#shorts Western Maryland Scenic Railroad's Steam Locomotive No. 1309 (2-6-6-2) travels around Helmstetter's Curve during their Polar Express excursion, with plenty of billowing smoke!
For those that are worried about the amount of smoke, steam engines can blow light gray smoke when the correct amount of coal is added. They add a crap tone extra coal sometimes so that people can get cool videos like this. Too much coal = unburned hydrocarbons = excess smoke and pollution but cool photos / videos.
I've made reference many times that these magnificent machines almost seem as if they are ALIVE! Panting and breathing as they pull their load. I'm definitely saving this video because it is PURE FIRE! 🔥🔥🔥
when I was teenage boy I used to go train spotting on Doncaster station. The highlight of the day was when the Flying Scotsman came into view down the line thunder ing towards us with black clouds above and white steam from below. It was like some monster Dragon bearing down on us, and in flash it was with us in a blur and then gone.
The red pickup in the background just make it look like it was something out of an older era in the new age! Too cool! Got a mix of old and new! Can't beat that!
Chegava, no máximo, a 60 km/h.
I actually enjoy the smell. I lived in an area where they ran steam engines on the weekends and I always liked to see them especially when they were having a special event.
Mucha nostalgia.
Beautiful locomotive and wonderfully restored. I really wish people weren't dense in the head and would just enjoy the loco instead of complaining about "Pollution"
@@nilzasuculentasnaholanda4565 it's a steam engine that burns coal ar oil to heat water to produce steam to power the engine..the smoke is the product of combustion and used steam...
I have a wall picture my grandpa gave me when I was 13. It hung over his desk for years. A print from a painting by Paul Detlefsen called 'The Red Caboose' Love it. Sometimes they can be found.
@plaintruth2880 not really are climate is never truly ever stable through out thousands of years you can see a influxes in temperature and there is proof of this by scientist cutting out ice layers in the Arctic could green house effect be boosting this phenomenon possibly but to what extent we still don’t really know
Steam locos only make soot and the smoke is black ⚫ 😎....but diesel and gasoline and petrol make poison gas with CARBON MONOXIDE, "C-O" AND YOU WILL DIE!!!!!
