The Battleships Race is based around the game "Battleships" where each player places 5 Ships (2 long, 3 long [two of these ships], 4 long & 5 long) on a Pokedex Grid in a horizontal/vertical line. Everytime a Pokemon is caught, the other player has to say if it Hit, Miss or Sunk their Ship. Whoever is first to sink all of the other's Ships wins the Race!

I love the tetris pieces idea. Adds in a little more strategy to this! Keep the randomizers coming I love them!

The way most Chris vs Shen races go..... Shen races through plot while Chris catches loads. Shen gets a big lead on distance but Chris gets a big lead on Pokemon caught. Then about half way through Johto, Chris thinks he is behind and stops catching and races to catch up on plot. Shen finishes the plot and starts catching ahead of Chris but way behind on Pokemon caught. Chris finishes the plot and starts catching just as Shen catches up on Pokemon caught making it pretty even. EVERY RACE!!! haha

they occasionally trade roles, but otherwise it's a pretty funny pattern

I would like to point out that multi-part questions are allowed in "Guess Who?" as long as they are yes/no questions. "Are you wearing glasses, have a big nose, or have a small mouth?" is a perfectly legitimate question in that game, and figuring out the right combinations to ask about is part of the strategy of the game.

The best strategy in guess who is to ask ambiguous questions like 'does your person look happy?' and then watch how they respond.

@@androsp9105 That requires knowledge of the person you are playing against to accurately figure out what their reactions mean. Plus it can also require visual cues. Asking questions like in my original example allows you to consistently narrow down the group by a good margin (roughly half) with every question. Idea for a race. Killer Pokemon. You each pick 10 random Pokemon and the winner is first to find all 10 of the others Pokemon.

For Guess Who it's actually pretty fair. Like half of the people think it's better to ask a 50/50 question like, is it a boy or a girl? or in pokemon: does it share a type with tentacool? But the other half of the people think it's better to ask something more specific like: does your character wear glasses? thinking after they say YES they will be left with only 6 people, but they say NO and you're left with 26 people still, so you got basically no info. The game balances itself with the high risk - high reward strat vs the safe steady progress strat. Is your pokemon blue? sounds like a pretty standard question but it's actually a risky one, because you eliminate almost everyone or almost noone of the board depending on the answer. The tentacool one is a better question beause it's closer to 50/50 so it makes a safer strategy, it's not OP at all.

If anyone was wondering. The video is 45.5% of the way through when it was mentioned that Chris has 14/28. Also, "guess who" race would be fantastic. I feel like just picking a pokemon at the start of the race would be fine though instead of forcing a catch. With Kanto and Johto gyms plus elite four gaurantees many questions as well.

Is there a reason they don't work towards mt silver once they are trainer grinding? There are tons of trainers on the way plus a pretty decent amount of chances for wild encounters.

The people in Guess Who don't have types or moves or anything like that, you only ask about physical characteristics. If you do decide to do a version of it on your stream, restricting questions to be about physical characteristics would probably be best: that is to say, "Does it have horns" or "Is it [this color]" sort of things, rather than about typing, attacks, stats, number of evolutions, etc.

Ben Zed honestly my go to pizza (talking about chain restaurants) is mountain mikes. Other than that there’s a family owned pizza shop in my city that is absolutely amazing 😉
