I will always remember this song from when I was a little girl and first heard it back in late 60's or 70's watching Porky Pig cartoons after school. I never forgot this song after all these years my brothers would laugh at me when I would go around also singing that catchy tune "Lets rub noses like the Eskimoses" and here it is 2017 and it popped in my head again so I decided to see if I could find it on good old RU-vid and here it is!!!! God Bless RU-vid!!!
THANK YOU ! a real gem all around. .The Warner Brothers Looney Tunes & Merrie Melodies cartoons were - and are - the best. . And what would our world be without Mel Blanc's voice characters. .
I can see why: Bugs has fur, Daffy has feathers, while Porky, in contrast, has nothing covering his bare skin. Funny enough this logic is, even referenced in one episode of "The Looney Tunes Show" where in the episode "Jailbird and Jailbunny" Porky gets told off by the law for not wearing pants, even though in the original cartoons Porky often got away with not wearing pants in almost every episode!
He was credited on the 1935 sheet music under his original name, SILVERMAN. Published by T.B. Harms, one of the Warner music publishing divisions- which Stalling had free access to.........................
The world before global warming and climate change was so beautiful. The people in the audience back then watching this cartoon wouldnt imagine that Arctic would melt in 100 years. From all the eras of humanity, I had to live in the worst one, I am so depressed when I think of how beautiful times used to be in the past. Why God? Why? Why couldnt I live in any other era than this one?
In some cases Carl wrote new lyrics to existing songs. For example the song in TOM THUMB IN TROUBLE while the title character is happily cleaningwas for many years thought to be a total original, but it was revealed later on one of the golden collections that although the lyrics were original the tune was borrowed from IN A LITTLE DUTCH KINDERGARTEN a popular children's song
Marvin The Jazzman So the song actually originated here, or perhaps it came from a Warner Feature like so many songs used in '30's WB cartoons came from then current movies that Waners was putting out.
Did this song ORIGINATE from this cartoon? Originally i didn't think so, but I can't find ANY addtional info about it, except that it was written by a man named Paul Ramsey
Are they going to ban this clip now because Eskimo is an offensive racial slur by today's standards ? Our CFL team in Edmonton was pressured into changing its name. I guess this is the new normal.
