lack of easy training options is one of the reasons I never really bothered with PBR compared to Stadium. Thanks to Missingno, it was easy to get a team of level 100s, all pumped up with vitamins, all equipped with copies of the best TMs you could find. Even if you did your first playthrough without saving Nuggets, Rare Candies, or TMs, the ability to transfer Mons into the console game and then restart the portable one to go get them was still considerably faster than most legitimate training options in the games since.
i was gonna say "you're nuts how could you enjoy battle revolution that much!? did you just praise the boring narrator!?" and then you started the slamming, and all is well with the world, i agree, the minigames and the 250-ish rental pokemon of the first two stadiums were the best, along with the other little extras (like customizing your room in stadium 2), and the story mode of coliseum was very neat, i especially liked the fact that you were a villain-turned-good in the first one.
I remember taking part in a Pokémon tournament when I was younger in Southampton, if you attended the event you could get a Mew downloaded to your Red/Blue cartridge. If you finished in the top 8 you could then go to London and take part in the finals, my brother went to London but lost in the first round
I wish they would do a continuation on the Colosseum series. That series was probably my favorite thing to play growing up (well, besides the main series game on a hand held).
Man, I really liked Battle Revolution. It's also one of the the only Pokémon games that had it's own unique main theme. Speaking of which; PBR's soundtrack was great in general. And I wish Sword and Shield's visuals were anywhere as good as PBR.
When he said megaman wasn’t using the title battle network anymore I shed a single tear. Also because colosseum and xd are my favorite Pokémon games and rip stadium
A full 7 Gen (8 gen?) rental roster in a new Stadium would legitimately make me nut. Maybe make the Legendaries unlockable from clearing the countless modes. And the Minigames! Think of the possibilities! Colosseum was a fine divergence, but Battle Revolution was lackluster. (not counting the soundtrack, like usual)
I love Pokemon Stadium on the 64! My 64 still works and I'm so thankful i still get to play this game. It started glitching recently (which the ways it has, has me scarred) so I might buy a newer version (giving its literally worked 20 years nonstop) Glad I found your channel, I love it so far!
I loved the Stadium games, not only because of the 3D aspect but because of the rental it helped me really learn the battle mechanics when it came to type advantages/disadvantages.
I'm so glad I'm not the only person who was obsessed with Pokemon Stadium and want a new proper installment. I played Gold on the N64 almost as much as the proper game.
The announcer's name is Ted Lewis and he's Giovanni and Tracey from Pokemon as well as a number of other characters from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Kirby, and a number of other things. www.imdb.com/name/nm0507793/?ref_=tt_cl_t2
with the whole issue surrounding sword/shield and the national dex it feels like having a new stadium like game with all the pokemon supported would be awesome.
Stadium 2 was sooo good. As a young kid I was able to be apart of Pokémon games without the actual main games. Barreling was still fun but the party games was the best part of it. They were pretty interesting and it’s sad that they don’t make those anymore.
You could honestly get so much more mileage out of the game if it was focused completely on a PBR + Stadium format used to literally replace/reestablish the Battle Frontier. Even title the game: Pokémon Battle Frontier. And have it essentially be an overworld style depiction of frontier facilities, combining the 2D facility locations and aesthetics with the overworld game-function front desks from Xenoverse, with the actual facility fields being represented in professional stadium fashion like in PBR. 1. Bring back each and every minigame from Stadium 1 and 2, no matter how simplistic and asinine. (Have some minigame center with a menu NPC to trigger the traditional minigame menu and game style.) 2. Include a Complete Battle Frontier using PBR's Colosseum system to present each established facility from Gen 3 and 4. (So have the Tower(s), Arena, Pyramid etc. and all of their respective brains all show up in the PBR established style of location and location boss.) 3. Include the entire Pokedex available for rental teams with reasonably customizable move sets. (ex: no Gen 3 event transfer moves, Gen 3/4/5 only tutor moves, stuff like that, keep the moves accessible and logical but modern standard.) 4. Character customization, whether as simple as PBR and X&Y or as robust as Black Desert. (lol can you imagine? I can't.) 5. Update alongside each generation in tandem with Pokémon Bank. (Including multiple teams for frontier brains.) 6. Include trainer cameos. (Basically like how the Battle Tree tried to do but with a real passion and effort put into it. Have occasional event trainers like Cynthia or Red appear in the hub to which you can trigger special event battles, or have them included in the base game with a healthy percent chance to face them in facilities after certain number win streaks.)
I'm a little late in discovering this video but I've been wanting Pokemon Stadium 3 since Colosseum kinda disappointed me on launch during my childhood. Thanks for making this video Billiam.
I cry every time. Stadium 2 was the childhood that made me love my 64. I demand a stadium 3. A REAL Pokemon Stadium 3. Not that I don't like Battle Revolution, but there's something that PBR couldn't replicate with Stadium. I need those amazing remixes, move animation, AND THOSE ANNOUNCERS back. if it's 2 phrases I'll always remember.... *RIDE THAT SURF!* *HERE IT COMES... THUNDER!* Oh and the OHKO phrases in stadium 2... *T H A T W A S B R U T A L* *GRAAAAAAAAAAAAND SLAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!*
I remember reading after stadium 2 came out about how there would never be a 3rd stadium. After all, argued the article, the whole draw for stadium was the 3d and 3d was no longer novel. Then they came out with a 3rd anyway ^^
Damn it's been a while since I've seen Battle Revolution. That games visuals were great and the soundtrack might be one of the best in the entire Pokemon series, in my opinion. I just wish there was more to do in the game.
Yeah. The Stadium, Colosseum, and Battle Revolution general series had so many things to it that not even Ultra Sun and Moon seem to figure out. Things like Pokémon being actually animated and moving in their own ways when hit or attacking. Also, the actual playable trainers having at least SOME personality to them instead of NOTHING AT ALL, LIKE IN USUM!
During 2008 was when Battle Revolution was my Jam! Not to mention during 2009-2010. Life for me felt like a cybernetic civilization back then, esspecially living in NY. Which I still do.
I was hoping he'd mention the Pokemon Academy in the stadium games. That was actually my favorite part, despite how many battles I failed for sometimes winning the wrong way, I thought it was a lot of fun trying to figure out other ways to win a battle with the team they gave me. Oh, and just speed guessing through the quizzes once they got harder.
How about a full pokemon RPG with a League, Stadium, Contests, a Poke'star studios, the whole nine yards where you can flesh out your own trainer and how YOU want to move through the pokemon world, how you train your pokemon, *Your trainer's age* and more. IGN: "Like Skyrim, with pokeballs" Also IGN: "Too much sky 7.8"
2:16 The Gameboy Tower runs through emulation, while the Wideboy 64 and the Gameboy Player contains actual hardware from the Gameboy consoles and only uses the N64/Gamecube as a video output and controller input. When you only have support for a couple of games, you can make a lot of shortcuts in the emulation since it won't be noticed in just those particular games.
Honestly, I think the new Switch game should include a mode like this from now on. Considering Pokémon is going to continue on a home console. It doesn't really leave any room for a Stadium type game. Like you were saying though, just include it with the game or make it DLC. I know there are players out there dying for special battle facilities like a Battle Frontier, so it makes sense to do it in some capacity. But more than anything, I want my minigames back. Actually, just give me Barrier Ball and we're cool Game Freak. Awesome video though, man. Subscribed. Definitely looking forward to more videos like this!
My only concern is the insane amount of Pokemon now. I would like for them to make a stadium game with as even more fun content as the older ones, but with alllll the new pokemon it's a lot to fit on now, and people would complain if it wasn't fully compatible with every single one they raised on their games.
To be honest, if they had an announcer in the main games, I would love to see it in online, gym, and elite four/champion battles at the very least. Imagine fighting the champion with a npc crowd watching you battle the champion with epic music in the background while the announcer announces each move and ko with flair. That's my dream pokemon game feature.
I loved playing Stadiums 1 and 2 a lot when I was a kid. It was a lot of fun playing through the stadium modes, mini games, and it was even more fun with playing with your OWN pokemon from your game boy games. XD had an amazing storyline, and a great evil crime organization. But Battle Revolution was a huge let down. Aside from the Wi-Fi battling. I honestly wouldn't mind having a new stadium game. Not just because of the 3D aspects, but just because what made those 3D spin off games fun were the battle modes, and mini game modes. Gamefreak really should consider doing this.
I love this game!! And i still have my Nintendo 64 and the pokemon stadium 2 game!! Its such a fun game. I just really wish the stadium series continued... Like we now have like 7 generations of pokemon and we haven't had a new pokemon stadium since the second one. We really should get a new pokemon stadium video game with all 7 generations.
Something cool about the first pokemon stadium is that nicknames determined the color of your Pokemon's sprite, and there was some color variation, some of the weird nicknames are just ways in which the NPC pokemon names are supposed to help you find out the right suffix, I believe it was mostly about calling them dashhy, dashlar *for rapidash, I never attempted shifting the caps of names but could be more effective than actual names. cool sounding ones or even pet or human names won't easily result in a color shift, very unlikly. , there were a few variations of color by nickname, even for mewtwo. Shinies were only first met in H,G,C. I don-t believe they kept the funny names by stadium 2 for any special reason. somehow numbers as suffixies might have been it. I used the Misssingno. glitch to create masterballs and my missingno.s pokemon blue was producing Mewtwos on the spot where you find Missingno (This is determined I believe by your trainer ID number somehow) I captured a few and called them MEWONE MEWTWO MEWTHREE MEWFOUR MEWFIVE ... until ELEVEN.. Thought them a couple different TMS and tested them out on STADIUM, numbers produce a big variation, might be the key to shifting those sprite colors, What I mean is that I remember numbers being very effective suffix as well; remember this shouldn't work in Stadium 2 since Shinies were already common established.
I still have my N64 with Stadium and Transfer Pack. I remember when it came out and it was amazing. I even recently upgraded my Game Boy Color to have a back lit screen so i can play Pokémon Red when ever i want. Even in bed with the lights off :) its pretty awesome
I remember having a dream of seeing Pokemon Stadium 3 in a store in 2005. Then at the end it was Pokemon Colosseum and I woke up. (Yes I have weird dreams sometimes)
I actually got Battle Revolution without a DS and... it sucks. Yeah, the presentation is nice and the customization is cool, but there's like 30? Available pokémon to choose from (after beating the game). You get 12 to start from, which can be upgraded to 36 after beating the same colosseum multiple times... No aditional game modes, and while the colosseums offered some much neeeded variety early on... They were far, far from enough. Wouldn't touch it again, just play Stadium 2 instead, or even Colosseum/XD if you want story.
I think Battle Revolution has the best animated 3-D sprites and attack animations of any pokemon game thus far. Has anyone seen flamethrower in that game, or what rain or hail looked like, or listened to the Magma coliseum soundtrack (that last point went off track)? Hell yes! And then Pokemon Ranch/Rumble has the cutest sprites, ever ever. :)
I never owned a 64 which always bummed me out as a child. But I have played pokemon stadium on friends consoles and I always enjoyed the battles and especially the mini games, I always wondered how to have my own pokemon on there even though I never had a game boy. BUT I do agree there needs to be a new poke stadium, the sales would sky rocket, but they need to do it justice and do it right.
Does battle revolution still work with gen 4 games anymore? You said something about WiFi being required. I got my disk scratched when a friend gave it to me. So... does it still work correctly?
Minako Hiashi So? You still have to pay for new games Games take money to make, and unless its a mobile free to play game, it shouldn't be Free There are exactly 0 reason for it to be free, especially a game like colosseum
I would love another Stadium-style game. I think it would work decently well as post-game material for Gen 8 or even just as it's own thing like it use to be.
I personally think Coliseum and Gale of darkness could have combined the gameplay modes of the first two games with its story mode. Make it akin to the Subspace emissary from Brawl. Maybe one of the selling points could be the idea of building your own team in the story mode to use is the gym leader castle and other modes. On that note, here are some ideas for game modes Poke Cup: Similar to the poke cup from earlier entries Prime Cup: Similar to Stadium 2’s prime cup Junior Cup: A combination of the little cup from 2 and the petit cup from 1 Double Cup: A new cup where every battle is a double battle. This will replace the challenge cup and pika cup. Thoughts? Feel free to critique.
The reason there was never a Pokemon Statdium 4 on the Wii U was because Gamefreak said "With the Nintendo handhelds now allowing full 3D models, there's no need to show case 3D Pokemon on consoles" hence why we only got 2 Pokemon games on the Wii U. Now with the Switch killing of any chance of Nintendo having a another handheld only console, Gamefreak switched to the Switch for the next Pokemon games, now we can more Poekemon games on Nintendo consoles then ever, but in doing this, another Pokemon Stadium will likley never happen as the mainline games already has a online battle.
I so want more like XD Gale of Darkness that game was awesome to me, although Battle Revolution was fun it also (you are correct) lacked content, but that concept you have is brilliant I hope that they pick up on it we need to spam Nintendo's official Twitter and/or RU-vid channel with this video
