I was in basic training, US Navy, Great Lakes, Ill. Our Company Commander was telling us a story about a bar overseas, which happened to be called The Blue Oyster. One of the guys from our company started humming this song out loud. 😂Not knowing that our CC knew exactly what the song was. He made us pay dearly for it😮
My buds and siblings used to joke about that "Once you enter The Blue Oyster, you ain't leaving until the last dance is over..." And this tune is still a nice memorable piece.
"Nice speech!" Next to the "Airplane" and "Naked gun" movies, the Police Academy sequels are loaded with innuendos, double entendres, and one liners. I love them.
I’m a submarine veteran and currently a police officer. If any of my cop buddies call, this is their ringtone. We bust up laughing hysterically. My supervisor’s ring tone is Jackie Gleason as sheriff Buford t justice
@@BobSaint HEY BOY…where is sheriff Branford. Oh hee hee, for some reason or another you sound a little TALLER on radio…. What in the HELL is the world coming too 😂
I often whistle. One of the many tunes I used to whistle was this song. I whistled it for probably 30 years without knowing where it came from. Then one day I started whistling it in the car with my brother. He kind of chuckled and said, “police academy “. When I realized that the tune I had been whistling for so long came from the gay bar scene in police academy, I almost died laughing. I had basically made it my theme song.
MJ: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👌I believe that even the babies who still arent born know its theme Everybody loves it because it makes us all laugh a lot.I cant stop laughing.
My siblings and I hum this song anytime one of us has anything remotely gay happen to them; and our children would ask us what it meant, and we never would say. It has remained in our family for 40 years; and now our kids are old enough to be let in on the joke, tradition. They all have learned the tradition of Do da da do! lol 😂
i randomly remembered that scene in the movie and had to search for the song 🤣😂 been atleast 20+ years since i last watched the movies but clearly remember this scene and laugh
My team's lead once thought to help reduce eye strain he'd dim the lights. As soon as he did I started playing this from my laptop. A coworker from Argentina commented, "is this the setting the mood I heard of?" Ah great time.
Omg everything I hear this I bust out laughing every time my dad an I use to.hear this we would have to get up an do the dance yeah we lost a best but it was funny because one of us had to play the reluctant dancer. I think God him self was laughing well dad if your watching from heaven this last dance is all u. I'm sure your crossing ur arms while mom.is laughing her ass off right now. My husband said maybe he will try the handle bar mustache 🤔 because I told him his ungroomed beard has been hissing an attacking me at night. I laughed an said please do it 🤣😂😆 I have an order of ass less leather Chaps on the way from Amazon and the perfect song for you an have them play it while your at work. Lol sleep lightly you just may wake up with it. Damit April first needs to arrive.
Ironic since the gay men in that scene are nowhere near as big a bunch of pansies than today's snowflakes. I'd go so far as to say the gay dudes in the Blue Oyster Bar were not at all pansies. What does that say about the snowflakes of today? lmao!
I want to say The Blue Oyster was the franchise's most famous supporting character, hands down. When Blanks and Copeland run in during the riot and screams when this song starts, absolutely...fucking...priceless.
I just saw the movie Lavalantula with Steve Guttenberg, Michael Winslow, Marion Ramsey (RIP), and Leslie Easterbrook, all from Police Academy, and they mention The Blue Oyster! lol I laughed so hard!
I still dont get why are you laughing ? Its a beautiful song honey.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Dad, Dad thats POLICE ACADEMY.No its not, Hey!!! it is🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😷Tirrititititi.
I heard this theme during the OBDM ( Our Big Dumb Mouth) Podcast, they had it playing as backgroung music. Haven't heard it since I last saw The Police Academy movies many many years ago.
Imagine, me 17 years old being at apprenticeships in printing house. I finished cutting up the order and some guys came to take it. They're wrapping it up and one guy's phone starts ringing. As soon as I hear the first notes I knew the song. Never tried so hard not to laugh.
