Thanks Coleton. It's always good to have a perfectionist work on your car. It looks great now! As for the interior. I agree with Coleton that it's not the nicest feeling. In fact, you may notice that I added a pad to the center console because it is rather hard on my elbow. I prefer Tesla's vegan leather. However, this car's interior is made with recycled plastic. So, I do feel good knowing it is in my car instead of floating somewhere in the Pacific. :-)
Thanks for letting Coleton use your car for videos Brian! I haven't gotten to check out a Polestar 2 in person yet, so this was a great way to see one up close in more detail. Hopefully you'll get to enjoy Coleton going over my i4 next year when it comes in. :) Way cool and great looking car, btw.
@@CheddarKungPao I look forward to it. I had a deposit down on the i4 at the same time as the Polestar, so I'm really interested to see yours. It was a close call, but I decided to wait and see what the i5 looks like when it comes out.
The wife and I have a Polestar 2 with the basic textile seating/interior, as opposed to this which has the "plus" pack with the wetsuit/synthetic material. Part of the reason we didn't get that pack was we liked the textile seats better!
the interior finish is an excellent rendition of Scandinavian. the vegan materials are actually cool. and if you wanna talk panel gaps --- show me a tesla -- i could probably stick my fist through the gaps. i love this polestar2
I really dig this metallic grey color, and lots of the body details that Polestar does. Like that crease along the upper parts of the doors that goes from the front to the back. Great video as always, Coleton!
@@ctk4949 that's a false dichotomy. It can be, and to my eyes is, both grey and blue. It also looks a littke purple-y in some parts of the video. But if I had to pick one predominant category for that paint, I'd say "grey" personally.
Regarding the seats and interior materials. You can clean them back to original state really easily. The seat material is non-porous, you can sit on french fries and drive 3 hours, it doesn't matter.
Thanks for the video. About the polishing going on at the back/side of the car i have same issue... when looking at the paintwork in certain sunlight you see this "shifting" and marks left from polishing.... drives my absolutely crazy. I talked to the dealer and he said thats how it is....... arrghhhhhh!
I was surprised too seeing all those defects and having to compound a brand new car. As for me when I got mine, there was just a few tiny defects that I just polished out easily enough. And some minor panel inconsistencies as you also state. Don’t really agree with you in the interior though, but that’s just me, I really like it. A bit crowded tho, coming from a model Y to the Polestar
Well...as a new Polestar 2 owner, I'd love to see a video on how you detailed this car... This video is great but only whet my appetite for the meat. :)
That was very interesting and educational, and I'm looking forward to seeing that Polestar after you are finished with it. I've never owned a car that I've had paint-corrected or ceramic-coated (or wrapped), but I'm considering that for a Volvo C40 I have on order, and your videos are helping me decide what to have done. I have a question for you: considering that I will be driving fewer than 4,000 miles per year, all in-town (no salt), the car will be garaged, I will be washing it myself and I plan to keep it at least five years, would it make any sense to have it paint corrected but not ceramic coated?
Hertz was out of Tesla’s when I went to Germany to visit Giga Berlin for work. A bit odd driving a Polestar to the Tesla factory, but still better than driving ICE. Not a bad car. I found the tech and performance to be lacking, but the ride was nice and comfortable. Glad to see more players in the game. 👍
Great video! - I have a PS2 in the same color. I noticed the same swirl/polish marks in exactly the same places that you pointed out. I've been on the fence about bringing it in for a color correction and ceramic coating. Having now watched your walkthrough and detailed explanation, I think I'm way more inclined to bring it in now. Would have loved to see the "after video" once you had completed everything! Just curious, how much added protection (mm) will a good ceramic coating add to the paint? Since winter is approaching, will it be better to wait until spring to do this?
Mine also has that blue, I brought it in for a high end detailing and ceramic coating. It was really worth it, it's also good for the winter, because dirt doesn't stick as easy. Of course in the summer it will look nicer for longer amount of time between washes. That muck from snowy roads still sticks
The interior feels a bit off because it's whole schtick is that it's super eco. Those plastics are old plastic Coke bottles or something and the non-leather seats are some kinda petro-chemical free something or other.
Polestar fanboys are always bragging how superior interior build quality is and how it equals Mercedes, Not even close and the pro rates interior quality below Tesla Model 3. I agree, the interior of the P2 is awful.
I have the Polestar 2 in Barley leather and Its better than Tesla M3. Not even close. I do however think that the rest of the other P2 types of interiors are basic.
I too questioned the 'wet suit' interior, but I now like it. I've never been in a Mercedes EV, but the Polestar's interior is a step above Tesla and I own both. And build quality is significantly better than Tesla.
I don't own either one but having seen many Teslas over the years and having just been to the Polestar showroom recently, the build quality of Polestar really stands out.
Painel gaps!! You need glasses pal, tesla owner's always trying to see gaps on others cars but never on theirs overpriced over hyped plastic farts car SCAM ,PERIOD!!!
