Came in from the garage pissed off at the prospect of buying a new caliper for $275. Watched your video, went back the following morning and tried your technique. After about 15 minutes, they broke loose. THANK YOU!!!
I have a 1990 trailblazer I’m working on, it seems to be the same assembly. Issue I’m having is I don’t know where the rear brake pedal return spring is supposed to hook in. If you could take a look at your machine and let me know I would appreciate it as it doesn’t seem to be listed in the parts diagram.
If you are planning on replacing piston and o rings, heating up the caliper works great as well. The pins will push right out using the pads and screwdriver technique shown in this video.
thanks for the info soaked the hole caliper in our sovent tank at work for a few hours then used a screwdriver, punch and several pairs of vise grips got them out finally.threw them away and cut up a good screw driver shaft and replaced the shity steel pins with the new stainless pins I made.
I'm trying to put brake pads on my 99 Trail Boss thanks to you I got the pins out easy but now I'm having a problem getting my piston press back in enough to get my pads on is the Piston supposed to press all the way back in flat to the housing or does it stick out it's kind of confusing I wish you could help out making video on that or comment back thank you
