Congrats, you won the giveaway! Shoot me an email at the address in the description, but also reply to me here so I can verify it's you. I'll get your cards to you!
I recently started collecting with my girlfriend. She's been literally pulling all my good hits. I recently pulled a Bloodmoon Ursaluna! Amazing cards in tbis set and cant wait to complete it.
Sheesh, cardboard is expensive, huh? But man, seeing that IR spread makes it worth it in the end. As per usual, good work, and congrats on completing the set. Using the trainer tip cards as spacing in the binder is actually pretty big brain, makes me wish that they existed in the same way for older sets. Very much agree with you about the Ogrepons, the SIR versions look so good together - really big fan of the glass stylization. I've taken a big liking to the Froslass, it's just so eerie. Super cool, no pun intended. Really sick set overall, I need to get through the Gen 9 games because I've been getting "spoiled" through the cards.
When the Greninja was reveled in Japanese, I was praying it wouldn’t get hyped up and overpriced cause I knew I wanted to master set this but alas the English market does what it does best. At least I pulled Carmine and Eevee so those are some weights lifted off my shoulders but I know Greninja will elude me for a while. Nice seeing them all together here!
Yeah, it’s kinda frustrating. The scarlet and violet era has had weird chase cards so far. I would not have expected this one to keep climbing like it has.
That’s actually just where the last person who was doing this left off! There was a RU-vidr called Mr mewman who did these, and I liked the videos but he stopped and no one had done them for crown zenith and up. But yeah, swsh was definitely “harder” as far as pull rates. If you completed them as singles mostly though they weren’t any tougher or more expensive than this era. Evolving skies excluded of course.
This set has some absolutely beautiful cards! I have only opened about 10 packs so far (which kills me!). Beautiful job on this, as always! Congratulation again!
Hey I just started collecting Twilight Masquerade and it would be amazing if I could get that booster box so I can continue my journey on finishing my first Pokémon set thank you
I haven’t started this set yet, just not feeling the stained glass look 4 main cards. Still really cool to see a completed set- might buy a few cards as singles after seeing them!
Nice master set! Would love to see the opening of packs as part of your progress towards completing it! How many booster boxes do you normally open to complete the base set normally?
Thanks! I’ll start trying to do vids of the openings. Usually I do two booster boxes plus all ancillary product-so an ETB, the blisters for the promos, etc. That won’t get me all the reverse holos, but it does get most of the base set and I’ll just get the rest of the bulk at my local card shop! Then I’ll do singles for the hits. I’ll do a video of that with Shrouded Fable!
Yep! A master set is typically everything that can be pulled from packs. So the regular, reverse holo, and all the secret rares. A good way to keep track is with the players guide book that comes with the set ETB! It has checkboxes for all versions.
Do you know where to get more of the pack art cards that come in the build and battle kits? I've been looking for them everywhere, but I can't find anywhere that is selling them.
Unfortunately the build and battle kits are the easiest spot to get them. Sometimes you can find people selling those without the packs for like $5 on Facebook. Occasionally the trainer tips cards are on eBay.
So I'm new to collecting for a master set. Do you only keep reverse holos and non holos? No regular holos? Its kind of hard to tell from the video. The first of each type looks like a non holo followed by a reverse holo.
You keep one of everything that can be pulled from packs. So the regular commons, uncommons, plus the holo rares, and all reverse holos for all of those. So yep, I’ve got the regular holos there too they just tend to blend in on a zoomed out binder page! Sometimes the build and battle kits have “non holo rares” which means one of the rare cards but without the holo. Those can’t be pulled from packs, so they aren’t part of the master set, but if I get them I stick them in the back of the binder!
Yep, everything gets a sleeve! Even if not to protect just the common bulk or whatever, it helps to even out the binder page thickness to have everything sleeved the same.
@Pokelou502 awesome! Thank you! Im a life long pokemon fan but haven't collected since the original base set. Very excited to get back into collecting and this advice is a great start.
I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel. It's great inspiration to keep going for a master set myself! It's also so much help to have a visual reference in a real binder
Just started collecting a couple months ago again. Had full base set as a kid…sadly don’t know what happened to that binder as my family moved a few times growing up. Now I’m on the quest to master Twilight Masquerade 🤙
I started my master set not too long ago. I can’t wait until it looks like this it’s soo cool definitely one of my favourite scarlet and violet sets so far.
I’m trying to find the time to actually organize a tcg/set room etc so I can do just that. But right now with a house of young babies and dogs it’s a little chaotic! Hopefully soon.
With all these master sets you probably have the coolest Pokémon card collection!! Currently try to complete base set of paradox rift and doing a master set of Paldean fates. Love the work!
I’m excited to see what’s after the next few sets. They’ve gone through the games, the dlc, etc. So the later era Scarlet and Violet sets I assume will incorporate more previous gen Pokemon. I’m sure we’ll get more umbreons and gengars and giratinas and charizards soon. The greninja is pretty great! Not sure it’s on the level of the big SWSH alt arts though.
I bought it as a single off Facebook! I kept trying to buy it at my store but they never got it in and every day it just kept climbing up and up in value. The first day I went in it would’ve been $100 or so.
The value on the set since I recorded the video has actually gone up a bit. So right now I’m like $30-50 in the positive haha. But it doesn’t usually go that way! Greninja has just gone bananas.
