Oh Turnback Cave is quite common in the void Also I see Turnback Cave as either hope or despair Cause if I’m stuck in the void after messing up a step, I can run around and try to find a place where I can escape. If I find Turnback Cave and I have an Escape Rope/Dig being useable I can escape, but if I don’t Turnback Cave just kind of feels like the game is taunting me. If I can’t Escape Rope/Dig then I have to look for a Route so I can Teleport And Routes are really rare to come across in the void

Same here! I've been getting back into Pokemon lately and a lot of videos mention how Arceus was never obtainable legitimately in-game and distinctly remember doing the whole event and playing the flute without an AR, but I guess I just did the tweaking glitch and didn't remember until now! Glitches like these contributed to the "middle school legend" feel of the games. Getting some of these Pokemon, while not in their intentional ways, somehow felt legitimate because of the mysteries surrounding obtaining the Pokemon.
Y’all make me feel old. I remember doing a ton of glitches on Red and Yellow, like the Mew and Misingno glitched. I also definitely remember the Duplication glitch from Emerald.
Lol, the Void is super easy to access so no, not an ultra wormhole. I activated it in NEW BARK TOWN in Heart Gold when doing a randomizer, without even knowing I could activate it there
but the gen4 dex doesnt have most of their legendaries listed, only the three lake faries, dialga, palkia and manaphy are required. Even the extended gen4 dex of platinum only adds giratina with a bunch of gen4 legendaries and even some normal gen4 pokemon still not in the dex.
Trade all your good Pokémon to another Gen 4 game before doing this. My friend traded me his entire PC box and didn’t regret it, he only took 1 level 100 staraptor with him and everything else he gave to me, he was lost in the void during the glitch. RIP staraptor. May you never be forgotten
That moment when you want to try this but get distracted easily so it's risky af and your diamond copy only has like 4 badges *pulls out emulator and online save* that's more like it
I think that it's kind of cool that each of the first several generations have a way of glitching mythicals. Gen 1 and 2 - Exploiting the code that is held together with scotch tape to generate Pokemon Gen 3 - Pomeg berry glitch Gen 4 - Tweaking Gen 5 - The DNS exploit, which is infinitely easier in this than in the previous Now we wait until someone does the same for Gen 6.
Who else wants to get the game just to do the glitch? Think about the usefulness of the glitch. You could beat the game faster or earlier than intended, get the legendaries faster, and so much more.
By "can/can't be transfered through Pokémon Bank" you mean trading them to 5th Gen, then using Pokémon Bank, right? So transfering them to 5th Gen is possible?
Sittyboy123 Since it is accessed in the game by going to legitimate area of the game (through unintended means, however) when caught, the game can't exactly tell the Pokemon was illegitimately acquired. Especially once traded to Gen 5. Code-wise... It's a legitimate Pokemon through and through.
@@macenanoro826 But the events were only released for certain games- and code is code and can be buggy sometimes. Sometimes a Pokémon just won't transfer.
Great video, and very nice of you to shoutout aera! He also posted it in the Hoo discord :) if you ever want to do an update on other major glitches in gen 4 then hall of origin is the place to be. A lot of information we know of never left our discord
If you go into the void and the game freezes and makes a loud beeping sound that means you haven't gone into your explorer kit yet. Use the explorer kit and go underground and it won't happen again.
I tried the void years ago to get Darkrai, I could only get the type where the void loads but you can't enter. It sucks that after the event you can't get the rest of the pokedex filled out. Pearl was almost 100% completed for me, all I needed was the event Pokemon.
@ContraChaos check a tutorial dude... you can get all the events from the 4th and 5th gen if you change the DNS of your wifi conection, its pretty easy tbh
I softlocked my diamond save by trying to get darkrai. I did the tweaking but I saved and reloaded in the wrong place, putting me a couple blocks into the mountain on the island that you find darkrai.
Note: 1. If you ever try this with platinum, you will be stuck in an invisible wall. If you use cheats to get to darkrai, you are just wasting your time. You will not find him. (came from a person who tried the glitch. RIP save file.) 2. Using the walk through walls cheat, you can see shaymin in the wall before you clip through shaymin's garden. You can't interact with it, so you can't battle it.
It does work but only in some copies of the game. I was able to enter it but I didn't go the entire way cause I didn't want to risk my file. But in the Japanese version it works in the first elite 4 room using surf

Why isn't nobody talking about how the majority of Japanese people accessed into the glitch that allowed them to obtain both transferable Sheimi and Darkrai through TM Surf ?
Great way to get darkrai, but if you get stuck, can you hm fly out of the blackness? Then why shaymin didn't transfer, did they flag that pokemon or its event wasn't released originally?

Is here anyone able to tell me if there is a chance that getting lost in this void will kill my game irreversible? I mean is it possible to just reset my safe file if I got lost or will the new file also be broken
I've found success through using a save exporter (I.e JKSM) to keep back ups of my save file before reforming the glitch, others could possibly use it but note that a save exporter is only accessible through homebrew or similar cheating methods and you'd need quite a bit of trail and error to get it working. Homebrew also has the chance to brick your DS if you done have enough storage, and I've found that using a 6 GB SD card works just fine but I'm soon upgrading to 12 GB just for safety purpouses.
If you get lost in the void you can find a cave like turn back cave and and use an escape rope I have gotten lost in the void before and this helped me get out
So even if you use fly it locks you out? You would think it would unload the area your game thinks you're in and load the area you want to go but even that doesn't work?
I played platinum in 2009, i also have diamond now. I never got the pokemon i found the abolute coolest: darkrai. Now replaying it for nostalgia I will do everything to get this thing
I didn't learn my lesson from last time after getting stuck in a "mystery zone" and unable to open my menu. That's because I learned that Homebrew existed, acting as a save state system and allowing me to revert to any past save. That is, assuming that I backed up that save.
nintendo would never do that, plus thankfully the darkrai/ shaymin events were easily accessible by anyone with the game so i dont see a reason why that would be needed aside from people who got the game after the distributions
I never considered it cheating in diamond and pearl getting Darkrai and Shaymin because that was the only way for a little kid like me back then to get one. Technology was so different back then. Hardly anyone I knew in my small country town had wi fi to begin with until years later so thank you action replay.
If anybody could help that would be great. Whenever I do the fast glitch it makes the bottom of jubilife go black and I can’t enter it. I have tried on a pearl game and a diamond game and get the same result. PLEASE HELP

I remember tweaking Darkrai and Shamin back in the day when it still took ages and ppl thought Arceus to be unobtainable. Had a good time glitching around with that stuff especially since i wasnt really familiar with glitches in games back then. D/P always make me a bit nostalgic even if it isnt hasnt been that long compared to gen 1. Nice video
I wanna do this so bad because actually I missed the darkrai event on platinum and I need darkrai to finish my pokedex. Only thing is I'm completing the pokedex on diamond and with about 430 pokemon already owned there's no way I'm taking a chance to ruin my save file. I might just have to see if I can buy pearl or another diamond
I'm kind of scared of doing this glitch because of the warning that you gave on one of the questions I had but was quickly answered in the clip of you doing the glitch was if I save in the void go out of my game I go back into the game would I still be in the void and was answered with a yes by the clip
You need to be somewhere you can teleport in the game normally, so if the map header says Jubilife (well, anything) for example, you can’t teleport. In my experience I’ve only been able to teleport on routes
I wish i could do these glitches but my timing to get the void glitch is so fast and it quite hard to do it on the nds dpad. I also own pearl and platinum so expectations may be mixed. But trying and trying will at least do something.
5:40 i think this is the same glitch once i open the person save once i gotton platinum. In mt coronet. But . . . it dosent work in platinum. . . . how
Nice bro, just watching to remember how it was, because I couldn't ever do the glitch. Just wondering, it coul be done in any copy of the game? Or only in the Japanese early copies of the game?
Fun side note. I used a normal Action Replay and caught Shaymin after hacking in the event items. The Shaymin has jumped up a few gens. I have not yet tried to put in in Pokemon Bank. My point is no hack check stopped it from getting into gen 6. I will be trying to send it to gen 7 soon.
cartergamegeek you could try changing your system time to match whatever the event came out and then might trick the bank until I actually allowing it to go in since the checks sometimes the time it was caught
@@Leto85 You can catch shaymin too, along with Arceus. The problem is transferring them to Pokémon bank. This glitch can even let you beat the game without battling the elite 4.
