weird detail to notice 10 years later, but maxprotect and daveytwelve seem to be the same person on 2 accounts. You can even see if you pause around 4:08, daveytwelve ends a comment with "(cont)" and then accidentally uses his maxprotect account to finish the comment. Man I miss this community lmao
I don't know shit about competitive Pokemon battles but someone uploaded this onto Facebook and I clicked on it and it was entertaining as fuck, even though I had no idea what you were talking about most of the time. Glad you won, you also gained a subscriber.
This battle... This was the very battle that inspired me to start getting into competitive battling with all the tidbits of knowledge scattered all over throughout your commentary. Though, I'd probably never be able to pull myself out of a hole that deep being reduced to literally half of my party, with one of my major pokes being frozen, while half of my opponent's team hasn't even had a scratch yet and the other half is in good health. Ever, never done it before and probably never will. xD
Camiel Chan I do all that myself, heck, I even had to breed on commission in order to get my 6IV ditto (in exchange for a 5IV HA Riolu with Iron Defense, Crunch, Bullet Punch, and one other move that I forgot, it was difficult to do even with a 6IV male rapidash for the IVs but it well worth it). So yeah, I can breed no problem, the battling, I'm... not bad I suppose, my prediction's gotten rusty. XP
Miss Dark props lol. Breeding is such a pain for me, I really dont enjoy it, but thats mostly because I'm bad at it I suppose. Battling, I'm better at. Nowhere near tournament worthy, but I can sometimes give players a run for their money. If you want to up your prediction skills, you should play Pokemon Showdown. The simulator teaches you just as well as the real thing.
Watched the full thing. Dude. Shofu, Its obvious you are excellent at this game, but coming back from a 3 6 disadvantage with one your win conditions frozen is just the largest slap in the face to the challenger because it undeniably disproves the shit he was talking. You are the man!!!
After playing on pokemon showdown for months now, watching this battle again, it amazes me how much concentration you have. Those predictions at the end (especially those Jirachi/Gliscor vs Latias sequences) are just on point. When I'm on PS, I can predict relatively well, but towards the end of a long battle, it gets so tiring and taxing that I eventually end up making bad plays. Predictions are hard lol.
That was one awesome battle, Shofu. I've seen your X/Y videos, but they were nothing compared to this epic win. I'm gonna start putting in the extra work EV training my Pokemon from now on. Consider me a subscriber. Thumbs up, bro.
3 years after this was uploaded and it's still one of the sickest battles I've seen. I feel like this battle brought out, the god damn bet in you Shofu. This battle is in my opinion your best battle on the channel
Don't let those 'haters' talk you down shofu. You did the right thing and put your words into actions. Anyone can talk shit on internet, but it's another thing to actually put those 'shittalk' into real actions. I've learned alot by watching your video's. Even tho you were down to 3 to 6, you actually put in your skills. Awesome battle and awesome skills you had here.
4 years down the road and I still find myself coming back to this. One of the videos which made me go, "Hey lemme subscribe to this guy" ... Keep at it Shofu!
I love these heavy grudge matches, they're very telling about what people think is the truly best pokemon, rather than relying on surprise element. The pokemon they end up using tend to be very similar no matter who is playing, and that is very evident here.
Shofu Da Don! I didn’t know 11 years ago this man gave pokeaimd battle analysis videos. Watching him slowly dismantle this man was insane observation haki no joke.
Saw the whole video. In this video you can clearly see that prediction means so much in competitive battling. Kudos to you, Shofu, for some amazing predictions, which, despite some hax (on BOTH teams) clearly won you the game. You simply outsmarted him, that's it. Amazing.
I dont even know how I got to this video, nor did I understand anything you were talking about but had to watch the whole thing. Awesome win! good job! never knew that could be so entertaining
+funnyguy0476 However, your previous comment implies that you don't care at all about the fact that the person gave him a run for his money if I read it how you intended. However, both of these comments actually say that you care about the fact that the opponent did so, which you don't.
I watched the entire video and the whole time Im like "please win shofu please win". I never lost faith but I got a little nervous when it was 6-3. Very well played man
Gotta love how everyone in the comments overlooks how Maxprotect was in the lead for most of the battle. Props to Shofu for winning, of course, but this battle could have gone either way, as far as I'm concerned, max showed he was just as skillful as shofu, maybe not at predicting, but I digress
Max put up a fight against shofu longer than any other challenger to have lost against him. As far as Im concerned, Max probably would have won. Sure shofu is an experienced battler, but really its just his flock of subscriber bitches that piss me pff the most. Got to credit shofu for bringing it up against him though. At least he, unlike Max, can predict two turns ahead.
My man Shofu! I finally watched the famous Shofu vs. Maxprotect battle. I was going to PM you but I didn't want to bother you. After watching this video I think you might be a god. Good game standing up for yourself.
This is why I watch your battles. Usually I'm pretty impressed but THIS video blew me away. Like many others, I'm sure, watching these has inspired me to start competitive battling myself... Attempting to at least. Keep being awesome Shofu!
I WATCHED THIS WHOLE VID. Dude .. This battle was so intense.. I can't believe you actually pulled it off... But seriously i give you so much props for that win. It was epic!!!
I just watched the entire video ... for the third time. Never skipped a second of it. And I'm probably going to watch it again at some point in the future.
Lol, the PM after that was amusing. He obviously tried to reduce the humiliation there. People like to hide behind screens and talk nonsense, saying that they can beat who and who... Oh well... But this battle was amazing! You really made some good play and outstalled your opponent appropriately. Congrats!
