Hey everyone, Twig387 here! In this video I'll be attempting to beat Pokémon Ultra Moon without ever once taking damage! After seeing RU-vidr Smallant complete this challenge in Pokémon Platinum, I just had to try it out for myself, and what better games to play than the notoriously difficult Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon?
This was a little different than the Pokémon challenges I do, since I'm used to Pokemon nuzlockes and Pokemon Monotype nuzlockes, but a lot not fun nevertheless! I thought it'd be good to try out a variety of challenges, as we patiently wait for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon shining pearl, although I might almost be more hyped about Pokemon Legends Arceus, since there's so little we still know about it.

Let's start a discussion: What's the proper way to pronounce "Z" (it's zed btw)? Also note: The reset counter goes up throughout the video, as I accidentally got hit by some wild Pokémon or trainer but wasn't able to capture it... I don't record all my footage as that would leave me with hundreds of hours of footage. I'm very sorry about that and I hope you don't mind!

@@noneyabusiness9819 ye he did but the difference with platinum and ultra moon is that their is a lot more abilities and moves and priority changes, if fake out was the same priority as it is today (for platinum) then pokemon platinum woulve been impossible (talking about that fat purugly) just saying

A tip for future USUM runs: Necrozma has a capture rate of 255 in USUM which means a Quick Ball thrown on Turn 1 will ALWAYS catch it. You can save your Master Ball for an Ultra Wormhole legendary or Solgaleo/Lunala or something else important with a low catch rate.

Just as a suggestion, wouldn't tsareena be a good pokemon to catch, in this run based on her queenly majesty ability so you can't be hit by priority moves

Funny you should say that! Around the time I was fighting totem Kommo-O I thought of the same thing, but I really didn’t feel like levelling up Tsareena all the way to level 80 hahah! Just came down to me being slighlty lazy😅

See, I don't really get why in gen 8 they heavily nerfed disguise and then made another ability that's essentially old disguise but only against physical moves, but you can also renew it every turn.

When i first got ultra moon i was struggling with lurantis (i picked popplio) so i decided i would level up my trumbeak or catch a higher level one my first encounter was a shiny trumbeak that i still use while completing the dex to this day

You did what I did during my ultra sun game. I used an Arbok and the fight against Necrozma went like a dream. Same thing with the mewtwo fight in rainbow rocket Illusion is such a lifesaving ability

Fun fact. When you encounter necrozma after having defeated it before (so in the mountain) it has a 255 catch rate. So its very easy to catch with a pokeball at full health

The only criticism I have is at the Trainer School you can talk to a student and receive the Quick Claw, which drastically increases your odds of going first if the opposing mon outspeeds you. :) great job in the video though man huge props.

Makes me wanna share my USUM playthrough team - Well this is the Team I'm using now, has I've planned to play through every Pokemon game casually for fun, nothing intense like these. My team so far is - Brionne, Bagon, Eevee (named Sparky), Hawlucha and Magnemite. Fun fact - all Pokemon on my team have got Pokerus going on for them lol😅

Hey twig, instead of leveling your starter all the way up to level 34 to avoid fake out, could you not catch a meowth which could also use fake out to out-prioritise the makuhita?

You could also pick Litten for more consistent early game since Ember kills the bugs. Then just catch your own Makuhita then level it to be faster than Hala for Fake out(I forget if that’s version exclusive tho?)

I’m sure the master ball was overkill for necrozma. I remember my first run through and accidentally found out that a quick ball is pretty much 100% catch rate first turn.

@@Twig387 I was in utter disbelief it caught, out of curiosity I checked the catch rate and was severely underwhelmed! Although you had no other Pokemon to catch in the run so makes sense using the master ball!

Without wanting to put down the achievement, it does just come down to getting very lucky with early levelling and then most of it is just Mould Breaker/Priority near the end other than just grinding
