in 1998 pokemon was the sh***t. i was 1 of the blind persons to get the red version on the game boy. and what happened? my love for rpgs was growing and growing. i was always watching the anime because i used it as a guide. no game faqs, no self searching for walkthroughs or everything this goes also with gold and silver, ruby and sapphire and then? the game boy advance bowed down for the nintendo ds, and baaaam!!!! diamond and perl released. and so it was cool. untill x and y. on the 3ds then it was finally enough.
@Ghost Face That's around the release of Pokemon GO, which is what they mean. However if you don't believe this, that's because it wasn't as sustained and too short-lived as in comparison to the years 1999 and 2000 so it was not remembered that well, which is what the video says.
Was playing ultra moon yesterday and just catch my first shiny ever a green shiny blue bat with a big mouth. hope you do a video on top 10 Pokemon 3ds and ds games
Regardless of what some people think or how some of the games weren't that good, Pokèmon was a staple in video game history and I think it deserves to be in top 3 franchises of all time. Pokemon is suitable for everyone and it was different. If you wanted cute pokemon there's plenty. If you wanted cool looking pokemon there's also plenty. Dont have the games? Dont worry because there is a card game that is arguably just as successful as the games. Oh but that doesnt interest you? How about you watch the anime? Oh you dont like anime? Then you can play with these pokemon toys. See what I mean? Pokemon had ways for everybody to enjoy it. Especially if you were a collector type of a guy and liked catching them all or collecting the cards. Pokemon has such good replayability because it seems to never end. If you beat the 8 gym leaders and the elite 4, why not catch every pokemon? If you already did that why not do a beauty competition for your pokemon? Of you've already done that why dont you explore some new regions or challenge a boss even stronger than the elite 4? Pokèmon was and still definitely is a great thing and nothing will ever change that. Thank you game freak for making something so revolutionary for us.
Only the Pokémon craze in the late 90s was on a much bigger scale. I lived through it. It was literally everywhere, stores, fast food joints, gas stations, you name it. When you think about pop culture phenomenons of the late 90s, you could slap the word Pokémon or the name Stone Cold Steve Austin on any piece of merchandise and it was guaranteed that people would buy it. Just look at the success of the movie. Pokémon The First Movie cost just $5 million to make and raked in over $230 million between box office revenue and home video sales. Up to that point, an anime film topping the worldwide box office was unheard of.
