Very weird situation. I don’t think that holes in the pack are indicators of it being resealed, but the other things are definitely suspicious. I agree with your assessment that a card should never have holo scratching straight from the pack. The odds of that happening are far lower than the odds of it being resealed. I’d say it was just resealed by someone who was smart down to the finest detail. I wish it wasn’t so difficult to tell for sure.
Going big for this one! I actually recently got a holo sneak attack in psa8 1sted. What a coincidence that you pulled it. Makes me happy when you pulll something exciting/worth pulling. I do think it was resealed but i dont think that they are fake. I of course would like to see more vintage pack openings. I just hope that you be careful with your funds, they can be pretty pricy!!! Weirdddd - I was definitely thinking resealed by the top where you were pointing out. But weird they actually included base cards and a HOLO?!? Thank you for sharing so we can all keep an eye out
Yea man that was definitely resealed! Same thing happened to me on a team rocket pack off mercari. Also on 3 supposedly mint mewtwos I bought off there. Definitely learned my lesson!
*Real or fake, it was still an awesome pull* ! In my personal opoképinion, there is definitely the possibility it was resealed. If you take into consideration the actual cost of THAT holo specifically (even with the recent explosive inflation) VS. the value of selling the pack itself, it is POSSIBLE (again, just speculation) that the *seller* may have opened it, looked for some orange fire breathing lizard value, pulled this Hitmochan and then figured it would be less suspicious if it had this (although EPIC) low value holo, knowing he could easily sell it for more than it's technically worth. Especially if he was confident he could seal it again. Even with as many *legendary type* epic trainers there are out here, there are all kinds of Pokéscum out there in this Pokéverse unfortunately. I've dealt with a poképlethora of em' all and it often hides behind a friendly smile Brolem. Just gotta be thorough, be real with people, ask detailed questions from sellers and (although unfortunate to think) sometimes, turn down what might *seem* like a good deal if you feel certain things are in question, *especially online*. WITH ALL THAT NONSENSE SAID, there are *SO MANY* reputable and awesome sellers out there, true kind and transparent people and sometimes things (on the flip side) that might *appear* questionable, aren't! You are brave my good sir for opening that Base set booster pack. While not the craziest pull at least you can say you pulled it. I don't know if the guy pulled it first and resealed. If so that is shameful ☹
20 years and the cards still slide side to side, the scratches coulda been caused from the card above it rubbing, if you were getting scammed there would be no base cards and def no holo !
