It must be so strange for British comedians to be equal contestants on one show only for one of them to be the host on another show. I especially find it funny with Taskmaster when Greg basically demands respect on that show, but is otherwise made fun of for his size.

Not really. British comedy is very much built around self-deprecation. Anyone arrogant enough not to be able to laugh at themselves does not last long in the profession. Its why comedians tend to be left-wing or liberal, despite what the Daily Hate claims. It's a profession that naturally attracts people who don't take themselves seriously.😂

Probably only a little bit. I mean it's not that different to actors. One day your lover might be your enemy or your mom the next. Then if you marry an actor and work on the same thing as them it can be twice as weird... This is just remembering the set and playing in character.

I did the same thing on the Queensway in my '96 Cavalier. Took about 10 minutes to get it to 200 kph going from west to east (which is at a slight long incline over ~40 kilometers). Never got caught (probably no one could believe a Cavalier could actually DO 200 kph - especially a 96 Cavalier). A few years later, I was speeding at 160 on the Queensway (there were quite a few cars on the road) and they had radar on the overpass. By the time a cop car joined us I had slowed down and even though the cop was looking for the only black car on the road, they never stopped me. Again, I think it's because they could not believe a 96 Cavalier could do such speeds.

I got pulled over for speeding once and the officer said I was doing 15mph over. There was no way that car could do 15 over driving up a hill. I took it to court and the judge said "I have the same car and I drive up that hill everyday. There is no possible way I could get my car up to 40 on that hill. Dismissed"

I like Alan Davies, always have. I'm from his neck of the woods for Christ's sake, or he's from mine - I forget which. Anyway, I've never liked the let's call it 'Jeremy Clarkson' attitude to speeding. I know I'm in a small minority here. People don't seem to mind confessing to speeding and God knows there are plenty of motorists who do it. People are less reluctant to confess to other irresponsible, reckless or dangerous traffic offences, but speeding seems to be OK. I've never really understood why.
@mayaenglish5424
@mayaenglish5424 2 года назад
I mean in fairness, it was supposed to be a story that cast's him in a bit of a bad light, (Not TOO bad), but that was the premise at the beginning of the video. And he did also preface that this was on a stretch of road where there weren't any other cars around. So is it the smartest thing to do? Obviously not lol. But it's not exactly on par with weaving in and out of traffic like an asshole at 90+ miles an hour during the day because you think you're more important than other people. Come on, tell me you've never done or even thought about anything vaguely irresponsible on a long stretch of empty road... Maybe not 108mph lol, that's a bit much for me, but I remember my dad playfully swerving on backroads when I was a kid when there were no other cars for miles, with crazy voices (It was fun, you had to be there). (And no, It wasn't endangerment, he was perfectly in control of the car at all times, he's not insane lol). 🤣
@K1lostream
@K1lostream 2 года назад
Because there's nothing wrong with it. A driver doing 100mph in appropriate conditions, in a well-maintained car, paying attention to what they're doing is not a problem. Another driver doing 69mph in the rain with bald tyres, whilst eating a sandwich and filling out their expenses form is a problem. The thing is that bad driving is hard and expensive to police, whilst speeding motorists are easy to catch and profitable. So the state has cynically tried to make speeding seem to be the problem instead of bad driving so they can cut costs and increase income, and everybody knows it so there's no shame to be felt in getting a speeding ticket. Does that about cover it?
@L83467
@L83467 2 года назад
@@K1lostream i mean, you're right, but if something were to happen, say like an animal was on the road, or there was a pot hole or something then him speeding could result in a very bad thing. unlikely of course, but i wouldnt say that going 100mph is definitely safe even if you know what youre doing
@rockysquirrel4776
@rockysquirrel4776 2 года назад
@@K1lostream - it's been a couple of decades, but I was pulled over as I was exiting the freeway. The cop said he pulled me over for speeding, and asked how fast I was going. I told him I didn't know, because I was distracted by a maniac weaving through traffic in my rearview (him). I told him I would testify to the judge to that. This was in the area of a particular judge that held the police to a higher standard, and I would likely be dismissed and the cop would get a butt-chewing. I was sent on my way, no ticket.
