area zero is just so full of mystery and intrigue and i was not expecting pokemon to go in such a wild direction. and i really love arven here especially. chasing his neglectful parent he hadn't seen in years, down into the place his best friend mabosstiff was gravely injured, and he braves it all and even gives a pep talk to the pokemon who "ruined [his] childhood". which is kinda sad to hear him say since it was kinda like arven's sibling, given that the -raidon arrived in area zero around when arven was born according to the research notes. this game really went in a darker more emotional direction than i typically expect from pokemon, and it just keeps adding gut punches from here. get your tissues ready for the next episode, you're gonna need em 😢
You know what, the secret cave area might be how you get to a new area for the Indigo disc DLC. It is kind of the only place in the area without any purpose.
It's nice to hear love for the Future Pokemon, most of the time online I see them get bashed for being "literally [X] but metal" and not being as "creative" as the Ancient Pokemon. I like the animation on Jugulis' wings, seeing their interlocking parts moving up and down. 16:50 "There are only two reported sightings of this Pokemon. Both were deemed 'naughty' and destroyed." 17:45 Penny's '0' face lol. Why does Penny talk about dying so much in this arc? Morbid, much? (lol right after I type this Arven gets in on it too) Even before it started glitching I got red flags from the Professor beginning a sentence with "Hello children". NEVER a good sign. My headcanon on the Ancient and Future Pokemon is a bit different, though I'll admit, it's heavily influenced by me being a Persona fan. Personally, I don't think they're REALLY from the past/future. I think something, either the time machine or some strange Pokemon, manifested humanity's thoughts on what ancient and future Pokemon MIGHT look like. Brute Bonnet still has a Pokeball design despite supposedly coming from a time millions of years before Pokeballs, for one. The Scarlet/Violet books are described as occult magazines and pseudoscience, and I wonder if something latched on to that, manifesting conspiracy theories in physical form. I like how Penny recognizes too. I was just starting to think that her Team Star arc was the least relevant here, but the theme of bullying is still apparent, just with Pokemon this time, and her being able to recognize that in Miraidon was very important.
I’d say they just proclaim multiverse and then as the name “paradox” with a Time Machine that they are Pokémon that shouldn’t exist being brought thru time like this, which would alter time and blah blah blah etc etc etc
Problem is we've been proclaiming love for the future of Pokemon since the Switch came out and it still hasn't delivered except for Pokemon Legends Arceus which was a breath of fresh air
@@eliack95 I was highly turned-off of Legends due to feeling like they pandered to the "Pokemon HAS to go open world" crowd, but I hear it's decent for what it is. Its battle system feels radically different from the main games and no multiplayer to truly take advantage of it, which puts me off somewhat. It feels more like a traditional exploration-heavy RPG, but I feel I could just... play one of those instead? I look for different things when I play Pokemon.
It didn’t even occur to me that you can catch pokemon that used up consumable items and they still have the item upon capture. Also shiny hunting was made so easy that I shiny hunted all the past paradox Pokémon not once but twice first time I kept the second time was to trade for future paradox shinies. Fun fact Koraidon’s paradox Pokémon name is Aegis Rex and Miraidon’s paradox name is iron serpent
Yeah I didn't realize for the longest time that it was changed so consumable items were only consumed FOR THE BATTLE. I was used to that only happening when you were linked up with other players (raids or pvp) but in regular gameplay once is was used it was GONE. But they changed it for ScarVi so that it's only gone for the fight, you get it back after. Which is SO useful.
@@TheKpa11 it’s real paradox name is winged king I just remember that the scientific name of king is Rex and I mistook it’s scientific name for wing as aegis when it’s actually Alatus so it’s scientific name is Alatus Rex aka winged king
@@dominickucela6144 my bad I made a mistake because I didn’t exactly remember the scientific names that were posted for the past paradox Pokémon which were much cooler than their real paradox names and I was unable to look it up to confirm it but at least I remembered miraidon’s paradox name which is easier to remember because all future paradox names are iron followed by something describing the Pokémon their based on and that’s another reason the past paradox are better than future paradox
Funny thing about the secret cave for me is that I didn't know where it was considering it's where you find [something], and I thought it was the cave next to Research Station 3, so in the end I had to Google search where it was.
Okay, finally time I get around to watching this. I've been distracted by other things over the past week. (0:00) Heh, I did that cheering pose in front of the Elite Four after I defeated them before I moved on to face the champion, and their heads bobbed up and down like that too. (1:30) Yeah, I don't know what the deal is with that. I've gotten the "Go Back Up" prompt while walking down hills in Area Zero as well. Using it takes you back up the hill a bit. (2:24) I don't have to worry about spoilers, because I found this cave on my own too, before watching you play this part of Area Zero. (3:03) I was like, "Hydreigon?!" as well when I first spotted this thing myself, but then I realized that it's a robotic version, and battling it revealed to me that it was Iron Jugulis. Fortunately, I was able to just capture it in a Quick Ball. (3:10) Wow, lucky. Mine didn't come with a Booster Energy. (4:16) Pretty decent nature for your Iron Jugulis there. (6:01) Oof, three hours to find this place again? (7:43) I considered having an honor battle with my own Iron Treads here, but decided instead to stick with the Gholdengo I was leading with, so I wouldn't waste a turn with a switch. It took two Shadow Balls to defeat it, and my Gholdengo ate a Stomping Tantrum in the process, but took less than 50% damage. (8:55) I wonder how the game would handle it if a level up from one of these fixed fights would result in a new move being learned or an evolution? (16:29) Yep, I made sure to catch an Iron Bundle here. Since it's part Water, I caught it in a Net Ball. (18:05) Actually, if you fall off, the game will say that you hurried back to join the others so that you don't get separated, and you'll respawn at the previous research station. (19:33) Oh, that is really neat. I wonder if the same power is somehow at work while battling the Elite Four as well, since you can Terastallize in each battle there. (20:25) Heh, nice cut-in with that earlier cutscene there. (22:27) Speaking of busted up, methinks Turo is "busted up" too... (22:33) Heh, nice modification of the glitchy Turo voice there. (22:56) Welp, I guess Turo had a BSoD moment and needed to be rebooted. (24:11) "If only there were two of me." Hmm... (27:14) Yeah, I already caught my Dudunsparse here. I honestly don't what's more scarier to fight the first time when playing any Pokemon game blind. The Ultra Beasts or the Paradox Pokemon? Both Pokemon that are different than ordinary ones.
So when I got to the underground cave, I caught my first iron bundle. And then turned around and found a shiny one. Looks like you're still probably gonna finish with one more than me (my 4 to your 5) but I'll take it... shame I already had an iron bundle from a previous save file, but oh well. Anyway, I had no idea you could terastralize infinitely down here! Neat!
I love Iron Jugulis so much. It's so dopey in its animations, and yeah it isn't super strong but it gets the job done. Not my favorite Future Paradox though...
The illustration rare cards in the new Paradox Rift set seems to provide a good insight on to how the future the Iron Pokemon are from looks. Not sure if that would be canon or not though
I’m not a fan of the lack of depth they go into with a Pokémon and its poke ball Comes off more that they’re trying to compensate when it was brought up how pokeballs were tools to contain Pokémon and leash them; in the anime it’s treated mostly as a gag and they’re also not clear of the pros and cons of it By bringing up that they “Have a choice” when in a ball just sounds like gaslighting by the game, that they’re free creatures choosing to be alongside humans Like “See, they have free Will because of the bond they share”
Something I’ve never tried. Changing the language, to the region that’s being depicted. Like here it’s supposed to be Spain right? So that means the names of the paradox mons would change and probably sound better when they’re not just English pun names
I believe spanish pokemon are just english pokemon names but the paradox mons do have changed names.
