A very solid ending pulled this one back hard. Two bad splits in this run, Roark and Fantina. Not because of those fights, but just the bs leading into them (both slaves broke out of balls, hit 2 spinners before Fantina). Most everything else was good. This is a nice time without being fantastic, but I now have all the records in Gen 4. It'll probably be the last time I can say that, but I'm happy, since Gen 4 are the best and most interesting speedgames imo. I might come back to this if it gets beaten, but probably not for a while.

2:53:10 - Just a flawless Dialga fight, I think you played it almost perfectly but there were still a few small things you could have done to make it quicker. I was biting my fingers the whole way through it! Good job!!

I‘m kinda sad that you won’t continue running Diamond for now. You had so many good runs killed by randomness (I specifically remember one where you were almost 2 minutes ahead, then die to a thrash Crit from Gyarados, because of how far ahead you were, you wanted to walk back after whiting out, forgot taking a Pokemon out of your Party and running into a double battle). Kinda sad to see the double Ball-Fail be the one to make it through. I really hope to see you back in this category soon.

Pretty useless since every encounter will always be the same if he manages to keep the RNG aligned. So you'll never see a shiny in a gen 4 speedrun.

I’ve never seen Werster sweat, but it felt like he was sweating this run from Spear Pillar to the end. Can’t say I blame him, I mean 11 seconds is close. Congrats on the record, even though I’m late. You should try solidifying this one though because there are a lot of little improvements you can make to beat your WR by potentially another minute

I got diamond near when I came out. I beat it at 400+hours because i pressed A too fast and couldnt find Wally to go to the lakes and continue. It wasn't until years later I finally picked up the game and found him beating the game after years

First of all: Thank you for speedrunning my favourite game of my childhood :) I really like it and I still play it on an emulator on my pc xD I am kinda new to speedrunning, so I have a question: How did you skip the encounters at 6:40? You just ran through the grass and there was no pokemon? Has it something to do with that thing you did at the starg, where you were crossing thr borders between twinleaf amd the route?

I am pretty sure he skips the encounters through rng manipulation which depends on the frame that you are on, so he runs between those to advance the rng to where he doesnt get encounters
