I feel like the lack of audio and visual queue is a balance to the fact that so many Pokemon are constantly on screen. This way you still have to go up and check them, which is essentially encountering it like the old games. Finding shinies in this game has been a lot more fun that Legends Arceus where it would sparkle before you even saw it.

If you want to catch a shiny or a pokemon you really want to use scyther or any pokemon that has false swipe.False swipe lowers the pokemons health but won't make them faint.
i found an shiny hoppip at the start of my adventure! in my lifetime of playing pokémon (which is over 10 years), that's i think one of 5 shiny pokémon i encountered and one of 3 shiny pokémon i catched :')
The first shiny i saw and caught in scarlet was a murkrow but this was just random, i wasn’t even shiny hunting. If you ever see your pokemon not auto battling a pokemon, most likely it’s a shiny so pay close attention lol.

3 magnemite outbreaks this week, farmed and respawned about 4 hours each time, and not a single shiny appeared. I have yet to see a single shiny at all in Scarlett.

I've been thinking the base rate's been boosted even further than advertised, because just yesterday within two hours I found two shiny Lechonks. I still haven't even entered the school yet. I've had some crazy shiny luck in the past, but this is crazy even compared to that.
My girlfriend only has 1 gym badge and got lucky with two within two days. She managed to find a shiny scatterbug within 5 minutes of the start of the game. She flexed me so hard

Its adorable and the perfect balance of detailed and simple. Its shiny is all the more rewarding with its blue changed to a really cute pink/purple.) -Sylveon (Easy, its pink changes to blue. Its adorable.) -Umbreon (All on this list have been cliché and popular, but shiny umbreon is sick. And you cant lie.) -Eevee (I know. Its only been eeveelutions +eevee and gyrados, but dont you agree? The eeveelutions are amazing themselves but some of their shinies stick out in an amazing way.) Fun Fact: I just got the shiny charm!❤❤
Try to get outbreaks near towns so you can simply go in and out of the town to respawn. Also, some outbreaks have "sweet spots" where you can optimize seeing a number of spawn spots after ending your respawn picnic. Sandwiches, even the best ones, do not guarantee a shiny, so make sure to save your game just before you make a sandwich. Sandwich power will disappear if you try to change the system clock, and will only last 30 minutes real world time, so be careful! Best of luck out there!
I have a question do defeating the Pokémon have to be chained? Like if I accidentally kill a random Pokémon after 50 chains do I need to restart the process?
Yes.but in my experience you can save while chaining and restart if u accidentally do that and it will retain your chain.. I did that for my shiny wooper and drakloak.
been doing masuda for a shiny charmander and i think im probably around 300 eggs so far and no luck ive been grinding through eggs like craaazy lately, ive also got the shiny charm i found a shiny deino by accident and i found a shiny froslass from an outbreak, im so happy! lol
No. you can do your quests or level up your pokemon then come back later. the only thing that matters is the event itself. so as long as you dont defeat too many of them to end the outbreak it will be fine.
So me and my friend are a bit confused about shiny buff's so do the food/charm shiny buffs work on all wild pokemon or only on outbreak pokemon? and when stacking that 60 kill streak in an outbreak do you have that buff forever when hunting that mon type in outbreaks or if you get the same outbreak again is it refreshed and you gotta stack that 60 kill streak again?
I caught a shiny psyduck too, within an hour of playing. Left the game on idle while away thinking it would pause but it doesn't so technically 3 hours in lol
I really like shinies that has more than just one color. I dont like a shiny with just same color all around it. Like a shiny Staryu and Starmie has more color to it. And I love its shiny coz of it.

You can save after you kill 60 in an outbreak and if you reset you will still continue with increased shiny odds? So in case the outbreak dissapear i can close the game and reset
Hell, even using a sparkling power 1 sandwich helps in an outbreak. Paired with the shiny charm, you pretty much can guarantee a spawn within 30minutes.
Well I guess I was lucky. I wandered the start zone and found a shiny spider. I saw the red ball hanging on the tree and was like wait.. the others are white. Did I find a shiny?! And yes I did.
great video... except you forgot one thing.. shiny charm usually stacks woth mesuda method so if i am not mistaken that takes the odds to 1 in 445 on a shiny , i however am not sure if that works in this game too, and whether or not the sparkeling boost from aandwich will lower it too, is so, i inmagine it to be 1 in 386 or so
Got two shinies today made a regular lvl 1 power electric sandwich for mareep and a shiny fletching showed up I took a other lap and then there was my shiny mareep
I literally caught 3 shinies at the start of the game. (Scatterbug, Psyduck and Azurill) I was and am still in shock. I think I used up my life‘s luck now. + Scatterbug and Psyduck were like 5 minutes apart I think until now, I never got a shiny while playing the story.
For the 60+ KOs, does this modifier reset ever? Or is it such that once you have KOd that many of that species, you get the reroll forever going forward?
It does have a decent amount of bugs, but the game also just came out 2 days ago, it will get patched like every other game, along with updates to please The other complaints they’re getting
Omg thx so much for this info I really needed it. And also apparently if you have a Pokémon from a different language as well as another Pokémon from the same egg group then if you make them breed, the chances of it being a shiny drop to around 2000
the language trick is called the masuda method, coded in by jenuchi masuda in i believe gen 4. the egg group has no effect on shiny odds, just that if you try to breed pokemon from different groups, they wont me eggs at all

When I defeat 60 pokemon in the outbreaks, it has to be the same species? If im defeating Mewtwos and I defeat a Rayquaza accidentally does the chain break?

@@captain_britain Super curious on this as well. What resets my chain? Does flying to another location? Getting in a battle? Anytime I hit a loading screen? Something has to reset it otherwise we'd be running a chain non-stop.
My favorite shiny is Trulatula and I did find one but I didn't put everstone on it in time then it evolved I was sad because I don't like the evolved shiny but I did find one of my other favorite shinys fortress but it used self destruct and I also had a shiny golduck I almost missed it had an ability that disabled self destruct and it was in my party but I wasn't using it as my first pokemon in my party :( my first shiny pokemon was Ratatata or however you spell it I've only seen four shinys on my life but only caught three of them :(
Found my first ever shiny today, Garaganacl in area zero during my playthrough, it exploded and dropped 'nacl salt' to rub the wound in. just wanted to vent somewhere😤😤
The only problem with shiny farming wild pokemon is if you actually want to use them its nearly impossible to get a 5 or 6 IV shiny this way, where with egg farming your shiny can much more easily be a 5 or 6 IV with the desiered nature. Maybe im min/maxing too much but if I am going to put in the effort for an all shiny team I want them to be good enough to show off without getting stomped.
Already got 2 full odds shinies back 2 back with some farming in an area. Saw a gold magicarp and caught it, and when running back i saw a black little sandcastle 🥰. Potentially missed a pink dolphin/pink qwilifish because insaw it swimming in the distance but didnt have boat mode unlocked yet.
I have 1 shiny pokemon and honestly I got lucky with that one, it was ghostly and since it was night time. Regular and shiney Gastly looks the same to me. I would have gotten a lil lion shiny but I accidentally knock it out😭😭😭 That one was my first shiny found than Gastly
In sword and shield (and maybe every other game but idk) when you get an egg, the poke inside is already determined so you can't save and reset one egg to get a shiny or perfect IVs etc. Is it the same in scarlet and violet does anyone know?
This is true. If you save before you get any eggs, breed, then hatch they will be different every time. If you hatch all the eggs and dont get a shiny, you can just reset your game to before you got any eggs so you dont waste time releasing and sandwich ingredients.
