Pokemon Theory: Is Ash a Clone? 

Remember in the first movie when Ash went to the cloning room to save Pikachu and sort of went into the cloning machine. Maybe instead the the machine not registering Ash it actually cloned him later on. The Ash clone might have taken the Pikachu clone and went on adventures in some regions while the real Ash and Pikachu went and adventures in other regions. Mind blown (O_O)

I think it's quite possible that Ash is a clone of red because they're really similar but I think that Red's father was Giovanni and when Red died Giovanni cloned Red and the clone became known as Ash who had exactly the same traits as Red but looked slightly different due to mutations taking place which also might prove why Ash is immune to electricity and why is appearance is different to Red's but his style is similar. Or another theory could be that Ash is Red's son and Giovanni is Ash's grandfather.

If Giovanni could make genetic improvements to the cloned Ash, you'd think that Ash would have a double digit IQ.

It's time for a brand new Pokemon Theory! This time, I decided to do one of the more outlandish and crazy theories, but I still think there's some entertainment to be found in covering something so ridiculous :D Hopefully most of the people who watch the video see this comment, but I've got to apologize for how some parts of the video might seem a little bit rushed or skipped over. While writing the script/editing the video, I wanted to go over the theory pretty generally and try to fit all of the info I could into the video in under 15 minutes. Unfortunately, in doing that I feel like I might have made the video seem too fast at times, and skipped over some of the more important facts and theories (Like why exactly it isn't likely that Ash would have been cloned from Red). Hopefully it's not too bad though :/ (It might be my least favorite theory video i've made, but we'll see how I feel looking back on it though, I guess). A quick shout out to Anime Andrew for the inspiration for the theory! If you're reading this, Anime Andrew, then you should post your theory! It was a pretty neat read, and even though I didn't take too much from it in the video, I feel like it's different enough from my info that it would be cool to post it in the comments!

I'm about to debunk and put an end to the Ash-Coma theory with one single fact: You cannot dream while you're in a coma.

What if instead of Giovanni being Ash's father Ash's father was Red. I mean Ash's father is missing, Red has disappeared and is on top of Mount Silver in Johto. Ash's mom said in episode two of the original anime about how it took some time for Ash's father to get to Viridian City. Red was busy in the forest catching pokemon to complete the pokedex which is already completed in the anime. Ash' mother did say that Ash's father was a great trainer and im pretty sure Oak mentions Ash's father at least once to. Because Red won the league and completed the Pokedex for Oak.

And could explain why he didn't recognise serena 😱😱😱😱😱😨😨😱😱😱😱

My theory? Ash is a Joy... Or rather, Mrs. Ketchum actually has (like) fifteen identical sons named Ash (Like there are identical Joys, Jennys, Don George to name a few), and at the start of every region, one Ash drops out, and another Ash cycles in. There's a bet between the siblings, whoever manages to be come Pokemon Champion gets to be the "Real Ash." And they carry on like they're the same Ash just to mess with people. And that explains why Ash seems to reset back to "Stupid" at the start of every region. He "knows" all the stuff his identical siblings have told him, but he's never experienced it himself, so he still makes rookie mistakes at the start of a new journey.

What if Ash is reliving his memories, maybe he is telling his his kid, grandkids ,ect. I don't know maybe just thinking.

Ash does have some kind of super strength being able to jump as high as he can in dangerous situations and picking up heavy pokemon with ease, and living through electrical shocks that is proven to kill a real person in real life. XD

All clones that deteriorate are Dittos. Done deal.

Does that mean that meowth and Jessie and James are clones that Giovanni created because in every episode they get wrecked by Pokemon and pikachu and they never die.......

Misty was burned by vulpix and was just fine. So the "superior strength" thing falls through there for me. Also, who's to say that Ash ISN'T getting older? Just because he seems to be 10 forever in the English dub, doesn't mean that he isn't ageing normally in the Japanese dub and that the whole thing is just lost in translation due to his never seeming to change physically. Perhaps the folks dubbing it just thought that no one would pay much attention and that the "10 year old" Ash would just appeal more to young children. If they were to say "14 year old Ash Ketchum starts his new jouney in a new region" does anyone really believe that he would then appeal as well to their target audience? And Giovanni being his dad? Just doesn't seem to hold up to me. Perhaps his father passed away, but being a show geared towards children, those dubbing the show thought to leave that out so they could avoid explaining the concept of death to kids. And maybe his folks just split. It happens. But again, they may have that it better to leave such a thing out to better avoid having to explain to children why mommy and daddy couldn't get along. But it's just another prime example of the things that are lost in translation, I guess.

Or its just ash being a good son and visits his mom every year since he's literally 24/7 on a journey??

easy fix to this: he was cloned to be one of the greatest Pokemon HANDLERS of all time: cloned from Sir Aaron explains his natural ability to empathize w/pokemon, explains why he's ok w/letting his closest pokemon wander at all times. His natural affinity for aura was (perhaps unitentionally) enhanced during the cloning process, making him stronger, quicker, and slowing the aging process. It would also explain why so many legendaries respect him so: they KNOW who he is, and they can count on him to pull off all the bullshit they need him to do. It also explains why his battle strategy is so flexible, but he's so dumb: Aaron lived in a time of war, and thus would have imporvised in the battles he was in, creating self-protection reflexes that carried over to the clone. Conversly, he subconsiously remembers what he "lived" before, so he's constantly distracted by things not working the way he feels it should

I like the Ash clones. sounds awesome. Also the idea that Giovanni would always send the clone home to spend time with Delia and get a new body makes sense. If we are going with Giovanni as his dad then whose to say that he doesn't care for Delia. Perhaps she nearly broke mentally from the depression of Ash's death and the clones are there for her. Plus I like the idea of Jessie and James being Ash's baby sitters. It explains why they are obsessed with following him but are rather ineffective for members of a powerful crime syndicate. They are never supposed to really succeed. Infact the small scuffles they have with Ash could be just to help him improve Conflict breeds growth and adaptability. Not to mention they probably get bored just watching him so they like playing with him through attempted theft of Pikachu. I also want to add to this the idea that Prof Oak is behind Ash's travel companions. As they all are guiding and teaching Ash while being his friend first as a favor to Oak but later truly come to care for the boy who lives and dies pokemon one year at a time. But that a theory for another day.

Mr.Buddy this comment is directly to you. I have 1 simple proof that you overlook and it makes this whole theory wrong. OK I want you guys to listen from here. Buddy do you remember saying something about Serena's flashback? But did you see that Serena was the same age (Maybe she a few months off, that explains why she is. taller) as Ash? No. You overlooked it. And in Pokemon X&Y it shows Serena as the same or a few moths older that Ash. She is tall because of a growth spurt or something or Ash is just naturally short. So I hope you make redo. If you do, please give me credit for this. Oh, and please reply so I know I didn't waste my time for nothing.

What if Ash is a clone of Giovanni or Professor Oak?

that's why his eye color was different from the unova region and geovani probably figured out how to give him intellect by the 6th region, kalos,and why he rarely talks about the other regions he explored, and mostly remembers the region he is exploring and Kanto, the place before he was cloned.

The second theory would work if Red is actually Ash's Father who we never see. It could be that Red went through his journey, then settled down for a bit with Ash's mom, and then left again.

My hypothesis: when Mew brought the characters back to life in the eighth movie, it actually created clones. This explains why their voices and personalities changed in the episodes following. Makes sense kind of. For the love of god don't reply explaining why the actors were actually recast, I know that. It's just a fun little justification from the fictional aspect.

in episode 23 haunter takes out ash's spirit so it doesn't make sense that he is a clone but still your videos are the best

Ho-Oh. Ho-Oh may not have existed in gen1, but Ash sees a flying bird Pokémon fly over him, nearby a rainbow. Ho-Oh is the Rainbow Pokémon. In many of its Pokedex entries it says that one who sees Ho-Oh is granted eternal happiness. Eternal happiness, maybe Ash can now live forever? Or his "eternal happiness" was being a Pokémon master, champion of all regions, and meeting/catching 'em all. Anyways, your theory was nonsense like mine, but it can make sense in a way. :) Why Ash changes his hat through different regions? Fashion or the producers are tired of the old hat.

I think the clone world is oppiste of the real world beacause Ash is strong in the real world and know alot about pokemons and Ash in the colne world was the oppistre.Then Serina beat Ash many time in the Clone world and in the real world Serina never beat Ash yet.

if ash is a clone, that would explain why he is still 10 but it wouldn't explain why everybody else around him doesn't age. And also the coma theory is a bit far fetched since he ran into misty before he got shocked by lightning, without asking her name (meaning that he shouldn't have known who she was and wouldn't have become a major part in his adventure)

If ash was a clone, he would age faster than a normal person, and as ash hasn't aged at all, he's more likely to be a robot

This theory only makes since if you watch Doctor Who and know what the main character is. Maybe the people in pokemon is a species that has come from time lords. It explain why pokemon fit in pokeballs. They're bigger on the inside, why ash appears not to age, and why ash can survive lightning, fire, and other things, why there's no normal animals, and how there is a time traveling pokemon.

If I remember correctly, Ash and friends were in Lavender Town exactly one year after he started his journey. Also, if we're counting the movies, in the short "Pikachu and Pichu", Ash says that that day is the anniversary of the start of his journey.

a theory i believe in is that the anime is a bedtome story, off the bat this explains why ash does not age, and explains a scene from one of the gen 4 movies on it, with a little girl and a mother, who have been seen in other episodes after this movie, not only does it explain why he isnt aging, but how he can seemingly survive almost everything without major harm, as in the electric shock in the first episode.

What about Ash being sucked into MewTwo's cloning device during the first movie? He was at least partially connected as so a clone could have resulted from that.

i could see why tobias came out of nowhere, if he had a trigger not to win the league, they could have realized the sinnoh talent wasn't up to par and ash had a team that would have won the tournament, tobias a elite rocket member was sent in as a ringer to keep ash from winning

My theory is that Ash has a disease where he doesn't age or hit puberty, where the world he lives has 50 years as their normal year, and immortality through the power of friendship and happiness. Or maybe your over thinking a child's show... Nah

I think the "anti-aging" portion of this theory would be better explained by the clone being unable to continue growth

Bulba Tube, you do have a point, but Pikachu's electric shocks may not have been powered by the emotion to protect Ash before the first time Mr Buddy said he was cloned, but may have just been powered by nothing more than annoyance.

I read a theory that Ash might be a Time Lord, which is absurd of course, but interesting. I know that's been used for countless characters, but he does seem to have some Time Lord traits: -He is able to survive massive electrical shocks, freezing temperatures to a degree, and withstands physical trauma that would kill anyone else. Hell he took a Charizard flamethrower attack point-blank and was only scorched. -He doesn't seem to age because Time Lords grow and mature much slower than humans. The Doctor once said that he was 'just a kid' at age ninety-nine, when he visited the Medusa Cascade. How this would go unnoticed by humans around Ash might be similar to what keeps a TARDIS from being noticed aside from its chameleon circuit.

Jesse James and Meowth took far worse spankings from pokemon than Ash ever did. almost every episode team rocket gets blasted through the statosphere, and lands back on earth alive. so thats thousands of volts + massive landing impact for team rocket. lets face it the cloned units being tougher is just silly when the majority of humans in the pokemon world are shown to be half kryptonian. all you need to ask is, DO OTHER PEOPLE LIKE MISTY AND BROCK AGE?

My thoughts are that when Ash saw Ho-oh in episode 1, I'm pretty sure that in one of the pokedex entries of Ho-Oh, it says that Ho-Oh grants wishes upon seeing it, perhaps Ash's wish was for his Pokemon journey to never end, he probably wasn't wishing for LITERALLY living forever, but Ho-Oh thought he meant that he wished to live forever?

The only theory I have is about nurse joy and officer jenny, which is a bit dark. But it explains why they look the same. They a part pokémon, I don't really have any facts based on this, outside their appearance . But I imagine there was a traffic accident, which injured one or more pokémons, one of them was violently scratching in the air, so while a nurse tried to help it, an officer helped by holding it. Which lead to the both of them getting scratched, and a bit of blood got into both of their scratches, and there by making them both part pokémon, even if it's just a tiny part, it was enough so whenever they got kids, they always looked alike, just like pokémons.

Ambertwo just left the space that Dr. Fuji was cloning her in, she and the other clones are going about their lives, that is one of the theory's I happen to see in this video.

I don't think Ash is a clone, because in some episodes he remembers old times... For example in the episode pikachu and goliath he remembers the time he fought off the spearow in the rain also in B&W he remembers Charizard and Tododile. Also he sees flashbacks to him being younger and I for one think he HAS gotten older and that time in B&W was just a dubbing error. That is - this is still a very interesting theory and a good video! :)

Better theory: Is Ash a character for an educational TV show aimed at 5-10 year olds that does yearly movies designed for 5-25 year olds in order to get people to become pokemon trainers? My theory is that whatever replaces the military in the pokemon world is just trying to recruit Trainers as their defence force. The 6 pokemon limit is so you can have loyal weapons because yes, a team of 50 would wreck, if they're not loyal they're not as efficient. The show makes it look like being a trainer is the greatest thing ever. Everyone is nice, you get to travel across the world, sweet gamifying gyms everywhere to keep you from going bored, many pets you can learn about, free healthcare, etc. Like, look at the pokedex in the show! It tells us, the real world audience pretty useless information. But what about the pokemon audience? To them, that just tells them what wondrous things their world has for them. But here's another part. Why isn't everyone a Pokemon Trainer? Because it's just like how the army tells you that signing up will have so many benefits like high pay, reserved educational positions, work ethic building, etc. But people in our world don't take those options, why not? Many reasons but they don't have as much marketing. No one goes "Yeah, I want to be data entry man for a legal firm!" but people still end up there because military propaganda doesn't work on them, they found their own path. The thing is, there's a good chance that the anime (and maybe even the games) are just propaganda to get trainers to enlist willingly, just like how most nation's defence forces have show off days at schools to tempt kids down that path. Pokemon is propaganda by the military to entice people to become trainers!

This theory is still plausible, for even though he wouldnt age, he would still have the memories of everything before switching to his new body, and he would see everyone as aging, and his "dad: could make the clone grow with them to keep up a normal life for him and erase him coming to see his dad and makes hime want to come back and see him. He could still get a partner, the partner would just never know what giovanni is doing. So in short, his dad would have have to genetically advance his new body, into making everyone think he ages evan thoughe he technically doesnt, to maintain a "normal" life.

Ash and most of the rest of Pallet Town withstood an electric attack in the first episode, so you wouldn't need to be a clone to survive a pokemon attack in their world. As for the clone being unstable and degrading after only a year, clones don't degrade. They either happen successfully or they break down prior to birth. Also clones aren't born at any age but infancy, just like normal creatures.

The inability, rather, the "command" of not swapping out pokemon can't be true. He has brought back Charizard on multiple occasions and he brought back pokemon from previous generations to fight in the Diamond/Pearl pokemon league. (Which is how he has a Quilava instead of a Cyndaquil BTW)

Question: if Ash goes to a new region every new year, then why don't his friends and acquaintances age? Let's instantly transfer the topic to my theory, or rather Ash's fan story. According to my idea, Ash was not born in Pallet Town, but in another city in another region without generations. In the game Pokémon Rangers: Shadow of Almia, a separate region is mentioned - Almia. In its view there is a city that, as it were, is not considered to really exist - the city of Runo. It is surrounded by high mountains, through which it is almost impossible to cross, and from the sea side it is closed by a coral reef. At the time of creation, I asked myself - where do the legendary Pokemon go? I mean, they travel the world and all, but there must be at least some place that they can call their home? The answer is: they went to the same city. And then there was an immediate inconsistency - in the film about Huppa (I forgot its name) it was said that if many legendary Pokemon are in one place, this will lead to a bend in space and time. However, the place where the aforementioned actions took place received the influence of the aura of the legends too harshly, and the city of Runo absorbed the energy of these creatures for centuries. Naturally, this also affected the people living in that place. The aura of the legends allowed them to receive incredible strength in the form of extremely rapid development (seriously, babies 2 months old, are able to discern the world in the right light, calmly speak, think and move), incredible strength and endurance. This explains all the incredible actions that Ash got up to throughout the anime. By the way about him. According to my idea, he was born not alone, but together with a sister, similar in character to him, but completely unlike him in appearance. The father of the family was a professor that gives starter Pokémon to rookie trainers. He died on a mountain expedition the very next day after the birth of the twins, and Delia invented the story of her father, who abandoned the family, so as not to hurt the psyche of the children (they, in fact, knew what happened to him, but they pretended not to know it. Ash used this tale himself, but only in order not to cause compassion from his friends). Both twins were Guardians (more details in the answer to the commentary). So. Ash and his sister Mia lived happily in the same town. There they worked as the leaders of the unofficial doubles stadium. Often the twins played with other children, creating unknown game with their powers. The kids knew that the keepers were obliged to hide their powers, but they ignored the rules, which, in the end, played a cruel joke with them. When Ash and Mia were 5 years old, they, along with their mother, went to the outside world, so to speak. All day they had fun and played, and in a huge shopping center they ran away from their mother somewhere deep in the building. In the evening, on the same day, a fire alarm went off in the shopping center. Everyone, except our twins, quickly and efficiently left the building. Ash and Mia, in turn, did not know how to act in such a situation and just ran in panic throughout the building until the fire completely surrounded them. Iron and wood pieces of the building, heated to near melting point, fell on the poor children. They were able to dodge, but pieces of metal grazed the kids' cheeks, leaving burned burns in the form of lightning on them. Then Ash discovered a way out of the trap into which they had driven themselves. They got out of the circle of fire (superhuman dexterity) and almost ran to the exit, but then a huge number of smoldering beams fell on Mia. Ash tried to pull her out from under the rubble, but the firefighter himself pulled him out of the building and took him to his mother. Mia was never found (spoiler alert: she was able to get out of the fire), which is why she was officially considered dead. Ash took this loss hard. Well, Delia, so as not to remind her son of the loss, moved with him to the city of Pallet Town. In the forest, in a clearing of white brook lilies, a wreath of which Mia always wore on her head, Ash placed his sister's grave, to which he returns after each region. But before traveling, he was in a state of invisibility. Everything for him happened as in a foggy dream. Only the Pokémon that hid with Ash in the roots of a tree and inspired him to become a trainer were able to get out of this state. Here's a story. I have a theory of my own about that Ash really is Red clone! I will start with some fact and only then will carry on to the theory itself. So, facts: 1. Giovanni was inspired and touched by Red in Pokemon Origin. 2. Mr. Fuji had Mega stone. 3. Mr. Fuji knew about Mewtwo. 4. Mr. Fuji gave Red the Mega stone knowing this is the only chance for Red to defeat Mewtwo. 5. Red won the pokemon league (unlike Ash, important thing to remember since there is the subconscious messages of Ash's brain). 6. Mega stones were revealed in the anime only after the Diamond and Pearl season (Oh yeah, there is Dialga in this theory). Now! It's theory time! Let's start that Giovanni really liked Red alright? Red reminded him himself when he was young and he is the pure reason why Giovanni ordered to tear apart Team Rocket. So, it does make sense that if he really wanted an awesome trainer which will have all the good quailetes that pokemon trainer should have he will pick Red as a template. Knowing that Red is anti Team Rocket, Giovanni wanted to get a fresh start so he needed to clone Red. That's enough Giovanni for now we will come back to him later. We do know that Mr. Fuji gave Red the Mega stone of Charizard X knowing it will be the only way that Red will defeat Mewtwo. But wait! Mega stone? What the hell? We are talking about 1st generation you know, 151 pokemon, no breeding, NO MEGA STONE. How could it be? Well, the first appearance of Mega stone in the main anime storyline is on XY series which mean AFTER we know about the existent of Dialga! Dialga can travel through space and time and we do know that this pokemon can do it with people! Back to old man Fuji. He was one of the scientists to work on Mewtwo in Ash's universe but! He also knew that Mewtwo is strong and no one can control him. So what he does is to go to Red's universe in order to stop the disaster that Mewtwo caused in Ash's universe. That's why he knew the Mega stone was the only way to stop him. So he somehow (well... kinda stretching for the theory) managed to use Dialga's power in order to travel time (in order to get the Mega stone for charizard) and universes (in order to get to Red's universe). Well that's all nice and good but doesn't explain the Ash being clone from Red thing. If Fuji were able somehow to get Dialga in order to use his time and universe power thing so can Giovanni! If you remember earlier Giovanni wanted to start fresh with someone just like Red but he wanted the new trainer to be on his side. So he simply takes Red from their universe into Ash's universe and create... ASH! THE CLONE OF RED! Also, this theory may explain why Red disappears.. He doesn't disappears he just shifted universe! Hope you guys liked my theory :)

Hey dont forget about the space pokoemon movie when ash is shone with a glowing aura for a split second after being shocked with thund bolt and his friends act like it's perfectly normal

I really thought this was going to involve the part in the first movie where Ash went into Mewtwo's cloning machine to get Pikachu back...

Ash could also just be a clone of Giovanni himself, maybe because he wants an heir, or maybe he wants to later replace Ash's conciousness with his own when Giovanni dies, maybe splicing in the experience Ash gained on his journeys. Hey, doesn't that sound reasonable? Also, in that case Jesse, James and Meowth would fit in even better as they would have to clearly be oblivious to their "protection" task - they are in fact meant to be another training impetus, but also serve the purpose of monitoring Ash's progress while they are themselves unaware of this.

i watched the anime up to the end of Unova and many of the people from the previous regions reappear and all haven't aged, my theory on this is that all of the adventures happen in the span of 1 or 2 years so non of them look like they have aged...I may be wrong but looking at it, it seems that way :)

Ash's age can't be brought into any theory because no one around him ages (Unless it's one of the coma/dreaming ones). Him being a clone doesn't explain the lack of aging of everyone around him.

Maybe, instead of Ash being Giovanni ' s son, he's a (Dolly the sheep style) clone of Giovanni himself. And because the technology wasn't as advanced or because Giovanni still lives, Ash never got the memories like the later human clone (the girl made at the same time add mewtwo)?

Theory: Ash is actually a clone of Giovanni himself. Both Giovanni and Ash are skillful at battling, and their appearances are fairly similar. Of course Ash would have the genetic enhancements implanted in him by Giovanni as well.

While i do see your points on the dimisal of this theory Mr.Buddy take into account in what you said yourself, Red has not showed up in the anime, aside from origins, and if Ash was indeed a clone he would have to possibly a baby clone or a young child. Given that i want you to take in account the fallowing things. Red is dead and is a ghost at the top of Mt.Silver (use atleast a couple of the games canon here since we dont know the exact time line), Giovanni being Ash's father, Delia is Ash's mother and is married to Giovanni, and as of yet Delia so far has no job (or if she has one its not a very frequently done one since whenever we've seen her she's always at home in her garden, like she knows for a fact Ash's coming back on that day but her reaction to his return is more happy and surprised then happy and overprotective as to why he didnt come home earlier in the day.) My theory goes like this. After Red had defeated team rocket he went on to become the greatest trainer of all time, (or in Kanto/Johto atleast if you wanna go off the games), he went to Mt.Silver to train but when had died at the top of the mountain from freezing to death, and it is very much likely that his pokemon had the exact same fate as him. Reason we do not see his body and just his ghost, is that a hiker at somepoint had climbed the mountain and saw his body dead before taking him down, it was at the pokemon center where the hiker or who ever found him took him that they discovered it was Red, and from there the press had gone in to a frenzy and caused Pallet town to hear of their greatest trainers fall. Giovanni, who is married to Delia and is debating on having a child, hears this and decides to bring in team rocket once more, with the hopes of his new 'son' becoming the greatest trainer of all time, at this point Delia had no knowledge of what her husband was doing when she became pregnant with their child. But at the hospitle Giovanni's men had switched out their real baby for the clone, and putting the real baby into adoption. While the clone does indeed have majority of his DNA cloned from Red and has enhancements like you have listed so Ash would not fall victim to the things Red had fallen victum to, Giovanni didnt want Delia to be suspicious as to why their child doesnt resemble them and as such it would make her start to not care for the child, so Giovanni had his own DNA and Delia's DNA in the baby aswell after having gathered samples from their...ahem, last intercourse. So Delia wouldnt be the wiser. While all this took place their real son was being cared for by another family in another part of the region away from Delia, this child being Richie would explain how close their age is and why he is similar to Ash while at the same time oddly enough having his mother and fathers hair color as appose to Ash having Reds hair color. And if you take in to consideration we do not know when Red died on Mt.Silver that we do not know his age either, so he could have possibly be in his early 20's, making it possible for him to have the proper DNA to clone from and having look older when Gold battled him on the mountain. So this also made it likely that in the year that it took Giovanni to make a clone Blue had his own son named Gary born. Everything was going so well, but when Ash lost his first test battle with his father Giovanni knew something went wrong and had tested him once more to find that the Ash, due to having a mix up of three DNA's, had ended up lacking the battle intelligence to win the first time and only win the second time around. This caused Giovanni to be enraged and began to belittle Ash before Delia managed to calm him down, after which he would treat him as he did before for a short period of time before exploding in Rage agian. This went around many times before Ash came to both want to make Giovanni proud and at the same time not be the perfect team rocket 'soldier' he had always told him to be. Once Ash had confronted Giovanni with this Giovanni snapped and left him and Delia without a word aside from it just being business. Making Delia believe he still loved her but had to do work and took offence every so often when people claimed he'd never returned or that he didnt care for Ash (which is why she scowled him in the second episode when he said in response to her praise that his father just saw him as a rotten apple). This all would have more then likely happen prior to Ash getting Pikachu and after Ash had met Serena (idk if i spelled her name right im sorry) at Summer camp. And Professor Oak being as old as he is, probably saw potential in Ash and moved the time for trainers to pick up their first pokemon to an early time of day so Ash would oversleep on purpose and get only one particular pokemon, Pikachu, due to the fact that Ash had reminded him so much of Red. When he was younger and was getting his first pokemon. Top top off that fact it would also explain why Oak is so open to Ash and trusts him with important tasks, such as the time he had him deliver the GS ball. But as you had stated before it would also explain why team rocket hasnt gotten fired from their jobs yet. Seeing their goofy nature and their lack of skill Giovanni had figured to send Jessie, James, and Meowth to fallow Ash around. To them they think he's sending them on an important mission to steal a priceless and powerful Pikachu when in reality they are unknowingly reporting back to Giovanni on Ash's progress when they report to him about how they are so close to catching Pikachu and he asks about how the trainer is progressing each time. As loosing the first battles and winning the second battles would also explain why he always beats team rocket, after having nearly lost to them the first time they met Ash (in a way) kinda predicts what they might do in certain times and gets his and other peoples pokemon back in the end of nearly every episode. They arent throwing the match agianst him but legitamitly trying to beat him. And this would also explain why in later seasons as they change their pokemon, Ash has trouble at first when they face off but ends up beating them afterwards either way.

There are so many ways the theory could work to some short of level. Say he cloned Red the best trainer ever he would of taken some of Red's DNA and put it in a donors egg. The donor would have to be the same species as the animal you want to clone so, Ash's mom volunteered or was kidnapped by Geovonie to take an egg out of her, put the Red's DNA in the egg, putting the egg back in Ash's mom, making her pregnant with Ash.... AKA Reds clone. The clone would grow up like a normal kid. allowing for the flashbacks to be possible. Cloning like this has been done on lab rats so it's possible that could be true, highly unlikely though.

ok, i know your just assuming that, but giovanni is NOT ash's dad. BUT!!!!!ash's dad being bruno, an elite 4 member, he must know giovanni. so when he found out ash died, he begged giovanni to clone ash. so the "ash's dad theory" and your theory goes together. just saying

Here's a summary for you: Ash was created to be a human-Pokémon hybrid, with the resistances to Pokémon attacks but the ability to function flawlessly in human society AS a human; he was probably created to serve as a communication link between humans and Pokémon (which kind of rules out Giovanni as a creator, but whatever). He started as a baby and progressed normally until he turned ten, when he got Pikachu - and the first serious electrocution short-circuited his body's ability to develop. He still has all the skills the cloning intended for him to have, but he can never grow up.

Reasons why the theory doesn't work could also includes the following 1) Brock who has traveled with Ash for generations hasn't aged either. Even Gary made an appearance in gen 4 and looked the same age. 2) In gen 2 Ash started out with a lot of his gen 1 pokemon and only sent them away in the middle of it so how can the command of not switching his pokemon work there. 3) When Ash reaches varidian city for his 8th Gym battle in gen 1 he says it took him an year so that means Ash already delayed the clones life. In fact after the Kanto league Ash went to the Orange Islands with all of his same pokemon. 4) in order for this theory to be true we would have to assume that geovani stopped researching for a more durable clone after he made the first one couldn't he make a clone that aged normally or didn't have the flaws the original clone did.

Here's a thought: What if the pokemon series just takes a way shorter time than it seems to? Maybe it's all happened over several months as opposed to several years, and that's why Ash is still 10-- because it hasn't even been a year since he first went on his journey. Anyone else think so? Well that may explain why he doesn't remember all the different battle techniques he learned, like the moves from the times he was traveling with May and Dawn, and also why he doesn't remember which pokemon has what weekness, like when he battles against Gengar after he returns to his homeland.

Considering Ash's memory suddenly gets lost every Anime of Pokemon and his only memory is Pikachu and the fact he's from Pallet town, I would believe that he either is brainwashed or is cloned every year. Same with Pikachu.

The whole clone theory is interesting, but no way could the 'programmed commands' be true at all. For starters in the original Japanese version when Ash, Brock and Misty return to Viridian City for the eighth badge Ash states that it had been a whole year since they were in Viridian City. Had he been been programmed, he would be dead set on going back home, not wanting the badge. Also, during the battle frontier episode called: "Gathering the Gang of Four" Ash replaces some of his old Pokemon with Charizard, Squirtle and Bulbasaur.

For second part of the 'Ash is a clone' theory to work remotely logically, I suppose Ash could have died as a small child, possibly due to Giovanni's carelessness and thus the man cloned him. If he DID get their son killed, it would also potentially explain why he's no longer with Ash's mother (What was her name?? Deliah?), assuming they were together. Or he could've been a clone of Giovanni himself. They DO look alike other than hair colour. I don't think Ash actually IS a clone, though, I was just working out possibilities in my head. ^-^U

Mr Buddy the second cloning theory sounds more convincing, and honestly one thing that isnt considered in your video, is that red could have been the champion before ash was born.. ritchie makes no sense to be the base for the reasons you stated, whereas if red existed in the pokemon universe, it would never have been said if he was older than ash, so its safe to assume he is in this world,

yeah that could be true but in episode one of pokemon diamond and pearl, ash is wearing the same clothes as he was in the hoenn region when he arrives, also his MOM sent him new clothes, in the mewtwo origin anime special, the leader of the science team that was cloning mew had tried to clone his daughter, and failed. BUT his wife left him when he tried to clone her. So why wouldn't ash's mom leave giovanni for trying to revive their son, if the leader of the cloning project's wife left him? Of course, this theory is kind of cool I just think that it ruins pokemon if the main character was in a coma or is really a clone.

Mr. Buddy you can be right that their keeping him the same age though they never acknowledge if he is getting older. But watching an old episode they made a comment. In the gathering of Four episode where Ash reconnects with Pikachu, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charizard in preparation of his 3rd and final battle with Brandon the Battle Pyramid King he said alot has happened throughout the years since catching them. So the show acknowledged the passage of time unlike I believe the Simpsons have done. So maybe its the leap year joke he aged every 4 years out of the 20 its been on. During the battle with Brandon bulbasaur's vine whip was hurting him. When Charizard's flame thrower hit ash during their hanging out he Ash said that hurt. Which I believe was the only time he said that.

A couple of Pokemon Theories I have are how do Pokemon that requires traded evolve in the wild? I have seen slowing, Gengar and 1more I can not think offhand. Another question I always wondered is if some of his Pokemon he let go why havent he randomly come across them like Butterfree or Pidgeot? In the Johto league they showed a trainer from another region particiapting yet the Professors and Trainers have no information? Professors know of one another and study different fields of Pokemon but no gathering or passing along information of their region's unique ones? Then always wondered if Agatha is gary's grandmother since the parents are never showed and she mentioned knowing Professor Oak a long time ago.

Something i want to point out is with mewtwo. In mewtwo origins his voice was a guy and such, but in another movie with mewtwo its a girl this is where you meet mega mewtwo and she fights genesect well with that mewtwo does not remember ash at all which is strange so i know not all have a theory on this, but i thought maybe they created another mewtwo but a female version of him. I just had this on my mind because the mewtwo i would have thought would of remember ash from pokemon origins. This was just something that crossed my mind

idk if this theory actually makes sense, but there is something i would like to add... what if both, pikachu and ash were killed back than and due to that they must be cloned every time they visit a new region... they both keep their memories (that's why pikachu trusts him), but they lose all their previous experience (that could explain why pikachu lost to a low leveled snivy and that (few episodes later) ash was surprised as he could not have switched his pokemon after mean look was used, even though he had seen that move before)... but i don't think that he died back then... i mean honestly... it's an anime for 10 year olds... they banned an episode because of a gun... why should there be deaths of main characters?

There's always the theory that none of it is real. It's all just a story being told to a little girl by her mom as bed time stories. That's why it's always different and no one ages, or changes or cares about that fact. There is also a little girl and her mom seen several times through the cartoon and I think a couple of the movies. Please dont ask me which episodes or movies cause it's been far to long since i've watched.

Theory: What if Red was Giovanni's son? What if, at some point, Red dies? Giovanni would have been upset over this. So, Ash, a modified clone of Red, is made as a sperm cell a year or 2 later and implanted into Delia's embryose. Giovanni has Jessie, James, and that lil shit with the real cat like name, watch over the clone and act as his main 'adversaries' so as to make Ash as strong as Red. This would make the teory MUCH more reasonable, as Delia would've just thought Giovanni was some badass trainer that she had sex with after his son died. Considering how sperm cells die off when 1 of them hits the embryo, this theory of mine is already trashed. Right? In reality, the 'Red Sperm Cell' would have been MUCH stronger AND faster than the other ones, allowing it to be the one to reach the embryo. It would also account for Ash being able to grow up with a (relatively) normal life. Thoughts? Concerns? I'm all ears.
