I literally love how insanely brutal Alder's team against Grass types. Three Bug types (one part fire and one part steel), A dragon, An ice type and A pokemon with the ability sap sipper (which is literally an immunity to grass types).
Takanashi if you started with Snivy, like I did, you probably learned the hard way. I used leech seed with Serperior w/o even knowing sap sipper existed. This battle quickly turned into coil and hyper potion spamming. Thank God I had aerial ace.
? All the Alder hate in this comments section blows me away. I LOVE Alder, his character, design, theme, team, i think everything's great. What is the reason everyone hates him so much?
IG because he was so pathetically due to his team being unbalanced. That, and he is a post game battle, so to some it makes it easier since they probably have time to prepare better or grind more. To add insult to injury, he came after Cynthia, who is the most popular (and hardest) champion. As a character, I think a lot of people like him, but as a champion, he's lack luster. Honestly it's like GameFreak was setting him up to fail
@@maxie2670 but wasnt the reason that the complaints of Adler were because of how easy he was for a pokemon league rematch Or to be more precise how adler failed to "git gud" against the player
His team is just a mishmash I would have made his team Accelgor/Escavilier or Scolipede Braviary (Mandibuzz in Black) Bouffalant or Stoutland Gigalith Zebstrika or Eelektross Volcarona A bit more balanced
I still think it’s so funny that the champions are hyped up so damn hard as being these unbeatable monster trainers and then the player character just come along at 10 years old and kick their teeth in.
if you look at it in a way too realistic way, yes they're supposed to be the pinnacle of all pokemon trainer (battles). representing, and all. the game isn't designed for the older ones among us, who know how to imply/predict strategy..
After the player beats the Pokémon league for the first time in black(2) and white(2),the levels of Pokémon for the E4 and the champion bounces up by over 20. Since the first Pokémon league challenge is in the mainline story, Alder's team should be at around levels 50s as well. P.S.:Unlike in Platinum, which you have to defeat Team Galactic and take down their plans on Stark Mountain once and for all before you can challenge the improved E4,the E4 and champ's Pokémon level in black (2) and white (2) increases right after you are in the post game.
they had in increase his levels to be 20 levels higher , otherwise by the time you got to him , your Pokémon would in the level 60-70 area , while his would be in the 50 area , it would make his fight too easy , so that’s why they bumped it up , alder when he fought n was probably around level 50 himself .
well....the challenge becomes 100x times easier if you use the "switch" option, that tells you if you wanna swap a pokemon for another, telling you what the enemy is gonna send out
I absolutely adore the first part of his battle theme. Unlike most other important character themes, that take a few seconds before getting intense, this one hits its high right away. I remember the first time I challenged Alder, that huge first note caught me off guard and made me a lot more excited to fight him. Very nostalgic for me.
Literally not a single member of my team was above level 70 when I fought Alder, and I won. For fuck’s sake, one of my Pokémon was level 58, and managed to tank a critical hit Stone Edge from his Bouffalant without even reaching red health.
I chose Tepig too in white! Using Emboar would've been too easy, so I also used Dragonite, Lucario, Kingdra, Magnezone, and Krookodile - that was my post-game team. My regular game team consisted of Emboar and Krookodile as well, plus Eelektross, Sigilyph, Haxorus, and Simipour.
It's okay. It paid off handsomely. And it was still easier than trying to put all training on Bagon so that I could learn Dragon Claw at Level 49 instead of Level 79.
@@anithasuresh2002 his starter was Volcarona. Idk he says something about this in Bw2 while still having Volcarona on his team. Could be a different one.
My favorite champion so far. Why? As Alder really resembles Jiraiya and gives that Jiraiya vibe as well, more like a mentor. In all of the champions, he tried to stop a mad guy with a legendary dragon Pokemon.
You couldn't face off against Alder the first time around since he was defeated by N. But now after defeating the elite four a second time, you'll finally have a chance against him. During the battle, he'll have Accelgor, Bouffalant, Druddigon, Vanilluxe, his ace Pokémon Volcarona, and Escavalier. If he's defeated just like many other Pokémon League champions, you'll make it to the hall of fame.
For a pokemon game, the story is legendary, and it's impressive how involved alder is. Alder is a man who really doesn't need to fight with pokemon, because he speaks volumes with his actions and words. His morals are on point and true, and he's great at leading people down an honest path. His biggest flaw is his team, which doesn't synchronize very well, and with pokemon like Darmanitan and Chandelure, a bug heavy team at post game is a clear mistake. I like him though, more for his character than his title
I just have one oddly insane question, why the fuck is Alder still the champion? Like you defeated N who defeated Alder so N is the Champion, so why is it that Alder is still the champion? Like, sure we need to "Fight Alder too because blah blah blah" c'mon can't they find another way. They found a way to throw Cynthia in Undella so why not find another way to fight him without him being the Champion, like sure it could be another excuse for E4 Round 2 but...
Haha, I wanted it to be a true 6-on-6 battle, so I had to double or even triple up on fire types. I remember my Black team post-Hall of Fame consisting of Rapidash, Dragonite, Samurott, Chandelure, Houndoom, and Golem. Then in White my post-Hall of Fame rotation was Crobat, Hitmonlee, Kingdra, Emboar, Salamence, and Rampardos.
cancer I doubt he's a bug type champion... I mean, Druddigon, Boufalent, Vanillite? Those nowhere resemble bug types... Also, then what type is Blue? Or even Cynthia? Or Diantha?
HollowChristmas426 Yeah so? Iris was supposed to be a dragon type master but she had archeops. Just because you have different pokemon in your squad, it doesn't mean that you're not mono.
@@swoobatcharge1764 Iris does literally nothing throughout B2W2, she contributes nothing to the story or plot. She may be a harder fight than Alder but that doesn't mean she's a good champion. She doesn't DO anything!
He's kinda forgettable, i guess. I mean he appeared in some parts of the game, but i'm telling you. Diantha is not only weak but she literally only appears once without any special introduction whatsoever or any participation to counter Team Flare, In conclusion Diantha is outright the weakest and the most forgettable one. In fact, she's actually the only champion who didn't do anything or interfere with the Evil Teams, maybe there's Blue, but he appeared in Silph Co.
No, Iris is one of the Most challenging ones, with a variety of Pokemon that counter their weaknesses very whale (Snap, ey!), and she has a various tactics to bring trainers to their knees
ernani carilo 1 year late, but... Alder was easier than Iris, in my open opinion. At least Iris had pokemon like Lapras and Aggron, who made it so Iris had more type advantages. While Alder, he's so easy with Emboar. Everything, beside Druddigon(Which is no mean a good Pokémon) is either weak, or weak to fire/fighting. Yes, Volcarona, but even Volcarona can easily be knocked out by Emboar.
