Ok, if Flygons and Krookodiles are friends and they team up to hunt together just like coyotes and badgers or groupers and moray eels do in real life, then how come Sandiles prey on Trapinches? Wouldn't the Flygons remember this and distrust the Krookodiles?
I love how in rival section, there are many pokemon who fight each other for various reasons then there's Slowking and Oranguru who come together to see who is more intelligent. It is my personal headcanon that Slowkings and Orangurus hold something like chess competition to see who is more smart
so, oranguru and slowking are sort of frenemies, like chess rivals or mathematicians. they act like they're all high and mighty but they get along pretty well. :) I like to think they learn from one another
I love how Swellow eat Wurmple but in Mystery Dungeon the pair form an exploration team called Team Tasty. The name was made by Wurmple because he figures thats what Swellow will think of him eventually.
I thought RU-vid was glitching out (I was washing dishes so I couldn’t click my phone to check D:) until I heard him say it’s difficult to say. Then I let out an ugly snort laugh .-.
Wait, Arceus summons Unown??? That's fascinating, and incredible attention to detail. In the Book of Genesis from the Bible / Torah, God creates the world by speaking it into existence. He SAYS, "Let there be light," and there is light. I always found this fascinating because it implies that langauge is the tool that God used to build the universe. (Kinda reminds me of a programmer making a video game.) In Pokemon's case, it's obviously a parallel to the "religions of the book". Unown is the language that Arceus uses to create the world.
I just listened to a podcast (BEMA) where the speakers bring up the importance of words and language in the Eastern cultures in the Old Testament as opposed to the action-oriented mindset typical of Western cultures. It does help explain why it's described as God saying the phrase rather than performing the actions (i.e. flipping the holy light switch). Very cool connection to Arceus and Unown.
Yeah, there's a secret event in HGSS where you need a kind of Arceus with you, and then Cynthia takes you to some ruins, and then you choose if you want a Dialga/Palkia/Giratina, and then your Arceus summons Unowns and creates a new one for you (with a creepy video playing while he does it. Looks like fake creepypasta but it's real apparently)
@@KabuMontasaurios No, they are literally letters. You can even spell stuff with them if you want. Although one of the pokèmon movies shows why this is a bad idea. (The third one I believe, the one with Entei.)
My favorite has to be that the Venipede line and Sizzlipede line are related (as mentioned) that they HATE each other (didn't know they ate each other), but they are my two favorite Pokemon and I'd have both on my team.
I wouldn't say that's actually lacking in other franchises, so much as Pokemon's consistent (and remarkably stable world by RPG standards XD ) allows it to seamlessly build on the same exact world across generations instead of having to rebuild a lot from game to game. A Pokedex entry in Gen 8 can still add to a Pokemon from Gen 1 all these years later.
7:38 Dewpider being officially pronounced “Doo-pih-der” instead of “doo-pie-der” reminds me of how Ferrothorn is pronounced “fuh-raw-thorn” instead of “fair-oh-thorn” despite how the words they’re based on are pronounced Really weird
Great video, Ron! I love when you dive into Pokémon lore. You do a great job of covering a lot of material quickly in an easily digestible way. Keep it up!
7:38 why is it “dew-pid-er” and not “dew-pie-der” it’s based of a spider that uses it’s webs to hold air bubbles so it can breathe underwater It’s name is “Dew” (another name for water) and “spider” so it’s pronounced “dew-pie-der” I don’t know why I’m getting so angry about this but it’s just so triggering
I think it’s quite funny how as 1st stage Pokémon Sandile and Trapinch are prey and predator for each other and then when they full evolve they’re just like sorry for trying to eat you, wanna hunt together?
The predator prey relationship with Mareanie and Corsola is brilliant! If you didn’t know it represents the real life prey predator relationship that of crown of thorns and coral have in real life. excellent job by the Pokémon company
@@poke-watchmaster3468 My favourite part is that Cursola have Perish Song as a lvl 1 move. That is to say, it's hard-coded into the species to sing death curses on people who approach the coral graveyards they live* in. * Well, maybe not live, exactly. Where they habitate, I guess.
trapinch eats sandile and when they evolve. They help each other as flygon and krookodile. Remember when we where kids and you tried to eat me says the flygon to the krookodile
Maaan this is the most interesting pokemon video I've seen in a big while! Where did you get all this info? Pokedex entries? I'm a huge pokemon fan and I've never heard of them before
1:46 for the longest time I totally mixed those two up completely to the extent that I thought the pre evolution of the right one evolved into the left one.
So wait, Sandile eat Trapinch, but Flygon provide sandstorm shelter for Krookodile? That sounds super unbalanced. Flygons, rise up to protect your children!
speaking of slowpoke and shellder i firmly believe we were supposed to get a poison type galarian Shellder to go with galarian slowpoke line especially since both of galarian slowpoke's evo's gain the poison typing
Except Pangoro hates bullies so if it's not a friendly rivalry, Pangoro at least thinks it is. Interestingly enough, Guts Obstagoon can beat Pangoro with Facade or Close Combat since it's faster and gets the KO.
This is a repost of a comment of mine on a year old video, so I’m just putting it here to share it. I just had the idea of Aromatisse, during plagues and heavy bouts of illness, dancing through the streets, leaving a pleasant smell in its wake. This acted like the aromatic herbs that the rich used, helping the common people survive the diseases. Maybe it would’ve had an evolution, which I would have called Parfumorte, being a ghost fairy type, which would have the backstory that during the plagues of illness it helped combat, Aromatisse would lose their scent, and be vulnerable to the illness. Aromatisse who died of it would ascend at night as Parfumorte, who dance through the same streets they danced through in life. Parfumorte have the ability Neutralizing Gas, but may also have the new ability Pout Pourrie, which negates the Poison Status Condition, Poison Type moves and Leeching moves. It would evolve by fainting past level 40 at night, and when it is revived, Aromatisse will evolve immediately. So, if you see this comment, what do you think?
Aromatisse def should have had a secondary typing to distinguish it from all the other pure fairies that got introduced in gen 6. I always wanted Poison but I considered Ghost, too (and to a lesser extent Dark).
Sucks that Lycanrocs aren't officially considered/portrayed as pack hunters like real life wolves. And that there's no hyena Pokémon to compete with Pyroars.
