Pokemon TikTok Star Reacts to "I Attempted a Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke" 

For those who didn’t watch the stream, Jaiden actually lost her first attempt at the Elite Four. Her Togekiss died to a crit Stone Edge against Aaron’s Heracross, and her Garchomp and Quagsire had really unlucky deaths against Bertha’s Rhyperior. Since the rest of her team was weak against Flint, she gave up. However, since the reason for her losing was extremely unlucky and not mistakes on her part, she did a poll asking if she could retry the Elite Four. 70% said yes, so she did it again. She won, but it was hollow. “Alternate Timeline Jaiden” was her, when she lost the first attempt.

Jaiden went to the Elite Four and lost during it, but everyone let her have a second chance, and the glitching was an awesome way of showing it!

I love the split reality story. Genius bit of storytelling, and probably something that's plausible in-universe. And I don't blame her for beating the game after rising so far, only to lose at the very end. I'd probably box my mons that died, too, so I can play around with them after the ordeal. I've just never been able to afford a consule and game. Though, I think I've seen Gold and Silver on an emulator site before, so maybe.

I like how instead of denying her loss the first time, she finds a way to incorporate it into the story. That honestly just made the story so much better and feel almost like a real animated short film.

Jaiden would be a great story writer, she uses such descriptions and she is just amazing

I think the only part that makes me “frown” upon the death of “failure” is that she drew the thing looking so damn *terrified* of Frosslass XD

For those who weren’t there for the first stream, she played platinum once but when she fought Bertha, Colgate got crit by stone edge and Oops the quagsire and flakes the Garchomp had unfortunate deaths with her rhyperior So when she beat Bertha she only has shrimp, see, and and turt, all of which were weak to fire. At that point she gave up. But when she polled if she should try again 70% of people said yes so she did. It was interesting to see how she showed her first nuzloke with platinum by doing the glitching animation.

The ending to this video always gets me hyped. The way she incorporated her first kiss and made it into an actual story is masterful, just breathtaking

For those who didn’t understand when she was split in two she had an alternative version of herself and all those glimpses where the other Jayden losing so she was wondering if she deserved champion as the other Jayden also did but lost to the elite four . That’s how the story goes I think

Hey purple, the glitches in the elite 4 are from the original run. When she was streaming it, she lost 5/6 Pokemon in the elite 4. Rhydon killed Flakes and Oops and that’s why it was holding their corpses, and in the battle with flint Torterra, scissor and Magnezone died, so she gave up. But because it was her birthday, the chat let her have another try, and she turned it into a cool giritina plot. That’s why at the end she says she doesn’t know if she is the real her and she doesn’t deserve the victory

BTW I just realized everyone is at the reason why Jaiden has visions of her pokemon dying when they don’t realize purplecliffe said ziggzagoon when it’s not in that region

I love how she took losing and being allowed to try again, and made it an interesting plot element

Jack her Pokémon didn’t die in the end but giritina created an alternate universe where Jaiden loses in the elite four

Love how jaiden made a whole storyline around her league loss, while purplecliffe would just be like "RUN NUMBER TWO!!!"

Technically she didn’t kill Dwane since she just put him in the box. It wasn’t in the box where you put the dead Pokemon

8:52 True it wasn't a crit but in platinum if you use pursuit when they're trying to switch Pokemon it's double damage and in the process Fairy typing wasn't added so Kirlia was pure psychic and since pursuit is a dark type move and Kirlia was 3 levels lower it was pretty much a guaranteed ko

BTW if anyone wants an explanation of the weird scenes at the end with the "second Jaiden" and her pokemon, On her stream she actually lost her first try, hence the dead pokemon and her words about her second self losing. The chat agreed to let her try again, which is the reality in which she won. That's why she says she "cant accept this victory" because she technically lost on her first try.

I can heavily relate to Jaiden with that starley crit at the start. I was playing platinum as a kid and he landed 3 critical quick attacks, I still despise that bird for that.

For anyone that didn't know she tried this before this is Jaiden's second try at beating the nuzlocke and the glitches is her trying to show her loss the first try.

Your right, in the stream Colgate died to heracross and she lost the nuzlock on the first attempt, the dark visions references the first attempt and they really happened.

sorry for doing multiple comments but the Giratina split thing was just showing how she lost in her first attempt at the nuzlocke but won the second time and was just showing that she did a second attempt at the elite four because she had the same pokemon and there is no way she could have gotten all the same pokemon in different runs

If I'm not mistaken, the "glitches" in the video are a reference to her 1st attempt where she lost to the Elite 4 (the video is actually about her 2nd attempt, where she actually won)

Yeah. She had horrific crit luck on her first run through the Elite Four, and was left facing Flint with only Pokémon who were weak to fire. She asked chat if she should just give up, and since it was her birthday they convinced her to retry the Elite Four and just see if she could do it. She won, but can’t really accept that victory, and just needed to make sure everyone knows that fact.

Jaiden lost at the fire type elite four originally but due to the fact that it was all crits and bs that did it, and it was her birthday, chat voted to let her have another shot, which is what the whole "glitches" were about. Honestly the fact that she incorporated them so flawlessly into the animation with the splitting of herself at Giratina is so amazingly awesome.
