For a long time, I never knew this movie existed. I thought Vijay's tamil version was the original 'Pokiri" and I loved it!!. But when I did watch this movie (after coming to know that the original pokiri is in Telugu)....I fell in love with this movie and Mahesh Babu more than its Tamil version. Dang!! This really is a cult classic. I will never in my life forget this movie!! Even when if i am a 100 years old, I would still enjoy watching this movie. And Mahesh Babu....The celebrity crush I never knew I needed. I LOVE THIS!!!! ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES IN THE 2000s ERA!!!!

My Telugu movie journey started with this epic. Have watched it 50 + times. Still never feel like skipping a single scene. Always watch it till the subtitles end. Every scene, every dialogue, even every costume change & repeat is printed in my mind. Have watched every Prince movie since this, fdfs. Cannot speak Telugu properly yet but progressing each day. One of the best Hindi movies I've seen. Most Telugu movies go way, way over the top. This was absolutely on par with Hollywood quality. I've definitely become a Mahesh fan!

lol okay so the many things wrong with this comment. first, Hindu is a religion. It's like saying hollywood movies are christian movies. They're not because there are multiple religions in america. second, that's how we like it. Personally hollywood movies are too serious, boring, and dragging. Way under the top. Doesn't match tollywood quality. Basically, what makes you say hollywood holds the highest standards for quality? I certainly, for one, don't agree at all. If you want to watch telugu movies and comment, at least have the decency to be respectful towards the people and the culture you're commenting on.

@smile.123bts My apologies to all. Yes, I meant Hindi, not Hindu. My other typo is in the phrase on par, not on part, dang autocorrect. I am well aware that Hindu is a religion. I have been very good friends with a woman from Gujaret since high school (30+ yrs). We used to find the parallels between Hinduism & Christianity. There are surprisingly quite a few! @Rajani Balmuri Also, I don't speak any of the Indian dialects. I tried so hard in hs because I wanted to be respectful towards her parents when I was at their house! But, captions work just fine. I hadn't thought about the perspective I presented as being insulting to Indians. But, you are quite right and I apologize for thinking Indian films are lesser than western films. I guess we all prefer to view our own country's achievements as the gold standard. Thank you for pointing it out.

My first film in cinemas was when I was 4 years old, in May 2006. I still remember that day-it was a second show, though I don’t recall the theater's name. I went with my pinni (aunt) and akka (sister). At the time, I didn’t understand what was happening, but that movie, "Pokiri," became my all-time favorite. I proudly put "Pokiri" alongside my favourite greats like The Dark Knight, Back to the Future, and psycho any day. Fight me.

Salman Khan's movie "Wanted" is a remake of this movie. After watching "Wanted" I became a big fan of Salman Khan, especially the way he talked, walked, romanced, and dressed. But, OMG, after watching this movie, I am completely stunned! Salman Khan copied Mahesh Babu completely. Wanted and Salman Khan are not even near about Pokiri, and Mahesh Babu. Love you Mahesh Babu. One thing I have to admit, keeping the action aside, the way the love story between Mahesh Babu and Iliena was developed is better than today's so called romantic movies. Every scene of them gave me butterflies in stomach. This made me want to see Mahesh Babu act in a romance heavy movie.

Now let me tell u something i am from north west bengal whenever i watch south flims i watch telegu only because telegu flims are entertaining and music songs and bgm are like heaven .. so this flim pokiri its a way way way ahead of its time if this flim release today it will cross 400-500 crore and if it release after hundred years it will also be a blockbuster its an evergreen entertaining flilm very rare flim and this is one of a kind .. the flim is so refreshing that i first time watched with subtitles i felt so refreshment i think how can such a unique flim and refreshing evergreen entertaining flim release on 2006 .. this flim is looking like a 2020 flim.. i mean really ... People will feel same refreshment after 100 years watching this flim

ufffffffffffffffff simply an outstanding movie a movie which even still gives me goosebumps simply salute to the only sensational guy the only one to suit this role Mahesh babu and I take a bow for the entire crew and especiallyfor puri garu for making such a monumental movie which has gone down as the greatest one in the history of Indian cinema and I would say this bluntly that making its Hindi remakes Tamil kanadda and whatever remaining languages is an insult to this amazing hard work coz Mahesh simply had breathed life into the character.

Nah mate it would have been good with any hero. It’s the plot and the conflict that bring this movie to life. An actor doesn’t significantly determine how a movie does. Salman has always been my favorite actor from childhood, I still had not watched Pokiri but watched Wanted when it was released. After watching Wanted I felt Salman didn't do a good job in this movie, something was wrong. I didn't get excited to watch Wanted again. His acting was not so good. Later I watched Pokiri...... about 30 times. Was watching last night. Love u Mahesh Babu. Your acting was superb, you are THE BEST.
