Great info as always. Just a suggestion, but it would be super helpful if you included the msrp in your statistics for clarity. Thanks for the continued great content!
This continues to be one of my favorite sets to rip. I always keep the etbs sealed but anytime I see celebrations other products on shelves I buy and just enjoy the rips!
Celebrations/Fusion strike is when I came into the hobby. I bought my first ETB (which was celebrations) then and never looked back. Pulled my Alt Art Gengar from that box!!!
I’m amazed the Metal Charizard isn’t going for higher. This Metal Charizrd is the first of its kind officially from Pokemon. On top of that, Charizard is arguably the most popular Pokemon and Base set Charizard is iconic. I see it doing big numbers years and years down the line. Those Celebration UPCs weren’t too available like these current ones.
I haven’t seen Celebrations in store in a very long time. It was always hard to get in my area. The UPC was being sold at scalper prices at all of the LCS around here too.
I get a lot of value from your videos, all the way from investing to just pure pack opening! You're a big part of the Pokémon community, imo. Thanks Danny!
Love Celebrations!❤ Danny, could you also please make a new video on the single prices from Celebrations? Mabey next year? Mabey we will see some growth in those singles soon.
My daughter enters into an art contest the last two years and has won. Her art gets put into a calendar and gets put out for the whole county and she has won 500 dollars for her school. So ya we definitely use calendars in my house and try to give them to anyone that wants one
I'm still finding 1-3 Dark Sylveon boxes here and there at Walmarts. Easy pick up for $20 when it has 4 Celebrations, 1 evolving skies and one fusion strike.
I waited in a line at my local game store on the release day of the UPC for about an hour before they opened. When they did open, they told all of us waiting that they already sold their UPCs to two people who lined up at the store three hours before opening.
I missed out on the upc. However, i was able to pick plenty of the zard/sylv boxes from Walmart. It's definitely a lot of fun to open, even at 4 cards a pack.
I seriously mean what I said. I love your tips. Took your advice at end of 2021 about evolving skies. Bought a case of booster boxes for basically what 1 box sells for now. Still have the case sealed 😊. Thanks for the tips
I think it is so awesome. You’re giving people the opportunity to get vintage sealed packs. A piece of Pokémon history, and for a lot of us, brings back some serious childhood memories.
Yeah, I scooped up 1 pack of each artwork of the XY Evos on sale on TikTok, grabbed one extra just to rip and was definitely fun to open card art that I remember ripping back in the day. A fun set for sure.
The new thumbnail look is pretty cool! Not as good looking as the real Phanny but that's okay. It works. Haha! Love Celebrations! It's the only set I've mastered and I had a ton of fun opening it. I went pretty hard on ETBs and the Amazon Prime bundles. The exclusive jumbos that came with the Amazon Prime bundles are VERY cool, if you're into that sorta thing.
I hold lots of sealed products because I enjoy having them. And have no problem holding for 10+ years. Once we hit 2030, that's when I'm going to start really caring about the market price of these. Because that's when I need to start thinking about moving them.
I have 85% of every Japanese pokemon card printed between 1995 and 2016. Would these be worth something in the future or is it better to just put that collection up for auction now?
Man celebrations is so cool. I came in after that set unfortunately but have managed to find A LOT of zard and sylveon boxes throughout the year. Have some singles yet for my master set but I have the Zard and 3 gold shiny mews 😊
No matter how good the fundamental is, the amount that was printed will destroy the value in the long run. The supply looks like dwindling but it just stops circulating because now everyone has everything in their closet in a ridiculous amount. It's just a matter of time until the prices artificially go up high enough and everyone starts selling. Modern sets are only for collection.
i missed out on the ultra premium, they were so hard to get, saying that i remember having so much fun opening the packs. One of the few sets i finished collecting apart from the metal cards, lovely set and a good way to get the classic zard. Great vid, very informative as always
I didn’t love Celebrations tbh. Not surprised it's not performing well. 151 being so great will probably hurt this one in the long run. It's a better nostalgia set.
In Scotland people are selling them for £9 - 10 per pack. That's $12 per pack. And at 4 cards in a pack you can expect to have a ridiculous amount of doublers if your chasing well, anything! Sorry but there's only so many holo ho-oh's and flying pikachu's I can tolerate. 😅😬
We opened a celebration box and were a bit disapointed by the pulls, golden cards were nice to get. I missed info on the golden anniversary box in your video, we wonder if it's worth to collect or open a golden 25th anniversary box. How are prices going for these? And how about the japanese products of the 25th anniversary? They are much more expensive than the english version...but is it worth it?😮 Liked your video Danny! Thx again ❤
don't mean to call you out but you actually forgot one of the tins ❤..the last tin you showed I believe two came out one wider than the other but awsome video. I believe celebration is underrated due to the amount of products available but with time maybe hold a decent value
Love Celebrations, one of my favorite sets. I can’t order on the Pokémon Center website, so couldn’t get my hands on that version of the ETB. And since the release of the Celebrations set kind of triggered me to get back in collecting Pokémon (as soon as possible), I also missed the UPC pre-order period. Still don’t have one, one day I hopefully will! Useful video!
I still can't believe the standard ETBs are 2x MSRP so quickly just given how much was printed. I picked up plenty over time but also left a ton on the shelves at my local Wal-Marts and Targets.
As someone who's heavily invested in this set, I love that sealed product is still attainable. I was fortunate enough to pay msrp for most of mine, but I still get tempted to buy more because like Evolutions, as SOON as there is any relative scarcity on reprint sets with vintage WOTC arts, particularly for an anniversary set, the sealed product will go from stagnant to like a 250% price increase in a couple months.
