All day at the royalty 1979,who was there, got this record from rex , down the Bobby Sox,99p, chicken shack b side , shepherd's Bush Rebel's all ways turn up 👍
first saw them in 1980 at the Royalty in Southgate , and even supporting the Cramps at the Lychem Ball rooms , Oxford boat club and My home town The Greyhound in Swindon where they basically played for 50 people minority of us Rockabillies verging on psycho-billies the Rest Teddy Boys , there was needless to say the odd scrap .. such happy days, Tim always struck me as Bowie esq and the bands version of John Im only dancing was i believe said to be liked by Mr Bowie himself ..
Rockabilly with a dash of New Wave (fashion styling, dance style). There was only something like that in the crazy 80s. I'm still happy about Tim (Worman) Polecat who jumps around and goes wild at gigs from the first to the last second. THAT is the spirit of Rock'n'Roll!
Probably the 2 most exciting double guitar breaks in British pop history, this warped my teenage brain and made me want more, I'm 54 now and that apetite has still not been satiated, if in doubt slide down the neck of the guitar, make ears bleed!! bang the stage with your bare fists!!! Leave no doubt that you're the motherfukkin Kings of rock n roll... square's be afraid, be VERY afraid!!!
Never heard much of these boys in the mid 80’s rockabilly/psychobilly uk explosion (love the sound of that) were they split Was down klub foot most weekends
The funny thing is that this is probably the weakest track on "Polecats Are Go!" which has far better songs that could have been released. But it is catchy and would appeal to the pop market.
How did this band not break out in the US, given the later success of the Stray Cats and other bands/artists that also wrote and performed rockabilly songs? Love this.
Dans les années 80 ont est en revival rock n roll les jeunes de la générations decouvrent et adore et ya eux du beaux mondes qui ont faient leurs places .
nice playback... the polecats are rocking their souls out of their bodys an the folks just swing their hips and clap their hands. if the band would've play live, the folks would dance like crazy
@@thevoodoo57 Yes!! Neil is my cousin. I was at his house (actually my Uncle and Aunty's house in N London) at some point in the early eighties (I was about 11 or 12) and the band were there and took a photo with me. I remember it very well (I was about 11 or 12). Neil is a good 15 years older than me (big Irish family)!
@@brightonduder I have always wondered why he left? what he went on to do? and what he is up to now? I have seen the polecats a few times, but always with John Buck playing drums, thanks for the reply earlier.
@@thevoodoo57 He got married and took a normal job working for the family electrical business. That was obvs a long time ago - I haven't seen Neil or many other of my many cousins for over 10 years, so not sure what he's up to now...
Boz boorer in the band uses to run a record shop in Camden town vinyl bontique records downstairs in the basement floor shares with sounds that swing record shop in Camden town upstairs took the same record shop business with him to Portugal
Tim couldn't dance f*ck could he? Actually in hindsight not a bad pop rockabilly tune with regards playing techniques. Pity the new rockabilly scene sounds more like over-compressed country and western, and lazy teddy boy 12 bars. Most of the best rockabilly hasn't come from ther acual rockabilly scene for decades, and the scene ignores most of it.
@@jamesdean1143 yeh, lol, when we were around 12 years old around 1981? But, now as an adult? A really mongy way to blend a chuck berry side kick shuffle with skippy thing going on? But, they can belt a tune out though! for pop rockabilly, they definitely knew how to groove.
Yeah because Brian can't play wtf? And Jerrry Lee didn't ask SJP to be his touring drummer wtf? Runaway Boys and Rock This Town and Rumble and Strut and Little Miss Prissy are all covers ? Please Glenn!
@@kaptinshazbat7535 Can you honestly say that SJP is a good drummer ? As for writing their own songs.... these just look like punk rockers . they are nothing like old rock n rollers, the lead singer is so gay and the guitarist would be dangerous if he plugged it in and knew how to play
@@kaptinshazbat7535 well there ya go, a shit band like morrisey tells you how good they aint.... there is a big big difference between rock n roll and shit like morrisey
