Everyone sleeping on Matt because he was between Shizzy and CTC, but this dude by far had the most improved verse (also shoutout to the line about the 2013 cypher)

In all seriousness, I don't understand how (with like 1 exception) that people can say that 2013 is better Shofu's verse in comparison to 2013 was much more clever, flow was better (but tbfh, the beats he was on was a lot better this time around) and just felt more hype. The start of his verse got you hyped as fuck for the rest of the cypher. Archer was alright, but it didn't get me hyped like shofu did for this cypher in comparison. Scoot honestly gets better each time I listen to him, ("rollout niggas getting better with time") I will say his verse in 2013 isn't too far behind. Also Shofu/Scoot's verse together is amazing, brings you back to the first cypher they did. Joey, this dude is like the little brother of the pokemon cypher when it comes to rapping. I can tell by reading the comments no one caught the majority of the references he made to his channel, damn shame really. Haydunn was honestly the only one I thought that did better in 2013. Lines were more clever, flow was on point, visuals were a nice touch. I felt like 2013 drew out his personality more. 2016 is good, but not as clever as it was in 2013. The consensus with Beatdown is that he got much better since 2013 which is accurate as hell. Everything about his verse lets you know hes been working hard to improve. I want him in more Pokemon Raps in general though, not just in the cyphers. TrickyWi was honestly placed perfectly in the cypher, I can't describe it, but its a perfect balance between chill and hype. Like a bit of a cooldown after Beatdown's hype ass verse. This shit was flames, I hope she does more raps outside of the cypher either by herself or with shofu idk. RogersBase was fantastic, I honestly want to see him and G. Yee do a couple of songs together, I feel like they would make a great combination. G. Yee always amazes with his punchlines. If you aren't subbed to his channel you can stop reading this comment now and go sub asap. ShueTube, Godamn, clean ass verse. Swear I should have heard of him by now. Better late than never. CTC is awesome. I don't know how to describe him, hes like The Joker of pokemon raps. The Alolan Shofu indeed. Matt impresses the hell out of me. I want him to make it as a producer so bad its unreal. I don't understand how people can hate on his 2013 verse, it was clever as fuck. 2016 was even better, honestly my favorite verse. This man has nothing but Talent, I hope he makes it. Shizzy never fails. I am glad he's getting bigger and bigger. I was dead ass worried that he wouldnt rap in this cypher. All that said lets compare to the 2013 cypher Archer was alright, but I didn't look forward to his verse, it was just something to listen to. Shofu at the beginning of this cypher was much better in every way imaginable. Beatdown got better no questions asked. I honestly didn't like Token's verse at all, HD the one didn't really impress me mainly because G. Yee's Punchlines and flow are a million times better in comparison. Shizzy's verse was good but 2016 was much better. Haydunn's was the only one I can say I liked better in 2013. Matt got better, had me hyped ever since fire type. I guess Jwittz was good but honestly I liked Shuetube and him equally for different reasons. All this being said, I don't think cypher 2013 was bad, it was better than 2012, but better beats and the people rapping were better in this. Everything flowed together nicely. Nobody really felt out of place. This video just shows the epitome of squad goals. I really can't honestly say that cypher 2013 was better. It was good for its time, but you have to be doing some summer olympics mental gymnastics in order to say that imo.

Beatdown to me was the greatest comeback. He went straight up flames on that Ho-Oh's instrumental. GOD DAMN! Very powerful, energetic and agressive. Love it!! Shizzy has that Elijah Brook style and always was a huge fan of his voice, to me he has the best voice for rappin'. Although, CTC just like Randorosu, has that Force like Obi-Wan!! Not only does it say that Matt Houston's verse is fire (which it is), but it's also a Pokemon reference in itself. In the Pokemon Adventures manga (Yellow chapter), there is a scene when quite literally a kid is lowkey training with Blaine. Blaine is in disguise (wig, no glasses, no mustache) and a boy is training with him.
