Each summer, polar bears flock to Churchill, Manitoba, to bask on the rocky shores and wait out the warmer months. Prime coastal real estate is hotly contested, and bears sometimes clash over the best spots. These fights can result in polar bears straying closer to town, where tourists gathered to glimpse the apex predators may get a closer encounter than they'd hoped for.
